I have a Whirlpool Cabrio WTW8000/WTW8700 washer that is leaking on the left back wall. How to remove the cover to get to the fill valve?
How do you remove the top control panel? I have water leaking from the top right side(when facing the washer) and I cannot access the area to pinpoint where the leak is.
Great video! This is exactly where mine is leaking. The grommets on the valve on the hot and hot/cold mix are visibly mis-shaped. I don’t think I need a new valve ($60-$90 for my model) I just need to replace the grommets. Whirlpool says you have to buy the whole valve you can’t just buy the grommets. Do you know anywhere I could buy these grommets?
Can you put your model number in a google search and check searspartsdirect.com for a diagram of the fill valve to see if those grommets show up.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel It's bad ass! Thanks for the video, I couldn't fix my Cabrio, but it did inspire me to call a good repair guy who told me my 10 year old model would be almost as expensive to repair as to buy new.
Had repair (Sears?) come and they fixed it! They put a plastic valve on each hose(2) and cut the flow by about half? Everything works fine. Don't have to remove anything! Been working fine for several years, no leaks! Bob
Sounds like you have a drain/vent problem. Maybe even backflowing up the floor drain if there is one.
What was the cost for Sears to fix ?
I have a Cabrio WTW6200SW3. Which has a stator type motor. Agitator rollers were worn out, so when it was suppose to be agitating it instead slow spin creating a type of vortex. Which I've seen sling water out over top. After replacing them only a very tiny leak on full load. It would form a half circle leak on right about 1 inch wide. Barely noticeable on a dry piece of plywood I placed under it. I found 1 drop on bottom of stator rotor. Lol. Pumps and their hoses dry. Constant tension Clamps are pretty rusty. Perhaps I'll replace them later with good worm clamps? Might be weak? No leaks/water on tub liner. No leaks on drain hose. Imma check those inlet grommets you mentioned later to. The air dome looks good. Except midway up hose about 2 inchs of it looks dark rust color. It's fasten to suspension rod. Perhaps friction burns? This one has plastic hub lit that appear to also serve to seal in water ? As opposed to a rubber seal grommet on the models with a splines on a steel shaft. Ideas?😮

My cabrio is leaking really bad. I notice more water leaking on the right side (facing) washer. Also, I noticed a film of suds on top of the water. My repair guy suggested replacing it because its leaking from the bottom. He never inspected my washing machine.
I would pull it away from the wall by 2 feet, then lean it back to 45 degrees and look for wet spots to find the leak👍
From what I see, mine is leaking from the same area, inside back top. Seem to stop when I turned the hot side off. Did you have a link to order parts? Or possibly part number for the gasket?

Sounds like you need a new hot water valve for your washer.
Just put your model number in a Google search along with the word hot water valve and you’ll see you about five companies that can send you want to the mail.
They’re pretty easy to install.
Okay, I don't know if you will see this, considering how old the video is. But my family and I have the Whirlpool Cabrio Platinum, and it's leaking. No one in our house is really a handy person, I mean I can put stuff together when I need to. But my family is going through a hard time right now and can't afford to buy a new washer right now. But really my question is, should I try to attempt to fix our washer? And do you have to buy new rubber stoppers? Or is there a way to tighten what you have?
Can you pull the machine away from the wall by about 2 feet and then leaning back against the wall at 45° so that you can see underneath.
Just look for the wet spot and that will give you an idea of where it’s leaking from.
Try to send me a picture of where you see the wet spot.

I had my brother help me and we had the water shut off from it. When we turned it back on, you could hear the water rushing through it. And it immediately started leaking on the floor. It looked like it came from the back of the washer there was a trickle of water streaming down. But we didn’t have to turn on our washer, it just started leaking.
It sounds like the hose that brings water to the washer needs to be replaced.
They are cheap and even Home Depot has them.
Scottthefixitguy is it something I can replace myself? My mom wanted me to thank you for telling us what the problem is. With my stepdad passing, everything seems to be breaking down

Mine is leaking from the front left side and I ran the washer machine with the load, without the load.....placed it on 45 angle and see the water on the left wall but still cant see the source its coming from.

What causes it to leak when heavy clothes are in it?

The heavier the load is the more water will fill in and during agitation cycle it may/around and cause some leaking.
I would avoid washing Things like blankets and bathroom mats
