This Video will show you how to find a leak on your maytag bravos or whirlpool cabrio washer. The leak is caused by the valve which is an interesting little find here. It was common to find this on these models and can be hard to find unless you know the shortcut and this will show you how to get into diagnostics to test what you need to test to find the leak.

Spot on diagnosis of the cause of my leak. For what it's worth, I tried a work around of blocking flow to the detergent dispenser by capping the outlet for that valve - thinking we don't use that dispenser anyway. The washer then identified a low flow fault when trying to fill the tub - so it did not work. Video was very helpful. Thank you.

Boom! After hours and hours of searching for the cause of my leak I find this video. And to make it even better my tech sheets were still in there! Thanks to this awesome video you made and shared, my washer is leak free. The inlet valve was pushing too much water into the bleach dispenser. Thank you. Five stars!!! 😊

I'm glad I found this video. I also have a Maytag Bravos XL that has been leaking water. At first it was only when I ran certain cycles but has gotten much worse recently. I went to a local appliance parts store and purchased this log valve assembly. I installed it and have run several loads since I installed it and I no longer have water on the floor.

Just ran into this today on a service call. Glad to have your video to give me some peace of mind. My manager agreed to change the valve but he hasn't seen this issue commonly. It almost stumped me but i wanted to make sure that the leak was due to pressure and not something else leaking. Glad i got it right but took me way toooo long

Helpful, I have a Maytag Bravo XL MVWB850YW1 that has a similar leak from left front corner. Didn't realize it could be due to too much water following from the inlet valve. Will have a go at replacing that valve.

@beardedappliancerepair thank you for the video. Mine is leaking out the back from right under that log valve. Maybe a valve stuck close? Seems that would be the issue considering coming from directly at/under that log valve location. Would you suggest the same?

Hi there - I tried to do the test you did, but the water did not splash out. I had set the mode to HEAVY as you had mentioned. Does the HEAVY setting test only the pump for where the water splash out? Are there other settings I use for other pumps (such as softener, bleach, etc) instead of HEAVY or do I just use the HEAVY setting and click the TEMP button to go to different pumps?

Thank you for this video. I hate these troublesome washers. I've replaced the clutch, motor, and Barrings on mine, now I guess I'm replacing this. Worst washers on planet earth!

Mine is leaking from the right side. I noticed the leak started after replacing the water valve. 2nd time I replace this valve in 10 years. Last one was giving me low fill error code. No more LF code but it’s leaking from right side. My guess is softener dispenser. Do I need another valve?

Could you just jump that one connector out and it still run correctly? We don't use that detergent fill, but it's showing from there

make sure you dont fully open the water valves! if you do, it will over spray and make it appear as a leak, when really its just the pressure sprays the water too much. Took me forever to find, sadly. Im talking about the valves in the hoses from the wall.

even after putting on a new valve?

I've actually never seen a fix for this issue (I'm new to the field) I have seen the issue (fabric softener dispenser) on my neighbors 2010 maytag bravos mct. However the washer sould be able to handle the full water pressure from your house without any issues so either
A.) Your water valve is bad
B.) Your homes water pressure is way too high
C.) Your washer is severely unlevel.

I just bought a used one where they claim small amount off water would leak from the fabric softener dispenser? I ordered a new inlet valve. But I will try reducing the amount of water coming in first

Y not just put silicone around the edge

    • @BeardedApplianceRepair
      @BeardedApplianceRepair  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

As an appliance service professional I cannot trust silicon will fix it for a long period of time. For DIY sure that would be a fix but just make sure you keep an eye on it. Leaks cause floor damage and replacing a floor is not cheap or fun.
