  • I did this video for a student a few years back but I thought I'd just make it public. Check the links below for items used in this video. I'm not sponsored by any of these companies. I just used links where I usually buy them. You may find them cheaper elsewhere. This will result in a clear glasslike finish. To kick it up another notch, buff with white diamond buffing compound. This process works well on pens, handles, stoppers and other small turnings with minimal detail. This is not a great way to finish things like finials or other things with lots of fine detail.
    You're Welcome :)
After sanding to 600, seal the blank with Thin CA. Really doesn't matter what brand, but I use this:
    Bob Smith Industries Thin CA

After sealing with thin spray with accelerator...
    Bob Smith Industries CA Accelerator

Next, 8 or more coats of Medium CA, 6 to 8 drops per coat. Use accelerator between coats,
    Bob Smith Industries Medium CA

Wet sand with Acrylic Polishing Pads, Skip the coarsest grit (yellow)
Penn State Industries Plastic Finishing Kit

Polish with EEE-Ultra-Shine polishing wax (any EEE or tripoli polishing wax will work, ie. Acks, Yorkshire Grit, etc..., but I've had the best luck with the one in the link)
