There are some incredible skills at work here.
    1. Mastering the piano.
    2. Being able to perform live to an audience.
    3. Conducting an orchestra.
    4. Doing all the above simultaneously while looking calm and collected.
Much respect Barenboim. A true musician!

The blending of orchestra and piano is well brought out by Barenboim and the orchestra!

Splendid! Standing ovations!I can barely type on a computer keyboard - Mr. Barenboim churns out the notes like water through a rushing stream with one hand, while conducting the orchestra with the other. Magnifique!

What I admire about Barenboim is that I find him a true musician. Conductor, with, if somewhat uneven results, but he can handle his Steinway any day of the week. Gladly lacking the "pianistic superstar" attitude of say bang bang Lang Lang, Fazil or Valentina - a humble musicality, gentle, kindly - no doubt just like Schubert.

I dont think he is humble at all.
He is an arrogant geazer, and rightly so given his gifts. I personally love what he does though would still like to see him do some of the Chopin etc. ... to see the control vs. Kissin per say. Or Bach , hes odd, original interpretation.
God Bless us all, dig up Glenn, and the dead composers and get a bottle of wine in, and have a real chin wag.

Trentadue Domenico. Cordiali saluti da un suo ammiratore.
