Something that always spooked me as a kid was in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Red Rescue Team, if you stay on a floor for too long, eventually the music cuts out and you get some ominous text warning you of impending danger. If you remain, eventually it just kicks you out of the dungeon. I was always too scared to find out though.
That shit always spooked the hell out of me as a kid. I remember having my pokemon at god-like levels, and the fact that my pokemon would still get wiped from it reminded me that there was always a bigger fish. I've always wondered what it was.
Interesting, I haven't heard much from the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games so I'm intrigued! I'll definitely add this one to the list, thanks for the suggestion!
I can't believe the game about shitting and taking deuces on people as a dog ends with trying to save your girlfriend from literally fucking dying and then witnessing a woman's last desperate cries as she is mutilated by machinery
It took such a dark turn. Dogs turning gets turned into meat for cat food is already dark, than the main villain gets turned into mince meat for cat food.
DUDE YOU JUST UNLOCKED A HIDDEN MEMORY OF PAC MAN PARTY, I USED TO PLAY IT ALL THE TIME ON ME WII AS A KID!! I even remember when nobody wanted to play with me I would just plug in another controller and play 😭😭 so yes I would say it’s def worth it
I know there were already a few Twilight Princess entries but, the basement in Link's house in that game scared me alot. There were tons of hoaxes about how you could see dark Link if you stare into the mirror in the dark, so we would just sit there in the dark staring at Link in the mirror in the dark.
it’s worth adding that lizbert isn’t the only one to turn into that giant monster - her girlfriend eggabell, the one who led us through the doors before it collapsed and we got stuck in the undersnax, ends up transforming into the same thing as lizbert next to her because she refuses to leave
Also the fact that if you don't complete all the tasks for each character, said character will be overpowered by snax and die. Its even worse because they have voice lines specifically for if the grumpus next to them dies, especially since there are three canon couples that this can happen to
When I was little yo kai watch was my all-time favorite game, but one thing that always freaked me out was terror time, which would happen either late at night or in the early morning. It starts when your character stops along with the music, and then a countdown from 3 appears. Then the character called Garagros appears and will start to hunt you down, and the only way to escape terror time is to find the exit and get there before Garagros catches you. If he catches you, then you're put into a fight against him. The music during this time didn't help either. Terror time still sends chills down my spine to this day just by the sheer nature of it and how it happens.
OMG I HATED TERROR TIME. Until this day I still get freaked out by it suddenly appearing and turn down my volume everytime it happens. I know it's silly but it struck a certain fear in me as a kid
I recognized that stupid teddy bear as soon as I saw that thumbnail. That Pac-Man Party stage was decievingly wholesome, and it scared the heck out of little me when he turned evil. My sister had to help convince me that my plushie wasn't going to try to kill me.
I wanted to forget about Dog's Life, but I guess I asked too much. My scary thing in non-horror game would be from the obscure 3D platformer Hugo and the Evil Mirror. The game's mirror levels have a very uneasy feel as they take place in a black void full of ghosts, living knights and flying books. Each mirror level ends with a boss fight against a creepy head of the main villain Scylla. There's even a level where her head chases you. If the boss fights against her weren't ridiculously easy it would be a lot more frightening but I remember not wanting to finish those levels because of how creepy the head was.
Thought Miyamoto finally got ya when you posted about being late. As for a suggestion, in Pokemon Omega Ruby when you fight Ghost Trainer Phoebe there is a little girl in a blink and you miss it. The camera also angles from this girl's perspective.
Maybe it didn't traumatize me or have my heart pounding during it, but the Infinite Tunnel and Hazy Lane minigames (well they aren't really minigames exactly) from the Yokai Watch series (specifically 2 & 3) was incredibly unnerving. It's kinda like that one SCP game where you walk down an infinite flight of stairs and try not to die while it increases in difficulty. But yeah, that's really the only suggestion I can think of.
I love the charm and humor you add to these, they make them 100 times more entertaining. Also PLEASE make a video about Wario World that game sounds actually insane and I'm surprised I've never heard much about it.
Thanks! Yeah Wario World is out there, plus there's a lot more in the game worth talking about so definitely worth doing a video on at some point! Glad to see it's intrigued others lol
omg i was OBSESSED with the smash brawl story when I was younger, they never scared me but seeing those clips of it has made me realize how nostalgic it is and how much I want to go back
I used to turn off the sound in Rayman origins it was terrifying and I did not need any music to make it worse, but when I come back to that level it's probably my favorite one
Banger video as always. Also it's funny you bring up Ghost Girls in the Switch Pokemon, as in Sword/Shield there is actually a direct side quest that involves a ghost girl in the game. In the city Hammerlocke you come across a young girl who gives you an old letter, and asks you to bring it to her friend in Ballonlea to let him know she's okay. When you go deliver the letter though, you find out the friend is actually an old man, who reveals to you that the girl was actually someone he knew as a child who moved away due to an illness she suffered. To pretty much confirm what's implied, when you go back to the girl she thanks you for helping her by giving you a Reaper Cloth, an item pretty much exclusively used by the Ghost-type Duskull line. So yeah they're def still keeping up the Ghost girl appearances lol
My suggestion is the dark cloud areas from Neopets: The Darkest Faerie. A very forgotten PS2 game, that was inspired by Zelda quite a bit. For the majority of the game it is light and cheery, but when the "dark clouds" envelop an area later in the game, the bright green zones become a dark purple, all the friendly NPCs are brainwashed and walk around in a daze, telling the player to go away, there are constant sounds of demons roaring in the background and the player is always attacked by flying enemies. As a kid I could absolutely never stand playing those levels and would always hand the controller to my older sibling. Probably wasn't that bad looking back at it, but way too spooky for a young kid to play
Yes, yes, YES, thank you for mentioning this game! I loved it as a kid, and even mentioned it in a PowerPoint for a game dev class when I was in college, but I haven't been able to find a lot of people that played it, let alone remember it. I remember always having to play the game with a friend when we had sleepovers when I was young, but we only ever really made progress when it was still daylight out, because neither of us wanted to traverse Neopia once it started getting purple and spooky...just getting through Bogshot Swamp alone was a hassle for the two of us!
The one swamp village had me hugging my knees to my chest as I played just to keep my toes off the floor in fear of something trying to grab me from under the couch 🫣
Actually, while I was watching this, thought of something that gave me the spooks as a kid. Probably not enough for an actual spot in one of these vids, but eh. I found the keyhole exits in Super Mario World terribly frightening when I was a very small, dumb child. Like to the point I got nightmares about them. I think it really is the combination of the sudden and somewhat imposing noise and the fact they grow frickin' HUGE & THCC before they shrink and swallow Mario, followed by the level abruptly ending. Probably the only person in existence who was mentally scarred by this, but hey, might as well post it.
I saw another comment mention Yo-Kai Watch for Terror Time, which did scare me as a kid, but nowhere near what I consider to be the true scariest thing in the game: The Nocturne Hospital. During chapter 10, to advance the story, you need to investigate the abandoned hospital as a yo-kai named Draggie sensed something evil within. The place is in total ruin, implying it had been abandoned for a long time, but a mysterious doctor residing in it still insists on giving you a check-up. Eventually, he tells you to lay down on an operating table in the middle of a hallway. Once you do so, the table zooms down the hallway and into the previously locked operating room, after which the doors shut and lock behind you, separating your player character from their companion, Whisper. The doctor then takes on their true form, the boss of the chapter, Dr. Maddiman, a hulking frankenstein’s monster-like doctor that seems to be on some sort of life support, as well as having a hand wielding several scalpels like a claw. He then says he’s going to rip out the main character’s heart and immediately starts the boss fight without warning. Maddiman would return in subsequent entires of the series, and IMO he’s the best character in the whole thing, but that moment in the lead up to his bossfight, the mix of the operating room setting, the sudden nature, and the insinuation he was going to kill your character terrified me as a kid.
I remember an old Lego browser game where you played as an RC car in a dark city tailing an agent or something. In retrospect, it was basically your typical 'follow an NPC' mission, but the atmosphere of it terrified me back then. It didn't help that if you got spotted they'd run at you and you had to flee whereas most games nowadays just have them call you out and fade to black. I was legitimately too scared to play it sometimes!
When I was younger, my father had bought me a Wii Disney Princess game. Now most people would think that “oh a Wii Disney princess game!! must have been cute!” Sure some of it was, but the enemies in the game freaked me out, they made weird noises and they just looked creepy in general. Definitely something that shouldn’t belong in a Disney princess game.
are you able to remember it's name? he surely can't include your entry if he doesn't have a name. it sounds like an interesting one, and I'd love to see him cover it!
The scene in Pokemon with the ghost girl made me nearly shat myself. Not because it was creepy, but because I couldn't move and thought the game soft locked (I didn't save for a longer time). So, when the ghost girl appeared, I sighed in relief.
Softlocks are definitely scarier than anything the game throws at you! I remember I lost an Eevee I caught to a softlock and I never found my baby again 😭
Thanks for putting my topic in! For the next one, i was going say maybe the Rampant Ruins from skylanders swap force. I think there was a thing where the arkeyans in the decoration would talk. Idk though, either that or Crazy daves scream in both the pvz 1 and 2. At least i know that scared me
i listen to Gambado videos while cleaning my place or doing self care stuff, so i usually “save” any new uploads for days when i’m doing that. seeing a new upload in my notifs and not immediately clicking it makes me genuinely sad, but it’s a good self-control exercise
Hell yeah Im all for a Warioworld video. I never played it or knew much about it, but giant blue head man really makes me wanna see the rest of the enemies lmao. Great stuff as usual Gambado
Thank you Gambado Gaming. I think some of the levels from the Crash Bandicoot beta builds are creepy. They're all without music, and they all have an unfinished and empty feel to them, naturally. It gives the feeling of looking into something no one will ever see again...
Speaking of creepy Crash Bandicoot stuff, you should have seen the beta warp room for Wrath of Cortex. It is basically giant Elemental Masks laughing at Crash while they follow him as he walks down the room to pick a level.
@@EngineerMonkeyBTD6Here is footage for one of the beta builds with the WarpRoom design I mentioned. th-cam.com/video/vkHFG4bRAQ4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pHVNJmAojUOLLw4k
I have two obscure suggestions: _top banana for amiga (the whole game is unnerving) _forestia (the fire mountain level and revoltozoo game over screen)
The Endless Forest is a real niche pick, being an interactive screensaver/social MMO art piece originally made in collaboration with a museum to highlight some obscure European ruins, but its peak friendly/passive gaming, with only nonberbal, positive social interaction in the most serene forest that the 2000s internet can bring. But there have been multiple instances where loud, disruptive sounds, described like booms or gunshots, have sounded from the game. Pretty unsettling for something with whimsical Princess Mononoke-esque deer avatars. Kinda fun to me as its one of the few instances I can recall that's still largely down to rumors, the word of multiple users and the likes. But it was supposedly just some testing of the Abiogenesis system, (the holiday event system where the GMs make a gunch of effects go off in real time) and some people probably had their sounds too loud. I miss good ol game rumors...
I don't think I've ever heard someone bring up pac-man party in this type of video before. I used to play that game all the time as a kid, and bearserk was always rather unsettling to me, especially when I first played it. It was my favourite boss for that exact reason though haha. And btw I'd totally recommend the game to you! It does a lot of cool things with the genre, such as the bosses interacting with boards quite a bit + an overarching story throughout the game. It does a good job at blending story and party games in that way. By the way, I just found this series and I've been enjoying your videos so far! Keep up the good work my guy! I'll be sure to throw an entry suggestion your way if I think of one :D
Two personal recommendations of mine come from two obscure games that launched on Dreamcast and got ported to PS2. First up is Ecco Defender of the Future, which 75% of the game is unsettling but nothing hits as hard as the level Shrine of Controversey, which is one of the most depressing levels I've experienced in a game. The second is Fur Fighters, a game that employs cutesy Loony Tunes fun for almost the entire game except for one level: The Bad Place, which is an extreme shift in tone from the rest of the game. I recommend watching playthroughs of both levels before making videos talking about them, but yeah both are a real experience.
I can see Fur Fighters getting in, but Ecco was always creepy, I don't think that game was ever designed as a cute platform hiding horror but just straight up a horror game starring a dolphin. That would be like asking him to talk about horror stuff in a Resident Evil game kinda redundant when the whole point of the game IS to be spooky.
I used to play this PC game meant for kids, like talking 5-9 year Olds. Its a learning game about math problems... Talking like 4 + 8 = stuff. It's called Quantum Castle. You play as a troll and you go into this haunted mediaeval castle, there is people? (I think or some humanoid guys) chained up to a wall about to be executed if you get it wrong. Everytime you get an answer wrong a voice says "No no no no" very low pitch with distorted audio clips playing. The whole tower is filled with stuff like this, very weird. The game isn't featured anywhere and can't download online only found on eBay or resellers as it's for the older PC like 90s CD.There is a couple on TH-cam but all in a different language, I have the game copy myself but can't code it from windows 95/98/2000/xp CD to modern. But the game is very eerie in english
On the dog life i for some reason imagine her body just organs and blood everywhere inside of the can and she’s screaming in pain inside of there until she dies not because of the machine, but due to both suffocation, blood loss, and the fact that all of her bodily functions are gruesomely ripped out and scattered everywhere on the inside of the can.
In addition to the Subspace Emissary entry, that Porky Statue always scared the ever loving crap of me as a kid. That level where you had to run away from it as Lucas was always my least favorite because of how much it terrified me.
That teddy bear in pacman party freak me the fuck out I had one nightmare of him the night were i saw it in the game and it took me a while after i could again see that thing
I remember in my favorite game ever Max Payne 2. When playing the level "Million Dollar Question" the one in the sky scraper. At one point just before you fight Kaufman, you must exit a window, use a window cleaner lift, and walk a ledge to another window, where scaffolding blocks the way. However if you go past the window, you can actually jump around the scaffolding, and continue on the ledge, around the corner is another window with a closed room, with a book on a pedestal, some curtains, and nothing more. The book had an image of someone, saying RIP, and a year. It's not exactly scary, but I've always found this unsettling, especially since I've never found any other Easter eggs in that game. I did have a theory when I was younger. Just before using the window lift, there are 2 enemies talking. They mention a friend who died while doing a sport like skiing, or Bungie jumping something like that. So I kinda wondered if that man in the book, may have died in that way? I don't hear this Easter egg mentioned very often, if at all.
God, I remember owning Pac-Man Party and I'd always skip the Bearserk cutscene everytime the boss event starts. Glad to see I wasn't the only one who remembers that game.
Gotta love how a boss in a Wario game is just a floating bloated hypothermic corpse. Perfect for the kids I honestly love when games just get crazy with design like that though
You want another game with some creepy bosses? I recommend Gex, Enter the Gecko. The main bad guy not only looks jarringly out-of-place and creepy, but his evil plan is to kidnap people and force them to be mascots on his crappy TV shows.
Rez! Such a goofy villain, yet his design freaked me out as a kid. Also, those little doll guys in the horror movie themed world who would come out of the dark swinging a knife at you.
not super related to the video topic, but i feel like the different interstitials you have between entries in each video dont get talked about enough. theyre a small touch but one that i think adds a lot to these iceberg vids and makes them feel more personal, and it shows how much care you put into these :)
For April Fools 2024, Pokemon Masters did a scary event, and the Hex Maniac girl reappears! She says "No, you are not the one" and disappears. Did in fact spook me a bit before I got excited seeing her again lol
The Mean Emcee boss in Wario World used to absolutely terrify me as a kid. His creepy face, the way he moves, and that his voice sounded like one of those crappy McDonalds intercoms. Pure nightmare fuel.
That Skyward Sword one really reminded me of the Temple of the Ocean King from TLoZ Phantom Hourglass. The temple itself is already unnerving knowing you're on a time limit (at first it drains your life, then after you get the hourglass it takes time off from that, then drains your life), and also knowing the tense temple music the game has. And of course it's filled to the brim with Phantoms, enemies which, pretty much exactly like those enemies from SS, all chase after Link upon spotting him (with the music also changing to this hurried chase music, and the fog/smoke effect in the screen turning red), until you get to a safe zone or they lose you - if they catch you, you die if you have no hourglass time or start over from the last checkpoint/the start of the room (I don't remember which) with time taken away. Worst of all you have to repeat the dungeon many times throughout the game and the areas get tougher and tougher, first introducing faster Phantoms, then "Phantom Eyes" which alert all Phantoms of your position, then Phantoms that will teleport directly to you, and then Wizzrobes that stalk up to you in some later floors. Not to mention how much moving around the puzzles require to complete. When I was young I was scared shitless of them lmao, so much I had to get my brother to clear the sections that had them sometimes lol. (P.S. I also just got reminded of the Flooders from Splatoon, pretty much kind of the same thing, just probably not as creepy since they only appear in some levels for limited areas and if one spots you the others won't be notified. Also the atmosphere is not as tense)
I appreciate the respect you show for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, because R&C is my favorite game series (also I highly recommend playing some of the PS3 games, they're great)
Something that always unnerved me in a videogame was the Zahhab Region Depths in Endless Ocean 2. Deep sea diving was always something that put me on edge, but add on the fact that you can be attacked by a shark in near pitch black darkness, but also the giant squid being a roadblock that the character won’t even get near just gives me the creeps
This guy has the best channel. Covers stuff I already seen and sometimes new stuff. He's funny and easy to listen to. I sleep to him. Oh... My 24 hour ban up for smack talk.
I was absolutely obsessed with A Dog’s Life when I was a kid and I was always disappointed that no one I knew had heard about it or played it. It always seemed like such a crazy diversion from your average PS2 game back then and it just felt so unique. Definitely not a 10/10 game, but very interesting and one of a kind.
Something I've seen a bit creepy in a relatively modern game is from the game called "Dwarrows". The whole game is very friendly looking and sunny, until you reach "Virgil Pines". Upon entering that place, a fog starts coming out of nowhere and the sun is completely blocked. The trials in there are haunted (one of them have the ghosts of children manipulating the building while playfully laughing). But what really got me was the giant's skeleton lying in a whole area, surrounded by its ancient weapons. You can walk on it's ribs and spine, and the weapons are platforms that allow you to reach new areas, but the game never mentions anything about that giant, and you don't encounter a creature as big as that skeleton. That, and the lost family. That one was also very haunting, they kept repeating the last words they said in life and can't move on until you help them.
I’m not sure if this counts as super scary, but I always remember the fear of entering the Safir Cave area on Wii Fishing Resort. You could see giant Oarfish swimming around, and finally pulling one, or even a Goblin Shark, out of the water was terrifying as a kid
The pac-man party one was one I immediately recognized because I played it as a kid. Bearzerk terrified me as a kid, only because I was traumatized by FNAF in second grade and was yet to overcome that fear. The game's also pretty good! I'd definitely want to see you guys try out Pac-Man Party.
Several points in Vexx: 1: The Below, specifically at night, what's worse than underwater levels, them at night. 2: Tempest Peak Manor, The fact that it's like Gruntilda's Graveyard House area, and there's a weird ass dog patrolling the area... Much larger than you.... Yeah... 3: The sundial portals.... The fact they can only be accessed at certain times of the day, plus the fact that the music makes you feel like you shouldn't be there... And the sheer emptiness of it... Just grey clouds and platforms...
Something that scared me as a kid was the flash game Cave Chaos 2. Most of the game is harmless (if a little unsettling), but levels 10 and 12 go straight into body horror territory, as the enemies are parasitic worms that mutate the cute protagonist into a monstrous creature. It took me months to actually play level 10 thanks to that. No other game from the company made me feel that way.
The Wind Waker Big Octos TERRIFIED me as a wee lad, I legit would stop playing when you beat all the dungeons and have to sail and fish up the triforce pieces, I didn't know they had specific islands they would spawn in and thought they were random, I would go sailing just HOPING I wouldn't encounter one. And if I did encounter a Big Octo, I would pause and go ask my dad to kill them
Back with another suggestion for you! I didnt watch the whole video yet, but I feel like the tarr from slime rancher belong in the next installment. Even though i started playing it recently, The tarr are such a anxiety inducing mechanic. If a largo slime eats a plort that isnt theirs, they become a tarr, which is basically a monster that you can only kill with water, and it will kill and turn any slime it comes in contact with. This happens often in areas with a diverse slime population, and whenever it happens you’ll know because of the music. Every play through i find myself nervously listening to the music to make sure i didnt hear the tar theme. Overall the game is genuinely one of the most unique and fun indie games ive ever played but like, the tarrs are the worst. They basically completely flip the games atmosphere on its head, since it’s usually relaxing and cute. Even the slimes get scared!
Oh my gosh… BEARSERK. That just gave me a rush of nostalgia. I remember playing Pac-Man Party a decent amount as a kid and those bosses were something else. That bear and squid boss were so cool, I might have to revisit the game some day.
i remember when i was younger, there was a level to get a dark or ghost type Z crystal, and to get it you had to follow a mimikyu, it was really scary because it was in an abandoned supermarket and you had to use that pokefinder feature which made it feel like a jumpscare
i dont know if you covered it already or not but the forest temple in ocarina of time always creeped me out with the music ghosts and how the temple feels so familiar in different rooms
A game that would be be great to cover would be the Monster House game for Ps2. It was one of my favourites movies, but the game was actually scary as a kid. Inanimate objects coming to life like chairs, pipes and floorboards. The music and sound effects were unsettling. I remember the levels feeling really ominous as it felt like you were constantly being watched. This is also just a heavily underrated game which a lot of people didn't play.
In the 2003 game "The Haunted Mansion" on the PlayStation 2, there's a really unnerving spot. Granted it's a Disney -horror- game, but this spot is different from the rest of the game. In the maid's room, you have to find your way through a maze of moving walls basically. If you take a certain turn, you'll come across a little shrine thing in the floor. It's five candles in a circle with a Teddy bear in the center. No explanation, and the Teddy's gaze follows you. I'm pretty sure the Teddy is also in the children's room (where you first encounter the Reaper) - honestly the emptiness of this room is it's own thing all by itself. It might also have been in the toy room, but I'm not sure on that one. Regardless, the maid's room is the only one set up as a pentagram shrine, and there's never another mention of it in the entire game. You can't interact with it, it's just there. Creepy.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the track that plays in the silent realms when the guardians chase you, it is super intense and is mostly comprised of metallic clashing sounds which just amplified the intensity of the escape from these towering monsters that you just awoke.
Cool videos! I wanted to add some stuff from personal experience: 1) Original Crash Bandicoot trilogy is quite uncanny in my opinion, a lot of places are murky, also Uka Uka and Dr Cortex just feel threatening (facial expressions and voice acting, in cutscenes and game overs). The peak of horror for me was the level from the first game, Generator Room. It's so dark, music is eldritch, and you are being watched by Cortex from multiple screens? Yeah, that's when my first playthrough had ended 2) I don't see many people talk about this PSX title, but Heart of Darkness is a cool yet a very anxious one. I always felt like it should be rated T, not E, since it's surprisingly ominous and graphic? The game is filled with combat against dark monsters, that not only look scary, but also kill the main character in very disturbing ways. And when you are not fighting for your life, you are left exploring the desolate areas with unsettling ambience sounds. Yeah, as a kid I just couldn't bring myself beating the first locarions, and this game actually fed into my fear of the darkness, just like Crash lol
Growing up one of my family’s favorite games to play was Pac-Man party, it was only last year I found out that literally nobody knows about it and that it only sold 600k copies
I think the Subspace Emissary from Smash entry was meant to be for Mizzo also, an unused enemy that is seen in-game at the near end of Meta Knight's Halberd level. With a Trophy included of what it is. It's actually kind of creepy to look at also
Brawl was my first ever smash game my mum brought it randomly because she saw sonic on the cover and I have to say it got me hooked on the smash franchise i understand looking back brawl isn’t the best but god I have such a soft spot for it! I have melee now but idk if it’s because I’m too young to have any kind of nostalgia for the game cube era but I just can’t agree with the whole sentiment it’s the best in the series, final smashes are cool as hell! I love the unique animations that play out and it feels awesome to get that chance to use it
The game over of Plants Vs. Zombies freaked me out when I was young. You just helplessly watch as the zombie enters your home, only for your character to scream as the zombie eats his brains.
In that genre of game lingering too long would summon a character like a grim reaper.
I remember seeing that as a kid and thinking some kind of monster would appear and attack my team if I didn't escape from the dungeon
Same. It was a very eerie game mechanic.
The ghost ship in The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass always scared me playing through it as a child, especially the sisters and their screams
I remember my first time playing Phantom Hourglass and was spooked as hell when the sisters revealed their true form.
I can't believe the game about shitting and taking deuces on people as a dog ends with trying to save your girlfriend from literally fucking dying and then witnessing a woman's last desperate cries as she is mutilated by machinery
Just an average day in an industrial city
It took such a dark turn. Dogs turning gets turned into meat for cat food is already dark, than the main villain gets turned into mince meat for cat food.
Aside that I'm also wondering what's with tanks labelled with "Radioactive" doing in a supposed pet food factory?
I don't think the Bearserk boss ever scared me as a kid, rather it was the mini game where you inflate the dig dug enemy to the point of popping
oh that one.
Yeah I wasn't scared of Bearserk as a kid either

If he catches you, then you're put into a fight against him. The music during this time didn't help either. Terror time still sends chills down my spine to this day just by the sheer nature of it and how it happens.
Honestly, I find it more annoying than creepy
OMG I HATED TERROR TIME. Until this day I still get freaked out by it suddenly appearing and turn down my volume everytime it happens. I know it's silly but it struck a certain fear in me as a kid
I was exactly the same. Post game I never went outside at night lol. Unfortunately it could still happen in the day :(
I recognized that stupid teddy bear as soon as I saw that thumbnail.
What always spooked me was being alone on Minecraft, the cave and cave sounds
Thought Miyamoto finally got ya when you posted about being late. As for a suggestion, in Pokemon Omega Ruby when you fight Ghost Trainer Phoebe there is a little girl in a blink and you miss it. The camera also angles from this girl's perspective.
When I was a kid and I was playing kirbys return to dreamland, magalors scream when you defeat him freaked me out, and the music for the dark areas
I was so terrified of the bear boss cutscene in pacman party as a kid that I stopped playing the game for about a month or two
OMG, I think I was the only one playing pacman party.. that bear terrified me when i was little 😭
Maybe it didn't traumatize me or have my heart pounding during it, but the Infinite Tunnel and Hazy Lane minigames (well they aren't really minigames exactly) from the Yokai Watch series (specifically 2 & 3) was incredibly unnerving. It's kinda like that one SCP game where you walk down an infinite flight of stairs and try not to die while it increases in difficulty. But yeah, that's really the only suggestion I can think of.
Pac-Man Party is unironically just as good if not better than most Mario Party games.
Honestly, I have to agree. Especially if we’re talking it compared the two lackluster Wii entries for Mario Party.
YESSSS I bought it 2 years ago for nostalgia and its so fun
Its actually surprisingly underrated
I mean, Pac-Man party is a great game, but I gotta go with Mario party 2
That's not really saying much, Mario party games have always been incredibly lackluster and uninnovative
Listening to new Gambado at 6 in the morning provides such a unique atmosphere.
HUGE & THICC you say?
@@БогданКрименюк very
hey! where about his new comments godzilla red nes?
They desire that feeling
The doll enemies from Scooby doo first frights terrified me as a kid. you should put those in a video if you havent already
I love it when there’s scary music in the background of these kinds of videos. It adds so much to the vibe
32:50 The developer's barely-disguised fetish
Holy shit, fat fetish artist are everywhere
yep.
There was a yeti thing in star wars shadow of the empire for the n64 that still keeps me up at night 😂
Hell yeah Im all for a Warioworld video. I never played it or knew much about it, but giant blue head man really makes me wanna see the rest of the enemies lmao. Great stuff as usual Gambado
Thanks, the rest of the game is wild so it's a gem for a video I think, glad to see there's interest! Thanks for the support as always!
@@SammEater You have a link? I'll have to check that out!
@@EngineerMonkeyBTD6Here is footage for one of the beta builds with the WarpRoom design I mentioned. th-cam.com/video/vkHFG4bRAQ4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=pHVNJmAojUOLLw4k
I have two obscure suggestions:
_top banana for amiga (the whole game is unnerving)
_forestia (the fire mountain level and revoltozoo game over screen)
5:00 Can we also talk about the blood that’s seen on the saws and machines? Creepy for a rated E game.
33:35 Oh look, it's the Teddy Bear that scared the shit out of me as a kid
I have a story of when I was younger I played Minecraft on Xbox 360, and when I went to the end to fight the ender dragon it scarred me for life.
I miss good ol game rumors...
thanks for including my entry 😊
My man got the epitome pronunciation down.
Also hell yeah for highlighting my suggestion! Thanks!
Ecco the dolphin, right? Cant remember whatever sub-wgatevers are in the title. But weird, dark, and strange shit.
Loved it.
Too hard though
Another banger! And you used mine! Right on!
Wow it's jj lol
27:55 the way he says "He's F-ing smokin'!" Is too perfect!
Honestly legitimately recommend pac man party , it genuinely fun and has decent motion control based minigames
God, I remember owning Pac-Man Party and I'd always skip the Bearserk cutscene everytime the boss event starts. Glad to see I wasn't the only one who remembers that game.
PacMan Party is SO worth it.
5:16 genuinely one of the funniest villain deaths ever, it reminds me of the Scooby Doo 2 movie when the Niner 49 came in that little shack
20:57 HOLY SHIT I GOT MAJOR PTSD remembering the carnage doc oct on spider-Man, 64 😢
Gotta love how a boss in a Wario game is just a floating bloated hypothermic corpse. Perfect for the kids
I honestly love when games just get crazy with design like that though
You want another game with some creepy bosses? I recommend Gex, Enter the Gecko. The main bad guy not only looks jarringly out-of-place and creepy, but his evil plan is to kidnap people and force them to be mascots on his crappy TV shows.
Rez! Such a goofy villain, yet his design freaked me out as a kid. Also, those little doll guys in the horror movie themed world who would come out of the dark swinging a knife at you.
not super related to the video topic, but i feel like the different interstitials you have between entries in each video dont get talked about enough. theyre a small touch but one that i think adds a lot to these iceberg vids and makes them feel more personal, and it shows how much care you put into these :)
bro i still play pacman party and even 10 years later i am still terrified of bearzerk but overall the game is worth it
For April Fools 2024, Pokemon Masters did a scary event, and the Hex Maniac girl reappears! She says "No, you are not the one" and disappears. Did in fact spook me a bit before I got excited seeing her again lol
I wonder if Shy Guys is where they got the idea for Ghostface from the _Scream_ films.😺👻
love the nonchalant comedy, definitely scratches an itch I never knew I had
The Mean Emcee boss in Wario World used to absolutely terrify me as a kid. His creepy face, the way he moves, and that his voice sounded like one of those crappy McDonalds intercoms. Pure nightmare fuel.
i played pac man party so muh as a kid, i actually felt bad for the teddy bear. pac man party is crazy good
To answer your question abt Pac-man Party, the answer is yes! It's worth it. I remember spending a lot of time playing with my older brother.
I appreciate the respect you show for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, because R&C is my favorite game series (also I highly recommend playing some of the PS3 games, they're great)
A certified hood classic
Hell ya great video brother 😎👍🏼 love the editing and sounds
Dog's Life really went "Then she died horribly. Haha just kidding! No but for real she's dead now."
I honestly would LOVE to tell us the atmosphere of Wario World! Such a niche yet intriguing idea!
I'm one of the few people that was never scared of Bearserk playing Pac-Man Party as a kid
I’m so happy this is a safe space for subspace emissary in brawl thank you
Several points in Vexx:
1: The Below, specifically at night, what's worse than underwater levels, them at night.
And if I did encounter a Big Octo, I would pause and go ask my dad to kill them
I was the opposite lol, I always thought as a kid that bearserker was the coolest shit ever.
The reason Wario World's bosses and enemies are just downright nightmare fuel is cause of all the devs Nintendo decided to choose it was Treasure
i dont know if you covered it already or not but the forest temple in ocarina of time always creeped me out with the music ghosts and how the temple feels so familiar in different rooms
Brawl is so underrated. Subspace Emissary went insanely hard. Ultimate’s spirit whatever can’t even hold a candle to it.
I wanted to add some stuff from personal experience:
1) Original Crash Bandicoot trilogy is quite uncanny in my opinion, a lot of places are murky, also Uka Uka and Dr Cortex just feel threatening (facial expressions and voice acting, in cutscenes and game overs). The peak of horror for me was the level from the first game, Generator Room. It's so dark, music is eldritch, and you are being watched by Cortex from multiple screens? Yeah, that's when my first playthrough had ended
2) I don't see many people talk about this PSX title, but Heart of Darkness is a cool yet a very anxious one.
I DIDN'T KNOW YOU'D MENTION VIVA PIÑATA! I loved that game to bits! I used to just sit and watch Dastardos bust em up honestly.
