@@stopsign4395 Absolutely. I had tried to get into the first two games, and I just couldn’t do it. I tried to get into TW Warhammer 3 for awhile as well, couldn’t do it. Came across this two part video guide, and everything just clicked. Now I have upward 300 hours into the game, and it’s easily the best game I have ever played.
I've just been playing IE with mates and wondering why Normal difficulty felt so hard. I didn't know half of this stuff and the UI is so overloaded I was unintentionally ignoring everything
Just started playing TWW3 this week. Never played any of the others so I was hella lost. I've watched a bunch of other videos trying to understand what I'm doing. This is BY FAR the best video I've watch explaining things. I still have a million questions but feel so much better about things and pumped to jump on for another session after work.
Been following the channel for a while, and still think that this is the best for Total War out there! No false pretence, and always down to earth. Super stoked on the new game. Can't wait for Total War 40k!
I have a new friend that just started playing this game. It’s easy to forget how overwhelming all the micro systems can be for a new player. Regardless, he said this is the best strategy game he’s ever played and surprised he never played total war before. For me, I’ve been playing so long it comes as 2nd nature. This video is perfect for those just joining this amazing trilogy.
The 'you need to click 3 times to uh, increase your ability 3 times *giggle*' is why your channel is so damn good. 100% authentic. 100% real. I think you say 'I'm sorry' 20 times per video for minor mistakes that you almost always end up correcting on the fly makes your videos very relatable and feels like having an excited buddy explaining things and not a mechanical youtuber editing every slight hiccup. This is the way.
Totally new to strategy games like this and I’ve played 18 hours in the past two days and have had a total blast. And I feel like I’ve figured out 5% of this game, so this is very helpful. (Eg local regions)
I played 9.5 hours with a friend that just started the franchise. We played Grand Cathay. It was really fun, the silmutanous turn are a blessing from heaven.
Great video!! Exactly what I needed! I’ve played Rome 2,Napoleon,Empire,Shogun 2, Attila with around 500 hours combined. (Just got into TW a year ago) But Warhammer 3 is an entirely different beast. The HUD and interface can be EXTREMELY overwhelming. Thank you for making this comprehensive.
Gotta be honest, hadn't really seen many of vids prior to this and I was dumbfounded by how articulate, concise, and to the point you are. This is definitely the best iteration of a guide that I've seen. Your approach is no-nonsense and makes it very easy to retain the information you're giving out. Cheers to you, you've obviously been doing this a long time and have a great handle on exactly what it is you're doing.
Man that's such high praise ha. Thank you very much brother! :) I've been playing total war for some time and making guides seems to be a gift I never knew I had!
@@italianspartacus Honestly, I'd say it's part gift, part skill. Being able to communicate something that can be seen as complex as TW can - in a way that's easily digestible and in a way that's conducive to learning is difficult on it's own. Doing so while being articulate and without confusing things even more so. I meant it mate, I spend a lot of time (I'm a disabled veteran so I have nothing *but* time) on the internet and see a lot guides on a lot of things. This is easily the best example of what I personally consider the perfect guide out there. Hands down. Good luck man and keep up the good work.

Really damn good video!! The tutorial in this game was far better then it was in Warhammer II and I got the gist of the game. But this really just solidified everything. Thanks for making this vid.
Great video man. I have been playing this franchise since Shogun Total War. I just picked up this game yesterday and I have to say, your advice is invaluable, thanks for the tips.

You do a great job, can you do more of a beginner guide on recommended starting settlement buildings and how many starting armies and what not. I always get overwhelmed and feeling behind.
I love this game. I bought TTW 1 to test it and am now waiting for the Summer Steam Sale to grab ALL of it. 2. 3. DLC. It looks like the factions get so interesting as they figured out their formula. This may be one of the greatest series I never heard of before 3 weeks ago

I have not watched your videos for a while since I wanted to see all the campaign stuff for myself. Finally I can return to my regular Spartacus content :D To me the problem is not really starting my first campaign but my second and third... the Realm of Chaos does not work. Once we get Mortal Empires things are much better. The big takeaway for me from the Realm of Chaos campaign is that the Rule of Cool never works!
Started this out since it was free for trial in steam, and now I just bought the game after playing prologue. AND MAN WAS I OVERWHELMED. I played Chaos first and thought, meh, i played Rome Total War, how bad could it be? Then suddenly all the factions around me just beat the living dead out of me. Now Im starting with the Kislev campaign and my humbled ass is going through tutorials over in youtube and you sir are the best ❤
Hey man great guid I have watched this video at least 10 times now still a lot to learn I was wondering if you could do a video over campaign missions and scouting
super helpful! this is my first time with a total war game, I played the prologue and loved it, *possibly minor spoilers ->* then got through to the forge area/fought bel after getting the four souls with the cathay faction/iron dragon on easy mode because I was told it was a good beginner campaign, but this game is pretty overwhelming and I wanted to watch a video like this to build a better general understanding :) I'll be watching the province guide next for sure after I finish this one, and I might watch the combat guide too. I feel pretty strong in combat but I'm sure that on harder difficulties it would help to have a foundation that's second nature so I can do high level micro.
What I find especially hard as a beginner is to figure out what plays/units/settlement upgrades etc are actually good for what situation you are in. Mostly I feel like I´m playing like a headless chicken running around.
Having trouble with pacing. Knowing when to start a second army, when I’m strong enough to do a chaos realm, etc. I’ve had 1 Skarbrand run where I took too long to start on the realms and an Undivided run where I’m in the realms the same time as the bots, but I don’t think I’m ready for it, unit-wise. Also had this problem in WH2, but it feels worse here. I loved when I started snowballing everything except the realms in my Skarbrand run, though
Don’t worry about what the bots are doing too much. You can always rush the chaos souls at the end game. The bots going to the realm of chaos really doesn’t matter for your own campaign, unless they’re already getting close to all four souls (which won’t happen until turn 100 at a minimum) As for when to recruit a second army, I’d say it depends on your situation. If you’re getting overwhelmed by enemies, try recruiting another lord to support your main army as reinforcements. But if you’re not being overwhelmed, I usually wait until I have 2k-3k income before I recruit a second army. You have to walk a fine line between too many armies and too much income from buildings. And as always if you’ve never played total war before, I’d recommend playing on normal or easy for your first campaign :)
What are the actual win/loss conditions of the campaign? Is there a video that explains that? (or a timestamp in this video? I kinda skipped around because an hour is very long)
Ive done so many turns that ive just gone back and reloaded to before i made some stupid little mistake, also restarted the campaign like 12 time 😂 gotta get it right ahahaha
Am new and trying to get better at warhammer 3,my problem is my main armies are spread out too far to where it takes 3-5 turns to respond to any threat,so right now am trying to stop taking more land and just hold on to what I have, but my armies being so spread out I find enemy factions coming in by sea or rifts or just marching through and I have a very poor understanding of how to predict where they go and how to stop them.
So just on the climate at the end. does this mean you should not be attacking settlements for empire growth in undesirable or uninhabitable places? or you just shouldnt leave an army in them once you take them
I wish the global movement notification toggle worked the opposite way, like you could easily turn off individual characters like bank heroes that just sit at your capital
even though i have played the previous two games quite a bit (and also watched your tutorials for those), i actually learned several completely new things here (i figured as much, so i am watching your new ones here as well ;) ) question: you say the "local armies" effect applies to armies in local REGION. did you just misspeak or does that effect actually mean it applies only to those units built in that same settlement? i figured that effect means PROVINCE wide
im brand new and i cant get to grips with the turn base stuff.i tried to play the prologue and i got to a point were yuri couldnt move past a certain point in the map. the green area wouldnt go past a certain point. i tried to go back to see if i missed something and the same thing happened after a few turns. i was stuck in a part of the map. it was very frustrating so i just switched it off. in the wolf battle yuri decided to run away off the map too.
A campaign id recommend for a first campaign is chaos undivided. They’re kinda Op and it’s a really fun campaign but I haven’t played Zhao Ming yet so I don’t know
