Just got a sky blue with cream handles. So very cool. I also wouldn't call it the blue of the sky. It's got a touch of green but it's still on the blue scale. My first one is a fog colour. DO NOT PUT IT IN THE WASHING MACHINE. IT WILL GET MESSED UP.
I ought a Frost green at my college book store. I order a frost green fanny hip pack from the fjallraven online store. The backpack is darker green almost like a deep forest green. I wanted a matching set and I thought I was getting the same color.
@@PonyExpressway I wish I could be enthusiastic about this, but they should keep consistency or at least warn people about it. I just got a reply from the official website how the same colour should look the same on all products. I bought a Kanken sling in Frost green/peach pink in a local store, gorgeous! I like the muted look of the frost green and peach pink really pops. Now, I went to get a Kanken classic at the same store and it looked near black. I really want a matching set because I want to wear it at the same time (I like backpacks but also need to reach for my wallet and phone easily when I don't have good pockets or pockets at all). I reached out to an official reseller and it's been 8 days and no reply. Swell.
chocolatepoundcake oh haha. The purple was another I ordered that I ended up returning. The color was too bright for me. Right now I only have the two kanken to be honest. I have the charcoal grey and the lemon yellow w green straps. I don't like intense darker colors so I returned it.
Oh wow, you returned the sky blue one for light lemon...I hope it won't get stained too soon. Glad to see I'm not alone in my color indecisiveness. Do make another video, showing the lemon one. Not many people seem to have that color. :)
chocolatepoundcake haha!! Hell no you're not alone. I went through the rainbow of these bags before I decided. And I returned these and ordered the yellow from another store. It was old stock from years ago. They don't make it anymore. I can easily make a video just need to find the time. I'll make one soon for you.
Good thing you got old stock - you got the sturdier handle/straps type then. I'd love to know if there are any sites specifically selling older stock, but vendors would think I'm crazy if I asked them, hahah.
chocolatepoundcake funny you should say that because I thought about doing the same thing. Or u could look on eBay. The whole bag imo has changed in quality. The ones being made now I feel don't have near the quality the older ones. My grey is older too but the yellow is older stock than the grey. You can tell by the logos. The logos are a thin cheep looking red fox now. They were pink for the longest time. Light pink then darker pink and now red
Curious what the update is with your backpack now since you've had it for a bit. I'm having the hardest time picking out a color but I can see reading through the comments that you did too lol! I'm considering ocean green, ochre and brick. I'm just worried about color transfer to lighter colored clothes with the darker backpack colors! Has the color you bought gotten very dirty since it's a lighter color and how often do you use it? I also considered sand, fog & burnt orange, ughhhh.
MissRuthless awww yes it's so hard to decide. All the colours are so nice. Well I have only had the dark graphite I have no color transfer test for you cause I mostly wear black clothing. I actually ended up selling those and I kept a lemon yellow with green straps, and bought the orchid color. It's new. You can see it on the fjallraven Canada website. My orchid is rather dirty. I can make a video about it for sure. I also have the fog one too. I have not used it as much as the orchid. But it's a bit dirty also. Honestly the brighter color orchid looks far more dirty when it gets a mark than the grey for some reason. Perhaps cause the marks on the grey are greyish in tone. Will make a video soon please watch for it
Shadow Sublime Yes, please make a video about updated usage for the different colors that you own that would be soo helpful! Also, if in the video you can specify how often you use each bag too and for what like hiking, school, every day, etc? Since you wear mostly dark clothing do you notice your dark clothes creating color transfer onto your lighter colored backpacks especially the orchid? The for replying so quickly 😆
I just saw your comment now but I have made the other video already so I didn't get a chance to answer all your questions in it. I only use the bag as my purse so I go to the grocery store, I put things in it I buy from there or other foods, and I also use it when I go walking around downtown or to the mall. Each bag I have used for the same thing. And I am considering selling my fog one. th-cam.com/video/wH_HiraCQL4/w-d-xo.html
Did you say which color you ended up keeping? Thanks for the helpful review. I bought my first Kanken Dec. 2015, then my second one in the summer. I noticed that the handles & straps are much flimsier on the new one. Last week, I took a second look in a store with genuine kankens, and sure enough, all the new stock is the same way. I only found one Maxi model with the thicker straps like mine, which must have been older stock. Can you confirm this, comparing with your graphite kanken? I'm so disappointed as I much prefer the sturdy feel of my older kanken. I worry that Fjallraven is steadily cutting down on quality (while increasing the price).
chocolatepoundcake wow really. Can you send me a picture? After buying these I ended up keeping the frost green. But then I really thought it was far too dark. It doesn't look like it does on a lot of the online pictures where it really looks like a mid tone of turquoise. This one really looks dark even outside which I found very disappointing. The sky blue is much lighter and depending on the light it can take on a turquoise color or a blue color. I ended up exchanging the frost green for the sky blue simply because I prefer lighter bags. And I also got a yellow kanken recently and I think it was made before the gray one even. I don't notice anything about the straps but I don't know what I'm looking for specifically. Can you describe? Also thanks for the compliment on my review
I can't take a picture right now, plus it wouldn't really show the stiffness of the handles / straps very well. The weave seems to be tighter on the older one; the material appears the same. I first got lake blue and then ochre, which is too new to tell how it wears - but I don't find the material as dirt sensitive as many complain (I find nylon - like Lesportsacs - worse). I've been using my blue one for work every day for 11 months and it's doing well - only the handles show a bit of chafing at the top where they meet. I had a bike accident and fell on the side, so there is a microscopic hole. Next to no staining. As unnecessary as it is for me to get yet another backpack, I love it so much that I've been considering the frost green or sky blue, coincidentally like you did. In the store the other day, with bright lighting, the frost green did seem very dark compared to the ones I've seen on the streets. So either those ones had faded...or Fjallraven changed the hue a bit.
chocolatepoundcake what have the frost green ones you have seen on the street look like? I was thinking too they must have changed it because of how dark it is. I can't imagine this one fading to that lighter color I seen online because it has a brighter teal color to it where as this has a very grey neutrality to it. What do you think.
hey! so i ordered my kanken from zaps because the shipping from germany to hawaii to get one from the official kanken website was outrageous and i'm just wondering if a nankeen is supposed to come with that little nankeen booklet i see everywhere??
Ok i have q question why does the other kanken have shorter handle and the other has longer..does it depend on the size..because i have the shorter one and thought it was a fake one. Soo yee
since i almost ended up getting sky blue because of this wrong comparison: note that the color that you call frost green is NOT frost green, that is forrest green
Sorry. I know for a fact it is not. It's frost. But you might be confused since the colors have changed over the years and the lighting quality in my room might affect the color slightly.
Bless!! I've been between the two colours thinking they both look a but similar. Now I know I want the sky blue one!
Chloe Hernandez i think u should get the darker one because the color will fade after a while and become obviously lighter
Again your choice!
I really want a blue one but the green will get blue so i got the green one
I just got the frost green one. What a beatiful colour
finally someone does this, it was so helpful
Yes very good point, I order these hoping I'll get the right color!

Yes this happens! Defo are some great variations based on what access to materials and dyes they have I presume

I think you have great taste in bags. The backpacks are so lovely. The effect of the washed grey one is so cool. Very vintage.Love.
Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️
Is the one on the right sky blue? I’m on the website and it looks like mint green. I really like the color, and don’t want to order the wrong one
Yeah I ordered a kanken classic from urban outfitter and the receipt says sky blue which is what I wanted but m pretty sure I got sent frost green
can you upload a photo of it/ or I guess in this case a video. I should be able to tell you
This is really helpful thank you.
just0dara thank you !
I came back to your video because I'm still debating about the color. That's when I wondered what the deal is with the purple Kanken here. :) ?
chocolatepoundcake oh haha. The purple was another I ordered that I ended up returning. The color was too bright for me. Right now I only have the two kanken to be honest. I have the charcoal grey and the lemon yellow w green straps. I don't like intense darker colors so I returned it.

They looked lighter in color, but definitely not like the sky blue. Maybe they become that way over time - with washing and UV exposure.
this looks like Forrest green but maybe its just the lighting
Olivia Sabino sure. Might be plus differences in screen colour gamut. The tag said frost green
@@PonyExpressway thx!
The forest green is much darker (i have 2!)
Thanks! I’ve been confused. This is super helpful :)
Graphite ? Isn't that like Kryptonite ?
