    Thanks for the review, but honestly, it was like a shell game trying to keep track of the pea: “this one” “this one” “this one” “this one”. For someone just starting to research the market, who doesn’t recognize the different selfie tripods on sight, it got pretty confusing.

    Great review, clearly spoken and really in-depth. Got my eye on the PGYTECH, although I do like a good ball mount.

      Thanks so much!
      The PGYTECH is great for reach, but the ball head on the ULANZI is really nice. It’s hard to choose just one. I think I’ll be carrying both of these and leaving the others behind.

    Also,yes I'm re-watching this,the Ulanzi MT-08 doesn't have the button because the manfrotto has a Patent for that,u might notice Joby also has the button but that's because it's now owned by manfrotto.

    • @MeanderingMax
      @MeanderingMax  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I didn’t realize until after posting this video Joby is part of the HUGE company that owns Manfrotto. Ulanzi might be able to get a modification patent since adding it to their extending tripod would be something different. I don’t know for sure though, patents are tricky and I’m no expert.
      I’ve started to like the way the head works on the Ulanzi anyway,; I found if you keep the screw backed off just a touch and it holds a Sony RX100 or GoPro in place pretty well. It’s been holding well enough so you can work it pretty easily one handed. Hopefully it doesn’t loosen up over time. I’d still prefer the push button, but it’s working well and the one I go to most often.

      The Ulanzi mt-08 checks a lot of boxes and is a nice little tripod, definitely glad I found that one. Thanks so much for the comment and subscribing!

    @Meandering Max umm can u help me with something,on the ulanzi mt-08( ball joint tripod)is the ball joint part of it made of metal,ie aluminium,I'm really confused as to what tripod I should get for my GoPro the Ulanzi 08 or the 09,I think the ball joint would help if it's an uneven surface,what do u think,any thoughts??

    What do you think of mini tripod/selfie stick combinations? Im having trouble coming to a definitive conclustion for a DJI Action 4? Thx

    • @MeanderingMax
      @MeanderingMax  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For small cameras like that (or phones) I think the combos can be very handy. I’m currently carrying a GoPro shorty, but do still really like the Ulanzi MT-08.

    Hi Max. Thank you for this multiple comparison video. As much as I'm attracted with the Ulanzi MT-08, I'm kind of anxious as I have not necessarily big hands but long fingers where it's gripping space maybe a bit short. Perhaps the MT-16 could be more fitting to my hands though that may end up in me having a longer stick (th-cam.com/video/3FTZeQ32vNk/w-d-xo.html). But I'm more in favor of the compact size of the MT-08. What do you think?

    • @MeanderingMax
      @MeanderingMax  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t know, if I grab the MT-08 with my pinky and most of my ring finger not on it I feel ok about it. It might bother some people though. I’ve eyed the MT-16 because of the cold shoe. That would be great for a light which is handy due to the poor low light quality of GoPro.
      I try to keep my kit as compact as possible, but might try the MT-16 someday.

      The red ball itself definitely seems like aluminum, but I’m not 💯 sure what the part around it is. It’s solid though.
      It’s always so hard to pick one... I like the ball head for that exact reason, the flexibility on uneven surfaces comes in handy. I didn’t see the specs for the 09, but if it’s shorter like the GoPro shorty, it would be more pocketable. So that’s something to think about.
      I hope that helps.

      @@MeanderingMax thanks so much,I was so stuck as to how I would know what material it is,the 09 is shorter by maybe half an inch,the only difference is that it will come without a ball head instead it will be a straight up GoPro mount,if ur interested in GoPro mounts there is a relatively new product called the NU_Grip, check it out if u would like,u can hit the creators on instagram,the go by the name NU_Bear,if u do so please tell them my name,it would be a huge favor 👍🏼,thanks again,will subscribe 🍻

    @2:22.. ever wonder why you feel uncomfortable when you ask people for -money- "donations" ??
    because you have a job and money
    ...you have a job and money that afford you the ability to travel the world (mind you, this whilst the viewers you are asking for money from are stuck in their rat race, 10-18 hour per day jobs)
    dont get me wrong, I just described most all of the "vloggers" on youtube and other "social media" and im not singling you out, but rather offering a PSA of sorts to everyone

    • @MeanderingMax
      @MeanderingMax  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sorry, that is on no way asking for donations; that’s not at all what I’m about. Kind of messed up you decided to try to take this approach honestly. I understand my videos aren’t all that, but I’m shocked you could even take it this way. Have you looked at my social media links and/or website? You are absolutely right that even mentioning affiliate links is awkward to me because I don’t want to “sell” anything. I make the review videos because I’ve found others reviews to be helpful to me. Whether I have the same thoughts or completely opposite I find watching people getting into the items much more useful than the marketing from even the best companies. I would of course like to make a little something IF I help the person and they feel buying it through a link I provide, or from these videos someday (if I ever get to being monetized), but that’s only going to happen if they’re helpful and/or entertaining enough that people subscribe and watch.
      I do my best to only use paid links that are of no extra cost to the user and I look for the ones where the user can get something as well, though I don’t spend a lot of time chasing any of these things; I really hate marketing and the way it’s been broken down to a science getting people to buy things they don’t need, can’t afford, or in the worst cases, are flat out garbage.
      I hope to find ways and spread information to help others not fall into the traps, and break free if that grind if that’s what they decide to do too.
      Please do share any ideas. Everyone is different and I’m still trying to find my way while balancing giving info without selling, so I welcome others input.
      I wish you the best and would be really glad to hear if you have ideas to make the videos more helpful for more people.

      Wow wow calm down dude… Ever try googling the meaning of “affiliate links”? He is not asking for anyone’s money at all.
