Great way to learn about new music. I chose musicians, and follow who they played with. Then who those musicians played with. Or listen to artists that are suggested as similar. Amazing the journeys you go on.
Hi Vinyl Vault, You've scooped yourself a nice little selection of everything there.....The Rick Wakeman album No Earthly Connection cover comes to life when you place your tinfoil in a cylinder in the middle of both sides of the cover like magic and the music is very futuristic and spacy, a brilliant album, I'm sure you'll enjoy it 🍷🍷👍👌
A few years ago I bought 350 opera CDs for about £140 - by memory - from two different charity shops but from the same donated collection. I had one hell of a job deciding which to sell and which to keep - but as a pro seller, I got my money back in just a couple of weeks just by selling the Kirsten Flagstad / Wagner sets. That many VINYL opera sets would be a nightmare of course. Ahem!
I been looking for that Ini Kamoze record for years dude. I've seen it but it's always expensive. It's got the " out in the streets they call it murder" tune on it, which is titled " world a reggae" on your album. It's a killer album start to finish.
The foil paper that was in the Rick Wakeman record is a gimmick. You're supposed to fold it into a cylinder and place it on the round space on the sleeve and the weird pictures becomes fine when you look at it from the reflecting foil. Kinda neat.
Aladdin Sane should be gatefold, but still a good reissue. Adrian Gurvitz was in the 60s band Gun. The Skids Days in Europa is the rare, withdrawn cover. Scientist albums are a good find.
Dan Hill was a type of light rock music that would be called Yacht Rock today. I think the bridge on the back of the Little John is the Golden Gate in San Francisco.
Lovely pile you made there. Seems people selling records sort of comes and goes in phases at least from what I've seen as does the places you find them. It's the car boots ATM as charity shops are pretty threadbare around here. I've done less scavenging over the past year than in a decade mostly due to my job. Ho hum.
lol I was kind of nodding off after work trying to watch this. Until you pulled out the scientist records. I have maybe 15 of his. I don't think any of them were particularly cheap.
More great finds there, nice. Your comment on plastic sleeves is a bit confusing, the fogging on the vinyl is usually caused by old thicker style (50's/60's) plastic inner sleeves, not the lighter poly lined sleeves. The outer plastic covers on the sleeves cannot damage the record through the cardboard itself. They can however, if very tight or from extremes of temperature, stick to surface of the sleeve ( usually glossy ) and lift some of the printing off in small areas, this is also very rare. In my experience of collecting vinyl since the 1970's and putting everything in plastic sleeves, no problem, it protects the sleeve from damage, finger marks etc, long live the PVC !
Thanks for your explanation. I bought a few records that were in inner paper sleeves but had been stored in outer PVC sleeves and they had fogging so it seemed like they some how reacted with the outer sleeve. I did also see a box of records that had the vinyl directly in the PVC sleeves with no covers and the fogging was horrendous. I did google to see what others say and It's a bit of a wild debate with many disagreements. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
You never know what you'll find inside 2nd hand records , I bought a Todd Rundgren album a few months ago and there was a few old polaroids of a lady posing topless
Some amazing finds. Those Scientist LPs are well sought after. Whoever says different is talking nonsense. The Cult EP is a US import, I can tell by the sticker that's on it. One tribe feat. Gem is a rave anthem. I sold a copy of that for £10 and that was years ago.
I’ve had all my collection in PVC sleeves for over 40 years and am yet to see this so called ‘fogging’ . I live in Australia so perhaps climate plays somewhat in this phenomena . Not sure but never had a issue 🤷♂️
Thanks for letting me know. I did some additional research and its a very controversial topic with lots of people disagreeing on the subject. Anyway I appreciate your feedback. All the best.
@ Seems as though the problem is Polyethylene sleeves that have a anti static chemical which over time breaks down and becomes ‘oily’ and damages the vinyl
I agree with you there ,when i first started watching the channel ,he was getting real bargins at very amazing cheap prices all those Hendrix lp,s for £1 and £2 and a Greenslade one that was in one of those cheap bundles along with that rare lp Lord sutch and heavy friends.
@@thevinylvault Most everywhere is cheaper than a record fair. Be careful, the vinyl thing is at its height at present, charity shop managers are well aware of this! Vinyl in poor condition is a mug's game. There are certainly many bargains to be found in charity shops, but you need to put the legwork in - gain some serious knowledge of what you're looking at! AND look at the damn things. Visit ALL the charity shops you can get to - and learn not to get overexcited. No offence intended, I've been buying from charity shops for over 40 years. (I'm an old fart, but a wise one!)
Do you ever look in charity shops? I've been doing pretty well from them lately, despite discogs making it super easy to look up values. Maybe their staff just came be bothered. Suits me!
Maybe you could become a volunteer for a charity shop and sort and price the records for them. You maybe allowed to take some records home to clean and play test them. I did this for the P.D.S.A until the shop closed after Covid. I’ve also been until recently a deputy manager for Young Lives Vs Cancer for 22yrs. The last record we sold was String Driven Thing’s debut album for £230.
Quite spectacular that Alice Cooper album is still in such good condition. You have done really well there mate. The booter king 😁
Thank you, Loving the new title you gave me. I think I will take that. The Booter King!
Hello my friend, wow you have done it again, some fantastic finds there, take care, cheers, Dave
Thank you! Cheers!

Well said! It's all a great adventure and I like your style. All the best.
Great score! Some nice records there especially the reggae. Scientist and Garvey's Ghost are awesome and worth a pretty penny now too.
Thank you, I appreciate your nice comments and have added those records to my long play list. All the best.

Wow, Doors Strange Days as a first press. Very very cool! I got it recently as a US copy.
Thanks, I am not sure it's a first press.

It's all luck really. I am sure you will find one soon and thanks for stopping by and dropping a comment. All the best and good hunting.

Correct I did when it originally came out in the 70’s.

What boot sale do you find all these great deals at?
🤫

Yes, I have had some interesting finds but noting like that.
Not sure about that Aladdin Sane album. Should be a gatefold sleeve. Never seen one like that!
I will take a closer look. Thank you.
Great haul, I would advise you to listen to the Talk Talk albums 'Spirit of Eden' and 'Laughing Stock', timeless classics.
Thanks! Will do!
Hi, The Alice Cooper album is not music of love but MUSCLE of Love. Just thought I would let you know, I like some Alice.
Thanks, I hear you.
Nice finds.Which car boot sales would you recommend for random record pickings?thx
Thank you. Just get out and about the more the better as you never know which day and event will be the best.

Thanks for the offer but its staying with me for the moment. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.

Scientist LPs are all wicked and expensive to buy for first presses. The Ini Kamoze is one of the best reggae albums ever made.
Thanks, I appreciate your comments.
Today i found the first 2 Cramps lps... Canada pressings mint !!!
Nice one, pleased you are getting results.
How many dd you get, £186 seems a lot for what you got. I think you've done yourself there.
Not sure, did not count them. I was fairly happy with the price. cheaper than the record fair.
