      I doubt the past owners allowed it or had a deal with them.
      They just saw that the house was vacant and most of the time there was no one around to stop them doing as they pleased.
      It’s no coincidence that they showed up to use the pool _after_ OP left the house.
      The neighbors probably thought they’d be gone through the night, or at least several hours.

    omg, the parking one hit so close to home. I used to live in a townhouse, and each house in the development had two assigned parking spaces. The neighbors had two teenage daughters, so every time I'd come home from work or being out, both my spaces would be taken by cars. I'd go next door and knock, but the mom would pretend that she had no idea whose cars they were. So one day I got on my cell phone, walked into the front yard, and pretended to call the towing company (it was spring, so everyone's windows were open). Within seconds, two kids ran out to move their cars. But they kept doing it, so the next time I called the towing company for real from inside the house. When the truck got there, two kids bolted out the neighbors door, and at least one of them had to pay to have the car unhooked. That's what finally stopped the annoyance.

    • @abiean222
      @abiean222 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      to be honest, after the first time asking someone to move their car from my space, i'd just call the tow truck. entitled people like that won't stop until there are consequences.

      When OP said something like 'he doesn't know when to stop!' I yelled at the computer. This guy totally knows where the 'stop line' is. The fact that he changes his behaviour to go past it clearly shows he knows exactly what he is doing.

    First Story: How the hell does the neighbor have 9 cars parked in the street? Why the hell do they have 9 cars?! The fact they have these cars just to hog parking spaces is messed up. Costing someone $100k is suppose to be petty revenge!?
    Second Story: Wow, this guy is a total douche for what he did to OP. Lmaoo I would’ve done the same thing to a person like this. This guy brought this to himself. Good luck on constantly paying those attorney fees
    Third Story: Chris sounds like the type of person people try to avoid at all cost. There is no way this man is 30 years old and acts like the way he acts. All OP did here was tell the truth but this petty revenge was delicious
    Fourth Story: The typical signs of envy. OP’s manager was just jealous. Good on OP for screwing her over
    Fifth Story: All they had to do was stick to the original agreement. Instead they decide to do the same thing over and over; and then they decide to break into OP’s property to use their pool

    Story 1. Pro tip. If the City forces a non-permitted structure to be removed, it is not out of pettiness. Existing structures are legalzed all the time... however if the structure does not adhere to City Bylaws and Building Code, (even with alteration considerations that could bring it up to code), that means it's either grossly unsafe or very, very far outside of any variance approvals, (ex. Height). Basically this homeowner likely built a structure that the City in good conscience could not allow anyone to dwell in today and 10-20 years in the future. The world is full of Karen's and Kevin's and they build a lot of death traps.

    I'll never get over the fact that rslash keeps confusing the subreddit's "pettyrevenge, prorevenge, and nuclearrevege. It's not about the damages or costs from said revenge, it's the revenge itself.
    So the first story was petty because he called the city inspectors over cars parked on the street too long. That's pretty petty, wether the revenge cost 1000-100000 it's the same because the revenge was out of pettiness.

    • @guitarbass22
      @guitarbass22 2 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      First off, are you a mod on those subs? Or do you know one personally? Lol. Because I think there’s a lot more that goes into the hierarchy of the revenges than what you’re implying. I’d say somewhere in the middle of the “cause” vs the “effect” (why the revenge happened vs the aftermath, which is the $100k price tag in this case).
      Secondly, the $100k was caused because the OP called the city inspectors over the unit in their backyard, which is only connected to the parking issue tangentially, as it provides background as to how they could be that stupid. But even without the car parking issue, I’d hope that OP would still call about the illegally built building, and cost them $100k regardless.

Despite the high cost, the imposition on OP was just an annoyance, and, even more importantly, the amount of effort OP had to put in to exacting revenge was almost nil. I have a similar story to the bad manager one. A while back I committed an armed robbery, so that's on my record for life now. About 15 years ago I was applying for a job as a help desk technician for a telecom provider. Now, it's illegal to discriminate based on criminal history unless the offense substantially relates to the job in question. Such as a pedophile being ineligible to work as a school teacher. Since I robbed a store, that in no way relates to help desk support. But anyway the guy doing the interview apparently didn't read the application much, because he didn't see the felony disclosure until we were in the middle of the interview. He immediately closed the folder and said "Well we don't hire felons here, you can see yourself out." When I told him that his decision was literally against federal law, he smirked and said "Well we have a legal team and you're unemployed. Have fun with that."
    Anyway a few years later I'd clawed myself out of the hole, and had a respectable career working for a defense contractor as a business analyst. One of my side duties was to come in on new hire trainings and help walk people through how the proprietary database works. And on one such day, guess who I saw sitting in that new hire training? A-yup, Mr. 'Have Fun With That' himself. He got white as a sheet and at one point straight up asked me if we were going to have a problem, and I just said "Here, we follow the law. As long as you can manage that, you'll be fine."
    He was fired six months later for literally forging someone's signature. And he claimed it was OK because it was just to save time. Like, he knew the guy would've signed the contract if he sent it, so he just signed it for him to save time. And no amount of anything could get through to this guy that what he did was literal forgery.
    Some people are just unemployably stupid.

    Story 1 I can relate. I live in a big city and every freaking house has 10 or 12 cars parked on the front lawn or street and for some reason nobody uses a driveway. Alot of the houses are small and old so I know they don't have that many people living in them . Most cars never get moved 1 house around the corner from me has a Honda civic and Ford escape that's been sitting in the road unmoved for 8 years. It's ridiculous why do people need so many cars when they don't even drive all of them. I bet the insurance bill must be outrageous.

    My first home was a foreclosure that sat vacant for a couple of years while the bank obtained clear title in order to sell the property. On the day I closed on the property I went to the home to make a list of the repairs that would be necessary before moving in. There were two cars parked in the garage. As I stood in the driveway a lady came from across the street and explained that, since the house had been vacant, when bad weather was forecast she and her neighbor would use the garage. She offered to move the car and I told her it wouldn't be necessary since I wasn't moving in for some time. During this the other neighbor walked up and was a complete ass, demanding proof that I had bought the house. I told him I was more than willing to provide that proof to the police and that I would go ahead and call them. That was the beginning of a feud that culminated in his swimming pool ending up with 20 blue toilet disks in it...enough for about 40,000 1.8 gallon flushes. He knew it was me but couldn't prove it...poor guy.

    Second story - She should have filed a theft report with the German police and informed them completely of the situation. Told them he returned to the US and led her completely on about returning there, show them all the details of stuff being sent and the harassment from the US lawyer, who should have realized that harassing a non-US citizen can land them in trouble from the bar. Then watch Germany involve either Interpol or go direct to the US embassy. OP can also go to the US Embassy and file a complaint about their citizen.

Finally I lost the plot when I had been away for 3 days and they left it running without a lid, I scared them so much they never came back...I also installed outside automatic lights that were like those lights when getting interrogated and would wake me up if they came over. Wait, so if an American marries someone from another country... that someone can't petition to have a divorce because they are not a US citizen? Isn't that predatory af? Like what if the dude simply refused to allow his foreign wife to leave or allow the divorce, she'd be forced to stay married with that guy no matter what?

  • @victoriawilliams2786

    The first story: Chances are the "ex husband" is intentionally not sending the required divorce documents because he can use the excuse "she won't sign the divorce." as a way to NOT marry the 21 year old. And the Attorney's fees are just what he has to pay as the price for his freedom to do as he pleases in the US, without being tied down by marriage.

    Last story, if they don't pay you, put a lien on their house. That depreciates their value and credibility until they pay you. Pretty sure that also means their rents is legally meant to pay your lien before they can collect. A lien is basically a way to ensure you're paid what you're legally due. But I'm getting this from a more professional setting, I still don't see why you couldn't use it this way.

    Story1: I normally am not one who approves of ratting out neighbors, but since they were griefing OP by illegally parking and refusing to move their vehicles AND they were building illegally, good for OP! He could have reported their vehicles as well but he didn't.
    Story2: OP dodged a bullet by staying in Germany. She probably could sue her ex for the value of her belongings as its not possible for her to go there to get them herself and all he has to do is mail them. I bet the person e-mailing her is not even a real lawyer- unless the lawyer is stringing him along on purpose to get more $ out of him. I wonder if OP is married on paper in the US. That means the ex can't re-marry in the US.
    Story3: Spreading gossip about other employees can actually get people in trouble. My friend's dipshit gf used to work at McDonalds and they actually sent her home for spreading gossip. She apparently blabbed the personal business of a co-worker to the mother of the co-worker's child (who did not work there) & caused drama for him. Gee, why did OP unfriend someone who slandered them? I can't figure it out. LOL. I think OP did the girl a favor by letting her know what kind of jerk Chris was. Better for the girl to find out then than later on when she's more attached. Good for OP for finally speaking her mind and getting it out and telling him just what a jerk he is.
    Story4: LOL. I love stories where someone treats someone badly (well, I don't like the part where they treat someone badly) but then end up applying for a job or needing approval of some sort & the person they bullied gets to have some karmic revenge by rejecting them or causing them to be rejected.
    Story5: It's bad enough to park in someone's driveway, but to use their pool? That is a legal liability. If one of them gets hurt or someone drowns, OP is legally liable. Trespassing pieces of crap! Sounds like OP needs fence around the pool too. Oh, there WAS a fence and the neighbors cut it. I had neighbors do that to my fence before and it pissed me off. So, we have trespassing repeatedly AND vandalism/destruction of property. If the neighbors refuse to pay within reasonable time, OP can go back to court and get a lien put on their house. I had people I didn't even know who thought it would be fun to bust my gate open and go joyriding all over my front lawn trying to run my dogs over. When I went outside and told them to stop it, they flipped me off, laughed, and kept chasing my dogs and tearing up my grass. My brother went and got our M-14 and took out 2 tires with one shot. They started screaming about damaging the tires but he told them the next shot was hitting flesh (he wouldn't have reacted that way if they hadn't been trying to hit our dogs with their 4-wheelers). I also had neighbors who cut my fence to get in and hunt in my yard. They were out shooting at squirrels and I went out with a rifle and told them to gtfo and never come back. I live on a dead end so no one can just drive by my yard and there is zero reason for anyone to come here unless they are delivering a package or have been invited.
