5:07 - That Adam/Ants 'Zerox' single, I have a rare version of that - Like the one you found, the cover of mine has 'Whip in My Valise' as the B side, also says 'Whip in my Valise' on the record label... however, mine PLAYS 'You're so Physical'. I read somewhere, around the time that AAtA went big, that the 'Physical' B side was a limited edition, and a number of them were accidentally mis-labelled as 'Whip...' - the production line was apparently corrected, but some with the labelling error did get out of the factory and into circulation. I don't know what it might be worth currently, but did see it on Discogs a couple of yrs ago with a 'highest' sold value of just over £80.
@@SimbianMinistry nice item, that is a rare copy you have amazing song, the photograph is lovely on the cover, i first heard the track late 1980s, loved it was not aware of track until 1986, a discography in adam and the ants annual 1983 was where i found out about it, the track is amazing, im going to see him live next year, 10 times now since 2013, he plays the song allways .
@@markgreet3543 Thanks, I got mine at the height of The Ants' fame, around the time of Stand and Deliver/Prince Charming - so probably late '81... Big Ant fan at the time, I was in the process of collecting their earlier singles. Found it in a small record shop in Darlington (Long gone now, sadly) - Thing is... it was 2nd hand, cover only average condition, but plays cleanly... I don't think the original owner knew what he had, nor the record shop owner... I only paid 75p, maybe £1 for it from the rack of bog-standard 2nd-hand singles... and was surprised when I played it, to find it had the 'wrong' song on the B side. The original owner maybe never played the B side, who knows... their loss, my (very unexpected) gain.
@@SimbianMinistry young parsians was a hit single played on the radio, however they did play zerox as it was only 45 in the charts such a cheek, but i bought 4 or 5 albums in the 1980s, seen him live 9 times,,his tour is reschedule now to next year with the ticket being able to use.
I'm in my 60's now and OAP (Old Age Punk). Back in 1977 I used to go see a lot of punk bands at Middlesborough Rock Garden, on the Monday morning I would be straight to the record shop to buy the record of the bands I saw that weekend. Still got most of them. Name a punk band and I've probably seen them. The first gig I went to was the Pistols, they were under the alias Acne Rabble. Don't remember much about it, apart from shitting myself, there was definitely an atmosphere. Great video. Cheers.
I had all Clash, Sex Pistols, Adam Ant, Specials, Madness, Blonde, Jam 7" in mint, 100's tapes, cd's 2,000 vinyl records sold all to pay for dads funeral 22 years ago
Dirge were an old eighties anarcho band from Leicester, that's their demos on LP, released a couple of years ago..There's been so much new anarcho punk since the Crass days. Bands from all over the world, loads from Spain for instance over the last fifteen years or so releasing loads of records. It's a huge underground scene again. La Vida Es En Mus is a London based label and website that carries a lot of the new bands. Some of them are great. Zounds, Steve Ignorant etc still tour regularly. Lot's of young people appreciate that political punk. Btw that Nation of Ulysses album you flicked past is a great early nineties punk album. Really high energy and exciting.
Tony Hill from The Answers went on to John Peel favourites The Misunderstood who released a few single on Fontana then on to heavy progressive rockers High Tide who released a couple of albums on Liberty records. Bolan isn't on the first two Columbia label John's Children singles but appeared on some of the Track label ones. Drummer in the Bo Street Runners was Mick Fleetwood later of Fleetwood Mac.
