- Ever since I played Super 1-1 World, many people have been asking if there would ever be a 1-2 Super World. And today my friends I am here to tell you...somebody has indeed made it. This 8 world, 39 level super world features 39 levels of the iconic 1-2 from Super Mario Bros...except that every level has a unique twist!

Dont blame a MM2 player for taking advantage of cheese in a level. That fault is squarely on the level designer. So many of y'all are acting like you've never seen ANYONE play this game before, lol

Yeah, I've got to 2nd this. I don't mind DGR seeing if the cheese could work but it's not like he has to worry about running out of lives doing the levels the "correct" way and doing them the correct way would have been more interesting to watch
I like the dedication to 1-2 but they should have just made the top indestructible so you couldn't cheese most of them.

Yeah this made the video pretty boring that he just cheesed every level. The creators should probably make it so you can't run on top of the level.

Anyone who has played 1-2, they know that cheese exists. And this level designer even knew it too. So why only prevent it sometimes, rather than all the time?
If you got the first clear on 4-4, then no one has ever seen worlds 5 through 8! You have to do it for the people!
Maybe. The later levels can still show up randomly in endless modes and/or played with the level code
@@Mike-uh5xl Technically, yes, but having the first clear in that level still means no one has gotten past it until now within the Super World. Even if some of the individual levels of worlds 5-8 have been beaten via other means, the fact still stands that as pf the recording of this video, no one has beaten the entire Super World yet.
I love seeing Dave's brain process trying to remember the Wizard of Oz at 7:40 where he goes to the dog first, which makes him think of Toto's song so he says Africa lol
I don't think it had anything to do with totems. There's a musical group named Toto, and their most famous song was titled "Africa".

Make sure to get tested for rabies as bat bites are sometimes hard to notice and MANY people have gotten bitten, not realized, and died a horrible, awful death from rabies. Doctors recommend getting tested for it anytime you come into contact with bats. Stay safe Dave.
They can carry rabies, but no more often than possums or raccoons. Bats get a lot of bad rep, they don't need additional slamming. That being said... if you see a bat just kind of hanging out in the wild, in the middle of the day... it's best to avoid that one, because that particular one could likely be one of those few carriers I literally just mentioned.
Level makers prepare. Start on your "1-3, but...." levels so Dave doesn't get bored :P

That first row of blocks looks to be one space lower than it should be. And that's gonna keep driving me crazy
I'm so glad you said that because literally the first thing I thought of when he loaded into the first 1-2 level was "were those starting blocks always that low?"
I feel the pipes doesn't have the space like the normal 1-2 either, feels to be a bit too close to each others

@@marioman1242 Not only are they lower, but they seem closer to the solid blocks after the first blocks were in the original (*). It was "1-2 but it's after 1-1". The title didn't say it was exactly a one-to-one recreation, but it feels like that was implied. There were actually a few things that seemed compressed along the length of the level.
(*) EDIT: DUH, of course they look closer if the row of blocks is usually one block higher, it's GOING to look closer... but after looking at the tiles on the ground it's still the correct 2 blocks away.
1-2 in 3D is oddly one of the coolest things I've ever seen.

On the level with the SMB2 mushroom, it isn't a soft lock just if you break the blocks, but it is a soft lock going down the pipe if you don't have the key.
So a _double_ softlock...
Dave making the saw jump made me shout "woah!" irl, I was shocked too 😂
I like how dave is as nice as possible about the world even though he's a bit bored by it.

The first set of 5 blocks is too low but otherwise they seem faithful.
I feel like the pipes are a bit close too. But I could be wrong.
I think they really should have cheese proofed that roof skip. I know it's not neccesarily that faithful then but it would generally make the levels feel better in quality. Still, some really good concepts here!

If you had a bat in your house you should definitely talk to local animal control. Bats carry rabies and it will stay on any surface they touch.

I missed the old DGR vids off stream so this was really refreshing! Bring back more of these please since I feel like the connection with the video viewers are better this way.

I think the soft lock in the Out of Order level was put there on purpose, as in that's the point of the level, its 'out of order' so its dysfunctional. Cool design, that one.
Now time for 1-3 World!
I love all these 1-1 and 1-2 worlds. I definitely want to see more. Btw, my 4 year old son Theo loves your videos. He always pretends he's playing the game with you, haha. He's one of your biggest fans. He's always asking, "Can I watch DGR?" I definitely appreciate the content, and that it's a family-friendly channel that my whole family can enjoy. Thank you for doing what you do.

Introducing 1-2 Epilogue!
19 new 1-2 levels! They are:
- More Hard
- Have Less Cheese (probably)
- More Creativity
I’ve also remade 2 old 1-2 levels for your enjoyment! (There’s also a sequel level)
I have uploaded the levels at the same ID I uploaded the super world so unfortunately no new super world.

I really wish all of these levels incorporated the starting pipe and ending pipe(s) that took you back to the overworld or warp zone. Could do a lot of creative stuff with those. And it's kinda weird how low to the ground the first line of ? Blocks is.
Come on, where's the 7-3 Super World! (And the 1-2 Warp Zone should have sent you to an anti-softlock)

The first one should be called “1-2 but it’s not a sub-world” since in the original game the level is in a sub-world that then has its own sub-sub-world, making it impossible to recreate in Mario Maker 2.

The long awaited sequel
there's an old flash game, not sure if it's been converted, called this is the only level, I think. but it has this similar concept of the same level layout but with a twist for each stage.
Why is he so caught up on there being softlocks in a level with no checkpoints? He even mentions putting in spikes to allow you to kill yourself when you would literally lose the same amount of progress by just clicking restart.
Pet peeve is that they could have just made the level in a sub world so the flagpole could be like it is in the game. AND the ? Blocks at the beginning are 1 block too low. Yes, I know it’s nit picky but still it’s not that hard to raise ? Blocks 1 block higher

People in 2195 casually making a super world based off of 8-4 but with a twist and ending a whole series of super worlds that also take on this idea:
Beating the speed panel version by just staying on the top route for fewer obstacles is true to classic 2D Sonic the Hedgehog level design principals. Still needed to be agile to get up there quick enough to not run out of time.
Can't wait for part 2!
