    Amazing how the V chord creates tension and wanting to go
    home and back to the Tonic chord to resolve that tension.
    If my old lady was a chord, she would a V chord. Especially her cooking, it creates tension,
    it's so bad, I pray after I eat. .
    But the Tonic chord, any tonic is way legit coz', like, it relieves all that tension.
    I like G Tonic myself, especially after a long day at the office, just to get the edge

    1 1V V V1 progression killed pop music stone dead. the Beatles, for example, used it only once in all their number one hits (let it be). modern music producers insist on this progression or they won't hire artists. so when people say "modern pop music sounds all the same"...it's literally true!!

      Theres a formula for scales. Whole steps and half steps, the formula for the Major scale is W, W, h, W, W, W, h. A whole step jumps a key so C to D or if its black keys C# to D#. A half step up from C would be C# and from C# to D is another half step.

    So I'm very new to piano and your videos are a real source of inspiration and knowledge. But I am confused at the counting at 0:55. How come you count a half step as a whole step between the f sharp and the g? I'm sorry if it's a stupid question.

    • @PianoteOfficial
      @PianoteOfficial  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      There a no stupid questions my friend :)
      I counted up 5 steps, both semi and whole. It just so happens that because the key of D major has both F# and C# so there is one semitone between F# and G within the five notes that I played at 0:55. Hope this helps! :)
