I plan to purchase a pink Kanken but I'm so confused about the colours. A couple of months ago, I remember seeing a blush pink backpack before they renovated their website, now that I try looking for it, it's not there anymore, instead it's the pink one claiming that it's the newest colour, so I would assume that they're the same. In Asos, I saw a pastel pink backpack, so when I checked the Fjällräven website, they don't have the pastel pink, which is confusing me. Isn't the website supposed to have all colours with them? Or maybe it's just the lightning, idk
NO NO NO NO ITS NOT, the classic kånken and the laptop 13” kånken laptop is NOT the same ! They are different, they have the same height, but the classic is wider and more square and it does not have an area specifically made for a 13” laptop. You can fit a 13” laptop inside, but it wasn’t specifically made for it. The laptop 13” kånken backback however is slimmer than the classic (still the same height) but it has an area specifically made for a 13” laptop. HOPE THIS IS HELPFUL !
I know this video was made awhile ago, but I use klean kanteens for water bottles in the side pocket! They're good for the environment and narrow enough for the kånken. Loved the video :)
Hi, thank you for this video. Does the classic backpack fit a 15" laptop? I don't care if the 15" laptop doesn't fit into the sleeve, but would it fit into the general backpack area? I like the smaller size pack, but wonder if it would possibly fit my laptop. Thanks!
This helped me so much! I was looking around online for how to remove the jean stains from the lighter colors and a site mentioned using a magic eraser sponge and some warm water, maybe it will work for yours!
Joey Rose it fits enough for school definitely i fit 2 1 1/2 inch binders, sketch book, notebooks, and a couple pencil pouches. especially if you're in highschool go for the classic since you don't have to carry much.
dish washer soap works really well with removing the stains! :) Also, don't give up on Herschel backpacks so easily! There's a bunch of really cute different styles of backpacks. Some are about the same size of the Fjallraven Kankens!
Hi there! I would say you could fit a maximum of three/four one inch binders in this bag. It is not very deep vertically but its square shape helps to fit more books or binders in it :)
I wouldn't know as I haven't used either of those colours, but I think the royal blue would be lovely as so many people have the maroon colour Kanken :)
Klean kanteen fits great. A little hard to get it in in the beginning but it gets smoother pretty quickly. Good stainless Steele bottle too =) (still haven't found any that fits in the mini though.)
hi :) I'm going into 6th year this September and I decided that I would get a new backpack this school year. You said in the video you used it in secondary school, how sturdy was the bag? Also would the classic size be alright for 6th year because of the extra books and copies you'll need?
I only used my bag for school for 1.5 years and one of those is known as transition year whee you have I books only a large binder. I found the bag a little tight for space the next year and that is why I changed. The bag held up pretty well, I had no issues with straps or with tearing, but the bag did get super dirty and it's near impossible to get that off. I hope I helped you a little bit! ☺️
I used mine for a year and a half of secondary school here, but I often found it a bit difficult to fit all of my books ( I had quite a few) in it for three of four classes at a time as we do here, so I ended up switching to a larger bag in the end! I hope that helps you even a little bit!
Excellent. You're the only Kanken reviewer that mentions the important point about SHORT people not wanting backpacks that rise up over their shoulders or expand beyond the sides of your back. Yes they're a fashion statement. In about a year or so (2019) this fad will be over. A few million closets will have some overpriced, unused backpacks hanging in them :)

I have the same staining problem with my pink one!! I soaked mine in shampoo and it really helped

Jean stains you just can't get out even in washing machine. I stained the lining of my parker and can't remove it 😢

A slim bottle will fit- a 0.6l SIGG bottle, my KLEAN KANTEEN 800 Ml one fits (in the side pockets)
I read a review the person said they get dirty easy and you can't wash the dirt off because they are waterproof.

I don't know of any way other than just spot cleaning it as you go. Like after using it, wiping it down, but that sounds like a lot of work to me!
