Hi everyone! I'm honoured to be on Artzie! Music is very special to me, and seeing other people appreciate my work is quite amazing! Shout out to my wonderful Future Society Collective! :) Sample is "Light'n Up" by Minako Yoshida on the album "Light'n Up" (1982)!
This channel was a pivotal point in my life. For the first time in my life, I felt like I found the music I was always longing for during my childhoof. Disco, Anime, 80s, all the things I liked combined. I've afterwards learned that I am drawn to things that irritate me a bit. I always hated Saxophone. But now it's probably my favourite instrument. Who else had this experience?
Yo I relate to finding it at a pivotal point. I was coming out of one of the worst depressive episodes of my life and it accompanied me out of it. I hold this genre very close to my heart for that
Same here. This channel helped me focus on school, and have fun without burning out. Good times then, memorable times now, and great times yet to come!
Exact same. Felt like it was cater-made just for me. Very happy to see there were other people in the niche that liked it as much as I did. I aways hid my love of house music and disco around my friends in high school and college lol, because I didn't think they'd understand 😅.
After looking at the gif for so long I've come to the conclusion that whoever worked on this particular scene of the anime must have either A) had a lot of fun doing it or B) was under a lot of stress because of the difficulty of drawing it.
I was looking in the dictionary to find the proper word to use to explain what I feels about this song. It seems that there is nothing better than "astounding" to convey my feelings. Well... "Astounding" it is
Me encanta este género musical, jamás en mi vida había escuchado algo parecido y me encantó, siendo oyente de múltiples géneros musicales siento que este se convirtió en uno de mis favoritos
...You seem to forget that alot of anime in the 80s and 90s were known for their big-eyed, crazy proportioned, spiky haired main characters. That stuff only helped influence today's anime. Of course, not _all_ anime was drawn like that back then. But that goes the same for today's shows! Not all modern anime is a "moe atrocity" like you said LOL
Seeing the video loop reminds me of all of my favorite games with wheels-like The Price Is Right's 'Showcase Showdown', Fox's 'Spin The Wheel', The Match Game's 'Star Wheel', and the like.🌚📺💲

I heavily relate to this, found this genre almost 3 years ago and I still remember how it felt when I heard it for the first time.
The original song is "Light 'n' Up" by Minako Yoshida :D!

If you notice, when she spins it's the same three or so frames repeated throughout, so it may not have been that difficult for the animator(s).
+Jehovah Why do you think we lament that they don't make anime like this anymore :(
@Jehovah
Sounds like rotoscoping to me.
@@Katzelle3 This is not rotoscoping.
@@harrydrake4173 most def not. God, that'd be hell. This is just basic frame substitution. It saves the hands a lot.

I admire the sentimentalism that so often accompanies Futurefunk and vaporwave tracks...even if such feelings are fleeting.
The visuals

The reason why people in anime are thin is becuase japanese people are thin, stop taking cartoons so seriously
playing this one almost every day, great song!

I have this in a playlist somewhere but haven't heard it for a while... thank you based algorithm! This is an iconic classic of Future Funk!
Revisiting this video is like double nostalgia. First this was released almost a decade ago and second it meant to evoke 80-90s style, my generation
i love artzie & the beautiful people who listen to this!

I'VE MISSED THESE JAM-GAMS
This .gif loops nicely.
If you watch her head, it looks like she spins to the right.
If you watch her hips, it looks like she spins to the left.

Also have a happy *Future Funk Winter* for anyone seeing this comment. :D
i liked the part when she was spinning
I woke up with this shit in my head today... feels good. so smooth and energetic
This groove is top among the Vaporwave scene!
Back when anime used to draw properly proportioned characters rather than the moe atrocities we see today.
...You seem to forget that alot of anime in the 80s and 90s were known for their big-eyed, crazy proportioned, spiky haired main characters. That stuff only helped influence today's anime.
