Tried this car yesterday to replace our leased ID.3 and I loved it. The infotainment seems much responsive than many reviews that was made 1-2 years ago complained about.

@knockout4121 Did you get it? I am also thinking of getting it in Sweden maybe 2021-2022 model. Used one that has gone around 1500-3000km goes for around 350-380 000 SEK I think I will go for the Luxury model but would like the Bose system also.

@@Jorsten Yes I’ve had it for 6 month now. I got the 4 wheels motion, but my plan was getting the 2 wheel motion so I could have an extra frunk. I am however happy I got the 4 wheel motion, because of norwegian winters. It is A LOT of car for your buck, and a very comfortable car. The only minus is the small trunk. Infotainment system is good enough, it doesnt bother me, even if its not the quickest, its not a problem. I can recomend it, even if I some trouble in the beginning, things seem to be working fine now.😊

thell Mg to increase the range (battery) and update the nav to include charging when selecting long trips.

it's interesting youtube is home to good European EV car reviewers. However if ignore the metoo channels, like fully charge and electrifying, there are gems. SDA cars in Bern do the best POV driving videos. However the rest of the car review is always everything is great. Bjorn has the best Headlight, braking, acceleration and good 1000km challenges. Mr EV is a delight when his wife joins in with the reviews. Our host here does a good job of the car reviews with good comparisons and the Sunday show is always worth a watch, plus the cat is nice.

When you mentioned a 65kw usable battery I assumed it'd be 350km+... A lot less than 300!?!
i drove the Marvel R mostly on 80-90 km/h roads and some 100 for a couple of minutes and I got a solid 340 km range. For a big car that's comfy and pretty quick acceleration it's good.
The demo car I got for two days however had a very laggy screen so I won't buy it in the end.
Don't be sorry, you are not mean, but honest. This car might be premium in China, but Europe has more than enough premium SUVs, MG should focus more on cheap, but quality cars.
Thanks for sharing your real world experience; that is useful for car buyers. MG Marvel seems to be moving up into a higher price range while it is not as polished as the VW group products on the MEB platform. Maybe the MG4 will offer value to compete with Opel Corsa at a cost significantly less than VW ID.3 🤔.

Great real-world video! I presume after the new MG5 video and now this we may see MG ZS EV Long Range soon? 🙃I know MG were ironing out software issues across all cars, I presume the fact you've now been able to film means they're happy with them all now?
Why can't people understand that you don't buy the car for the infotainment system?! Even if you think this is a dealbreaker you might have the mentality that MG might update it in near future, but even if they don't this isn't the biggest thing in the car. The handling of the car and comfort etc should be the priority, how the car feels to manouver etc and some other features that are important to you or your family. I have owned an ev for 2 years now and I don't care about the infotainment since I rely more on carplay than the manufacturers own software and navigation. Please , as someone already have mentioned, be a bit more open minded and also take into consideration that the things you test with so little time that you maybe haven't thought everything through(of course this would happen no matter who does these tests when having so little time).
Also, to others, keep in mind, there are so many factors involved in range, so it can have a big difference depending on how "you" drive and where you are from due to speed limits etc.
Having said this, it is easy for me to comment when seing this one year later than when the video was published. It isn't an easy job to make reviews but the things I mention are just to make people aware that everything is said isn't always as in this particular video. Opinions and results differ depending on anticipation, reference, experience and action. I'd say, that this car is outstanding for its price today, that is my opinion, it doesn't have many competitors in terms of size and price and the specs that it gives. Economi isn't as bad as stated in this video due to other speed limits elsewhere and when taking a longer trip in rl scenarios , ex, in Sweden, you cruise between100-110 mostly on highway and 70kmph on country side roads. Have videos of Swedish reviewer compares this car with other cars in same size and it isn't thurstier than the competitors. Others who own the car say the same thing.

Hei, some owners said that the touch screen is not responsive and very laggy. how would you say it was at your time of filming? is it an software issue and can be fixed with update or is the screen is just low quality ?
I have a second video with the car. This is about that issue.
It seems like both reviewers and owners disagree strongly on this point, some says that it's slow and unresponsive, some says it feels fast and responsive. I had a chance to try one out last week, and tbh I didn't feel any problems with the display. Maybe it has been solved in a software update or might have been upgraded in a newer version.

I hope they improved the marvel r infotainment system, back then it was aweful.
One of the many rebadged SAIC models hence the lack of family resemblance.
Just was watching with a more analysis of your review thinking it could be your review style that Mercedes doesn't like and possibly other car makers who won't give you press cars. It felt abit like you were being very negative on everything and not a single positive item about it so maybe try to think about positives and negatives or maybe constructive criticism about certain things you don't like which will give the manufacturer input on how they can improve it for either their next car or with a software update even. In the end up to you but figured I would take a more objective view this time since I know MG hasn't given you a car to test either and these were from the dealer so very limited time with them.

@@BatteryLife Maybe it's just the words are too strong. Thinking from watching other EV TH-camrs they tend to temper their language and either compare to other EV's or use constructive criticism which the company can then use to improve their product for the next time or in a software update depending on what the issue is of course.
Still like your reviews just thought I would look at it as maybe it was the way you reviewed that was putting off some of these companies from providing you press cars. :)
@@TassieEV , I like the wording that he uses. But maybe that's because I'm Dutch. That's the way we tend to communicate here in NL 🙂. I would be very frustrated with this car as well. Too much lag in the infotainment, the scrolling issue, no bass, no way of planning trips with chargers, high consumption, slow charging etc... That's not something you describe with political words. That's just crap 🙂
Don't use navigation during driving, that is so irresponsible and dangerous. Set destination before start, need to change destination? Let passenger do it or find a spot to stop and do the change. Your driving is actually very irresponsible with so little attention towards driving.

I have tested over 35 different EVs. I know how cars can drive. Very interesting that the part about driving is annoying you, but that the range is poor and the consumption is high, is fine for you 😉
@@BatteryLife , haha, I think you just crushed someones biggest investment they've ever made. And righfully so. This car's software is crap. Upside could be that the underlying hardware is ok (which I assume). That could mean that with future updates a lot can be fixed. The lag, scrolling, charger options, charging speed, perhaps even the bass could be fixed with software. But with what I saw in the video, this car is not on par with some of the other cars around.
I know, I don't have an MG but I had a test drive and I can't speak about everything, but as for the infotainment he is just wrong and can't stop complaining from start to finish. If the touchscreen doesn't respond when you hardly touch it, the thing to do is touch it just a little harder instead of keep doing the wrong thing and expect it to work. I really didn't have to slam on the screen to make it work, that's BS. The driver's assistance settings are harsh when you set them on high. I got that info in the showroom. I bet he didn't even want to put it in a lower setting, he probably expected the car to handle differently in the setting he thought it should be. A good car reviewer should know a driver has to adapt to the car he's driving, because every car handles and is set up differently. He just doesn't seem to want to do that. Another thing, did he ever mention the fact that other brand cost $10000 more when you want the specs of this one? That too should be considered. If something is less than perfect, maybe it is because they had to consider the price. By the way, the more expensive cars have major flaws too. I'm banning this channel from my TH-cam suggestions, he's a waste of time.
Marvel R is like the top modell from MG while the mg 5 with the zs is more at the bottom thats why its more expensive to.
Also dont talk about how bad the software is in chinese cars, they gonna ban you like they did with teslabjørn :P
