I have a couple of Rexton CIC (prescription). The app screenshots of the Sony OTC app look exactly like my aids app. It's the same technology over and over again among different trademark. I am pretty sure that I could set up those Sony, and even my aids, properly on my own. Then again, my audiologist is able to walk the extra mile and be able to fine tune them in a way I couldn't. And the cost of those Sony does not differ greatly from the cost of my Rextons at Costco in Europe, only that the latter come with unlimited audiologist service. Do not underestimate its value, specially if they are your first hearing aids.
Hi Doc, I am hoping you can help me. I am trying to find a charity to donate to that gives people hearing aids without any cost to them. Do you happen to know of a reputable charity that does this? Thank you.
Hi Cliff. In your unsponsored youtube review of the Sony cre-e10 a few months back you expressed some fairly significant reservations about its high frequency amplification and directionality capabilities. Do you still stand by those views?
Do OTC hearing aids have the same quality and technology as prescription? I don’t have hearing loss, I have SPD (Sensory Processing Disorder) so I can’t really get prescription from insurance since my hearing technically comes up “normal”.
