Currently recording new music and getting ready for the CRUSHING THE ENEMIES OF METAL ANNIVERSARY TOUR 2023 Joey and Michael explain how and why they choose certain techniques to get ready, going from 175 to 200 to 275 BPM in a session.

I saw this live and it's a lot of fun. For 10 minutes they jam this Spanish guitar sound with a lot of arpeggios. Michael Angelo Batio was made for MANOWAR. He fits like a glove.

Joey is a special type of crazy, I'd imagine he'd be near impossible to duplicate. Which is EXACTLY why he's so fun to listen to.
Why is does his bass neck is so slim?

@@Cestariarts He is using a piccolo bass. They tend to have smaller neck widths
Who plays bass?? Now seriously, with all my respect for this great musician, I will never even get to half of his technique, but...he doesn't play the bass, he plays that hybrid instrument of his own creation.
My mind is blown. This is a match made in metal. Cannot wait for hopefully new MAB and Manowar material alongside the classics.

Funny thing is that I have seen Joey play on that bass for so many years yet still I can't wrap my head around the fact that his playing is so so clean... The man is a wizard, I tell ya.

I listen in the past days so often to the Gods of War-Album and one of my biggest wishes would be a DeMaio/Batio-Moviescore. Not watched yet but I know it will be amazing. Loved MAB from way back after finding the original speed kills on youtube in the mid 00s. As for Manowar I have seen them 6 times live and will make sure to attend one or more shows next year...ok let's watch now....edit, hell yes...definitely play fast shred songs like "The Power" on next year's tour please.

@@joeydemaio4522 Hail, brother :-). Is it different to what you are using i.e. on the Kings of Metal? I have seen you in Frankfurt and Erfurt breaking the strings on this bass guitar at the end :-)

I remember back in high a friend had turned me onto Manowar. Wheels of fire 🔥 was the first song I listened to then I heard sting of the bumblebee that just blew my mind
