    2:22 I’ve gotta say I think this is the coolest (and smallest) MRI machine I’ve ever seen. Great review!

    just finished assembly and testing of my X1-Carbon. Put a huge smile on my face when the first print came out at warp speed (but not warped - perfect). If I had a complaint it would be that the directions are somewhat lacking. With a bit of head scratching, I completed the job. A detailed setup video would help some of the new owners get past the shortcomings of the instructions.

    Thanks for the reply. I did actually stop the playback so I could read what it said on the build plate. I think I'm going to buy this so it's good to know that it needs to have a glue stick. I'm used to my Ultimaker S5.

    • @randymay
      @randymay  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No problem and yeah if you do get one at least for this plate it likes to have glue stick just in case. The texture PEI sheet on the other hand has no need for glue stick with most materials. PETG does like to fuse to smooth PEI but I haven't had any problems with it sticking like that too textured PEI.

    Hello guys I have been watching various videos and I came here. Very nice video.
    My mother is currently crafting some handmade jewellery from clay, but I think that 3D print has more potential.
    I want to start learning 3D printing as a hobby (would love to create an Ironman helmet😂) and why not to start creating stuff for sale as many of you probably are doing already.
    I am completely new to this and I have not bought a 3D printer yet.
    Should I try this one or go to creality ender S1 plus? I know that they are incomparable, but it seems that this one here is capable of doing many things.
    Many thanks of any answer !!
    -Peace

    • @randymay
      @randymay  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      If you have the money I would get this one or at the very least the P1P over the Ender 5 S1.
      These printers are very easy to use and make really good prints right out of the box.

    I have been thinking about getting a Bambu x1 carbon because I would like to print in multi color. I already have an artillery sidewinder x2 and a creality cr-30. Is it worth it?

    • @randymay
      @randymay  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think the printer is worth it just due to the speed and print quality. The multicolor is just a plus really.

    Do you miss the LIDAR on your enclosed P1P ? Are they basically the same print quality wise (i.e. LIDAR is a gimmick) or do you still like the X1C much more ?

    • @randymay
      @randymay  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I've been printing with both the x1c and p1p and the quality seems to be pretty much exactly the same.

      Been messing around with mine for a few weeks now, awaiting the arrival of my p1s so I can print a case like that.

      I have been using mine for basic thinking like controlling the color of my shop lights and turning on and off my ventilation system.
      I do plan on using it as a key for a Cyberpunk inspired EV swap car that I'm going to be building on this channel 😁

  • @TheSlurton
    @TheSlurton 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    You said something that was rather alarming to me. If you use the PLA side of the magnetic build plate you have to use a glue stick or the filament may fuse to the build plate?

    • @randymay
      @randymay  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      So people have had it stick a little too well to that plate sometimes making it kind of fuse together and getting it off rips it so it says that you should put a layer of glue stick on there to act as a release agent.

    Great printer for non-technical people, for the most part. Not so great printer for makers. Having quick and easy access to upgradable parts, mods, firmware modifications, hardware etc are all a major plus to many of the other printers out there.
    If you have no plans on modifying or using this for serious production, then it seems to be great. It is pretty much a packaged Voron machine with less functions.

    • @randymay
      @randymay  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah for the most part but you can do product work with these printers. I have been doing that with my P1P prints for months now with no problem. These printers are great for limited run parts or rapid prototyping. I do like having a printer that I don't need to spend hours or days getting set up so I can spend more time working on actually making things.
      At the same time I have nothing against people that like to tinker with the printers and build Vorons. I have a Voron 2.4 350mm kit still in a box due to not having the 40+ hours to get it setup

    There was so much hype around this printer that I had to get one.. First impressions were impressive but then it come to the problems.. It is my "best" printer by stats but not even close to be a go to printer.. Never ever have I had so much tuning to do to be remotely useable.. I understeand why people still preach prusas to be their workhorse.. I mean as soon as I hear notification on my phone I fear of bambulab icon...
    Pros:
    -Fast
    -controled chamber
    -AMS
    -When part is printed without issues it has good quality
    -Good for more advanced materials
    Cons:
    -AMS is unreliable it keeps want my attention
    -Non babmbu materials are not reliable
    -generaly not very reliable (all printers I have - I can just pres print and go to sleep with confidence (even those for 150€))
    -build plates... most need glue
    -bad first layers.. they are kinda good but far from flawless even after many auto and manual calibrations
    -LOUD
    -It is only tuned for speed (as soon as you go slower even your first layer flow is different)
    -not so much common knowledge
    It would be nice to have some presets for generic stuff with less speed..

    • @randymay
      @randymay  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That sounds like you have a bad unit or maybe even just user error. I haven't had these problems with my X1C or my 3 P1P printers... My experience was just unbox, setup and go. I have done no tuning and I use a lot of filament from other companies with no problems

      Okay in your opinion what is the best consumer grade 3D printer in the market right now then?

    • @vipermounts
      @vipermounts 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@randymay All depends what people are looking for. If colour is important then I would say BL otherwise tones of options. Our K1's outshine our BL printers all day long especially now that we have unlocked klipper and full fluid. V400's are faster but no suffer a bit in quality. Prusa Mk4 is much better quality and not that bad for color, also very comparable in speed. Raise 3D is consumer grade amazing for dual color and quality tops BL lab all day long. We have all these printers (over 40 in our farm) and have done lots of testing. BL has made it easy for people who have zero knowledge in printing to get started but we will be hitting a huge waive of these people shortly (BL not built to last) that have no idea how to fix machines and BL made this very difficult.
