The singer here is Mick Flynn from outside Milltown Mallbay in Co. Clare. I think he should be acknowledged here and not just ignored. Mick died about 10 years ago. When in form, he was, in my view, as good as the very best of them.
@@BKilcoyne-xg5sv It is indeed Colm O'Donnell. Even a better singer than Mick Flynn and that's saying a lot. Sorry, I got this wrong, you are right. Thanks.
Wow - I've never heard this singer before. This is as authentic as authentic gets. He must be a native Irish speaker. If I can't track down who he is, I'm going to just be sick. I've never heard a slow air delivered more perfectly. I wonder how recent this recording is? If anyone in Ireland is making a time capsule, put this in it. This represents Irish singing at its zenith. The voice is beautiful and superb in its mastery of the traditional modality.
Irish music is more heart wrenching than any other music. I’ve never heard any other country’s music that breaks my heart like this.
Wonderful poignant beautiful….

Sean Keane is the only current traditional singer who could match this rendition by Mick Flynn from Milltown Malbay.

Who is actually singing here? Brian O'Higgins?
Colm O'Donnell, I don't think Brian ever had recordings of him, at least of single.
