I just put 50cm OSB lengths in without extra timber supports, tapped them level and locked them in to the trusses with a few screws. No issues at all in 10 years. I think I got them cut down at B&Q and took them straight up and screwed them in place - I also used the waste strips for the back stop. Clear tubs make it easy to find your stuff.

Great idea. Just one question, though: Would it not have been quicker to just cut multiples of the first support piece rather than remeasuring each time?

Not sure it is a good idea to put extra load on roof trusses, that are designed for supporting roof etc 😳
