    3:05 pretty sure the clamp torque is 5.1 Nm

    Mine is brand new on new bike week ols and doing the same and need to give it a good elbow in morning and a pump up n down a few times to like recharge it for a bit but also rises 3 to 4 inches of left over night peice crap! Makes no sence sticks and lever doesn't work but raises itself

      If the cable is slightly too tight then it could creep overnight.
      Unwind the tension, if it's still giving you trouble send it back to the shop or Fox to sort....then get a one up

    Fox increase internal pressure to help this problem and as for lightness this also causes more sticking and there is a new teflon bush now as I have had mine serviced by Fox and it's better now and it's 6 NM but I made a sleave to stop the post going in lower and so have lowered the torque as this helps too stop the post getting lazy. I had the old Transfer and it's so much better, as they have tried to reinvent the wheel and it ain't a patch on the old dropper.

      I will send mine off in a few months after the winter, but at a cost £100 you can buy a one up dropper for that is fully home rebuilable, mine is a few years old now it's lasted longer than my previous dropper

      @@Theclarksonmtb Yes that's fare as I will be sending mine off end of the month as just back from the forest and it's working fine as i had the new bush fitted in the summer and that worked longer.

      I have a 2019 transfer dropper and it's junk. Lasted about a year then got sticky. Cannot service and fox wants $115 us to service. I'm buying a pnw loam with a wolf tooth lever. Much better and lifetime warranty.

    What did you do with that rubber o bearing that is shown on the lowermost? Where does that go? Does it have to move into the top cap?

    • @Theclarksonmtb
      @Theclarksonmtb  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Michael
      Yes that O ring slots under the top cap after tightening, there is a recess for it

    Hallo, i came Across this video which is very helpfull to me.
    I have a few questions:
    Do u need any Special tools for this Rebuild?
    Can u do this while the Dropper is under pressure ?
    All u need is some technical understanding and Slickhoney/Sram Butter?

    • @Theclarksonmtb
      @Theclarksonmtb  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes you can complete a partial rebuild/ clean without special tools,
      Wish I did mine earlier as there was some corrosion on the index pin slots, you can do this with pressure left in

    Good job! 2 months later how's holding up?
    BTW A complete rebuild/Nitro recharge cost me $168 USD on my older '18 Transfer.🤯
    I also have a OneUp V2....for $200 I can get another if my regreasing doesn't work and Transer'21 fails.💸
    The Transfer is nice but not $300 + nice anymore. Cheaper others have surpassed.
    BTW/ Rumor has it in '24/25 is Fox is going e-Transfer. But I gotta think $600 or higher? Not cheap.😜

    • @Theclarksonmtb
      @Theclarksonmtb  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Still working OK, should see me out of the winter, one up are great and can be fully rebuilt at home plus way cheaper...what's not to like, not sure of the weight difference but I'm not overly concerned with that stuff

  • @a.w.mmathijssen7517
    @a.w.mmathijssen7517 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Question, how did you pressurise the dropper? Or how does this system work?

    • @Theclarksonmtb
      @Theclarksonmtb  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The fault was not the pressure, just mechanical, you need a fox tool to regas. Its been working great for a few weeks now👍 if the gas goes down I will probably get it rebuilt by fox...sell it and buy a one up😆

    Hi! i serviced my 2022 transfer but i lost my 2mm ball bearing must be lost in cleaning, i install the bottom cap without noticing the ball bearing was lost, and now i can´t dissasemble the bottom cap because the piston spins with the bottom cap, any sugestion to my problem? i am really scared.

    • @onefortysix6955
      @onefortysix6955 ปีที่แล้ว

      Did you manage to crack it open? You can try pushing the post stanchion at full extension to bind the bottom lug with the circlip and try loosening the bottom cap with small impacts to the wrench you’d be using. Sounds like a 2 man job

    • @ferlopez5410
      @ferlopez5410 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@onefortysix6955 yes, finally i opened the dropper, just aplying a bit of pressure with a seatpost clamp, and reinstalled the ball bearing .

  • @finbarrtimbers3398
    @finbarrtimbers3398 ปีที่แล้ว

    Did you have to do anything special to get the index pins to seat? When I go to push the lower post into the upper, it pushes the pins out.

    • @Theclarksonmtb
      @Theclarksonmtb  ปีที่แล้ว

      They Can be tricky, smother the pins in grease or maybe try a rubber band to hold them, cut the band off when you slide it down

  • @edensgardenshed9622

    I was told by my pivot dealer that the seat clamp on the factory transfer is 3-4nm. Even though the clamp says higher he said fox factory has thinner walls to save weight.

    • @Theclarksonmtb
      @Theclarksonmtb  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried it at lower and the seat post moved alot , I have heard using carbon gripper paste on the post can also help.

    • @edensgardenshed9622
      @edensgardenshed9622 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Theclarksonmtb yeah i use the paste. Just got it 2 weeks ago and already the transfer post is sticking.

    Common problem. I just send dropper to fox, should get it back soon and fixed..

  • @wolkuz
    @wolkuz 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    8nm? way too much, 4-5nm is ok

    • @Theclarksonmtb
      @Theclarksonmtb  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That depends on the frame and material it's made of, its a trial an error thing, start low if the seat moves up it, sometimes carbon gripper paste also helps

    • @wolkuz
      @wolkuz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Theclarksonmtb maybe, just got my transfer from warranty. I used carbon paste and 3.5nm. Dropper is 200mm and aluminum frame. Already 200km works and holds well.
