The reason the short reverb gives the sound you are chasing is because it is creating a comb filtering effect without the smearing of a larger reverb. These are all the techniques I use when building complex modular patches. Waves upon waves upon waves upon waves. Endless possibilities.
Nice quality of the video, really digging the calm style and you using Ableton in a different way to many others. Any chance you let us know where the animated background is from, looks really slick!

I think I have improved myself a lot thanks to you even l am not using ableton. All the videos you have shared so far are very useful and they were all the tricks I was looking for. Greetings
this make me happy to hear and it shows that you are willing to take dobble of time to lern it when it is not ableton that you work with. i did the same when i lern it all in logic and came home and translate it to ableton.
I love how everytime he plays the sound he really gets hypnotised by it haha. Great tutorial btw. I've been using fl studio for years now because I started as a edm fuckboy / hiphop fan. Would love to be able to make techno so I might use my educational discount on ableton before I graduate uni.
@@MordioMusic I guess you're right. But making techno with an old *cough* pirated *cough* fl studio is an absolute nightmare haha. Might as well use the educational discount while I'm still studying. Also most of the good tutorials are done with Ableton and it can be a struggle to translate the knowledge over to fl.
@@Mark0Mokum then do it that sounds like the power you need to start and you will easily find yourself making music with Ableton and automating all of it.
Oh man this was a great tutorial but I really thought it would be about the awesome sound that we hear at the start of the video... the "randomised percussive synth(?)" thing with delay that sounds amazing. Wish you would do a tutorial on that technique. Or do you already have one? Anyway great video and great intro, although it tricked me into thinking it was the sound heard at the start.
Thanks for the vid! Judging from your eye movement while designing the sound, it looks like your headphone volume might be too loud. Make sure you don't harm your ears :)
Did you make the evolving percussion sounds during the intro music for this video using the same techniques explained later on on in the video? I love the intro music, and would love to know how you made it.
Hey Modio, love your content, been learning a lot in a short time thanks to you! I have always wondered how to get sub bass like the one you got in this track here. Could you maybe explain how you set it up (e.g. stock plug-in, wave form, processing)? Thanks a lot and keep it up!!
