I just want to note, to tone down Oceiros's initial creepyness, FromSoft decided to remove the baby, but kept the initial animations anyways. So, the fight was made creepier by implying Oceiros may be going mad and is caring for an imaginary child, (or, potentially, a real but invisible child) simply because someone was too lazy to make new animations.
as a longtime danganronpa fan I’m 99% sure that early version of monokuma comes from when the game was still meant to be a more grisly serious murder mystery and not as ridiculous. I think it was called “distrust” at the time? you should definitely check out the distrust designs of the other characters as well. most of them are super badass

There is also another bully theory that Gary was meant to die at the end of bully based on a few things like apparently some code left for a scene that would have spawned jimmy at the graveyard and music that was labeled or sounded Melancholy on top of the fact people find it hard to believe he would survived a fall through the window after the fight and jimmy survived because he used his body as a shield. Also maybe you should look into the cut dark urge ending from baldur’s gate 3. Let’s just say it makes the bear romance scene look tame.
one of the lead designers sons drew it up after being asked to design some enemies by (i think) gabe newell. The kid came up with mr friendly and expicitly said he was gonna hump you to death. Now this part could be me misremembering, or mulching two memories together, but i think he also said he got the idea by watching his un-neutered dog hump things throghout the house and i can get it, being a kid and not really understanding what da dog doin, but somehow knowing he shouldnt be watching it might give you fucked up ideas like that.
The Silent Hill enemies being part of an abandoned zoo would have been so fucking cool, especially that ostrich. The snake model actually reminds me of a rat-tailed maggot which adds to the GROSS factor for sure!
I weirdly like the ELH ghost, and seeing it be used in Bogmire's arena, it actually looks like it fits fairly well. I also remembered it only had sidestepping animations for it's movement, which seeing how it moves in the arena while Luigi's running around looks like it'd make sense actually.
That whole “baby squishing” audio horrified me, but also made me laugh out loud because the squish sounded like somebody doing the noise with their mouth and idk it just made me wanna laugh. Never thought a piece of audio could both disturb me and make me snort at the same time.
That ELH from Luigi's Mansion looks like an untextured Tank Flood form from Halo, which is a really massive departure from the general Luigi's Mansion aesthetic...
This would make it fit in so well with Silent Hill's monsters, too! They're representations of Alessa's fears (mostly) like the dog, as well as things she liked (the stupid flying whatever they're called pterodactyl things, she had a book about dinosaurs). Her having a traumatizing memory of dissecting a frog at around 7 years old would definitely cause a monster like this to exist!
A lot of the really messed up Epic Mickey concept art was them pushing to find the line (and kind of the technique of presenting something quite extreme and then presenting something less extreme to make the latter seem more reasonable and be more likely to be accepted). Also just a great excuse to experiment with these concepts.

When I was first playing Epic Mickey and realized after the first boss fight that "Oh, wait, I don't HAVE to use thinner. On the bosses or on anything. I can use paint to solve 99% of the problems. I don't want to hurt these characters! Let me go back and use paint!" I immediately reset my file after the first boss and did the whole game with only paint. Shadow the Hedgehog has a sort of moral system, though it's mostly reduced to a per-level basis and mostly only controlled by which enemies you beat up. But Shadow the Hedgehog made it fun to be evil and you could redo the story over and over and you only got the true ending by completing all the other "endings." so you HAD to be evil to get the ending where Shadow is ultimately good, or at least chooses to define himself by his own standards rather than doing everything that everyone else tells him to. But watching the first boss just crumble in Epic Mickey was the first time I actually felt really bad for "being evil." My ass is a Stardew Valley/Animal Crossing/cozy game player at heart. I love a good bust-em-up, and I enjoy shooters, adventure games, and all the goopy gore, even if I'm still a little bitch when it comes to horror. But at my core I just want to make friends with everybody. I will spend an extraordinary amount of time befriending things in games. Nothing has ever quite hit me like that first boss in Epic Mickey and realizing "I could have just made friends with it instead?! WHY DIDN'T THEY MAKE THAT CLEARER!? I FEEL SO BAD NOW!" I think only 2 other games made me feel that way. Undertale and OFF. A game where you can choose to save everyone and a game where the only way to save everyone is to simply not play. OFF does it especially well, I think. (SPOILERS) but the game basically shows you incredible stats for this child character who's basically your penultimate boss. They are a "threat." But during the entire fight, their icon is just this scared little kid. And they don't do any damage. So your only choice is to beat up (and likely destroy) this defenseless little boy who can't harm you, or just stop playing. And if you've never played a game like this before, it might take you until a second playthrough to realize "wait. They can't hurt me at all. They're just wasting turns. I'm literally attacking a defenseless kid. They aren't some cruel joke where innocence masks an incredible power and they're just biding time to do some OHKO on me. This is literally, textually, a scared little kid. And I am not allowed to do anything other than hurt them or stop playing." Heck, a lot of people may not even realize that refusing to play is even part of the choice. The first time I played, I certainly didn't. I had to figure out the hard way that, other than within his own worldview, the Batter is not the good guy. Other games where you play the bad guy usually offer a route or are specifically about redeeming past villainous actions. But Undertale's No Mercy route where Toby explicitly hits you with Undyne, the hero of the Monsters, ramping up her difficulty to insane degrees, and then later hitting you with Sans, whose ultimate plan to stop you is to just stop you from playing the game because he knows his 1HP ass isn't a match for you otherwise is the gameplay being very explicit about you, the player, being the bad guy by choosing to continue fighting, and the fact that the game is designed to remember that choice and lock you out of the good ending even if you restart is very explicitly about how the player deciding that their own need for challenge and excitement is more valuable than the "lives" of the monsters who, on many occasions, are just defending themselves. You destroyed people who could have been spared for the fun of it. You can never undo that. (I think taking a leaf out of OFF's book could have made it even more effective. If some monsters could only ACT for example and literally couldn't do damage, or missed attacks on purpose, or whose fighting style was more like Sans where they dodge instead of attacking. Not necessary for an already great game but it could have made the message more effective.) I dunno. Like I said I don't mind beat-em-up style games. I will go ham on some monsters in Zelda BotW and TotK even if you can make them "tame" by wearing masks because, ultimately, they attack you first, they do not stop attacking just because you run, and ultimately the game is more fun if you just indiscriminately flatten whole hoards of enemies. But the fact that you can even make them tame at all and the fact that Twilight Princess implies with the Bublins that the monsters have some choice in deciding whether to serve Ganon's evil or not could have some exciting implications for future Zelda games. Ultimately, enemies are pixels on the screen. 99% of the time the enemies are programmed to attack without provocation until you, the player character, are defeated. In the broader scope of games, there's nothing inherently immoral about trashing hostiles by the thousands. But I do just find it incredibly fun and interesting when a game offers you a choice or even incentivizes counter-instinctual behavior. Tame your foes, make friends, choose peace, refuse to fight, maybe even refuse to play the game at all. I understand why every game can't be OFF. People that make games want to make money. And if you're a Triple A studio, it goes against your bottom line for the main message of the game to be "the only true victory is refusing to play. Please feel bad about all the mooks we made you kill to get to the credits." But I do love that more games are experimenting with combat styles or lack thereof that ask you to consider if destroying enemies in a game is necessarily the root of fun, or if you can make and have enjoyable gaming experiences that are about making friends and overcoming challenges without violence. Definitely not saying violence in video games is bad. I like spanking Lynels in TotK for fun as much as anyone does, even though Lynels are one of the few enemies that don't attack unless you show yourself to be hostile first. I'm just saying that we have a plethora of games where thoughtlessly wrecking things is the norm and I would love to see more of the niche genre of games where making friends and choosing peace is actually the more fun way to play. All this to say that Epic Mickey was the first sort of game to make me feel this way and it would be very interesting if future games explored a more monstrous side of Mickey. He was a real jerk in the early cartoons, after all. Not to mention how people currently feel about Disney's stranglehold on the major motion pictures market. Just saying...
I feel like Disney wouldn't allow a darker take on Epic Mickey, much less an epic mickey sequel at all. Even further they definitley wouldn't allow a game that slightly referenced in a negative light disney's growing monopoly on the film industry.
@boxylemons7961 Almost certainly not. I know. But imagine the juicy potential. At least their stranglehold on copyright is slipping. Maybe 1000 years in the future someone will do something cool with the idea. I think the random pursuing monster genre of horror where Steamboat Willie's Mickey is the monster is all well and good. Funny idea, stick it to the man, all that. But people could go so much further. IDK, the problem (or perk if you're Disney, I guess) is that by the time copyright expires or eases on enough stuff to actually use Mickey in any effective way in a very infringing, scathing political commentary or satire, the relevant gripes of today might not be as relevant. But one can hope. I just want the love/hate relationship I have with Disney to bear some fruit, you know? Scratch that itch. Gave me and many a childhood full of entertainment only to become more cartoonishly evil than their fairytale villains in some ways. I'm sure there's relevant media using the premise itself, but I think it would much more effective to leverage the versions of Mickey sliding into the public domain to make the point sharper, you know? But having Disney get bullied into greenlighting a project like that would be so funny. Mostly because it's impossible. But the inherent comedy of it. Imagine.
Have you, by chance.. heard of Gravity Rush? It’s a really interesting game that I think you would like based on the games you said you played!❤ i have to warn you though that the game can be kind of pushy and slow at the beginning but that’s common for games! So if you do see this and decide to play it, just be aware of the beginning moments😅😊
As an aussie i gotta say, You gotta forgive the stingrays my guy.. (not mad) it really was a freak accident, though. Hit irwin in the heart, the worst place. Stingrays are very calm creatures, usually. They’re like the ravioli of the sea..
Originally, Danganronpa was called "Distrust." and concept art can be traced back as far as 2007. basically the same game as far as we know, we dont have munch info sadly since its been lost in translation or Spike Chunsoft hasnt revealed anything. the first execution in the game even stayed the same with the same character. the story and characters changed alot however.
Man, if epic Mickey would be darker than it was, it would have been so much different, and definitely would make people think about which path they should take. Also Tbh I thought I was subscribed as I watched a bunch of your videos, but apparently, I wasn’t. Sorry about that, but amazing video as usual!!
I love ELH, he's always terrified me. Deeply unnerving. I've grown to love him kver the years. Btw, Mr Friendly was supposed to hump you to death. Fun half-life fact. Also, I would love a whole video on cut silent hill enemies! They're cool as hell. And also disturbing "Monkey"s snout looks like that of a mandrill, btw.

man i really wish there was more of an auditory warning for the dark souls one, i knew it was going to be messed up and maybe thered be a crunch but i was not expecting it to be _that_ graphic, holy shit. like that was _detailed_. maybe thats normal for dark souls but ive never cared for that franchise so like. that was a lot i say auditory because i was too busy doing something else to look at the warning screen until after it had already played. like i can usually handle disturbing stuff just fine but i think if i knew there would be visceral squishing sounds i wouldve been like. oh wow maybe i should not listen to that actually on a funnier note though the half life one is just. so funny looking. bro looks like someone bending their back and their hole is just. looking at you. so gross LOL
13:05 Well it was a sting ray not a manta. The difference is one uses being too swole to be eaten as a defense and the other as a shank for a tail. Also what I've heard is because of an inverse of underestimating threats. He's used to dangerous creatures and respected them and knew how the treat and react to them but sting rays are more well known for being minor nuances then legitimate threats as such what usually gets got those who mess with the creatures he's usually besties with is what got him when he got too close to a creature usually seen as harmless. In other words? He became a living example of why you follow his rules and what happens when they're violated.
That's what I was thinking too. Some adults (especially in Hollywood and other similar areas) seem to attribute a lot of innocent stuff to more dark/sexual concepts. I've noticed they tend to assume everyone's mind is in the gutter, meanwhile sometimes it's just them.
@@destinyhntrI’ve heard that the kid drew it with the idea it would try to mate the player to death and that why Gabe was all “it symbolizes the intrinsic adolescent fear of adult reproduction” (idk how that theme fits into Half-Life but apparently he loved it…. seems more like Silent Hill symbolic monster kind of deal tbh) so I think he knew if that’s accurate
25:42 there actually was a third installment, "The power of Illusion", however it took the form of a 2d platformer that released for mainly portables, at least, I played it for the 3ds after buying a second hand copy at gamestop. don't know what other consoles it was on.
Mr. Gambado: Are you taking requests for spooky shit? Konami put Robbie the Rabbit from Silent Hill in Elebits and that shit scared the FUCK out of me when I was a kid
Idk if its been covered yet but Ace Combat 4 right before the final mission briefing you are greeted with a super weapon called the megalith shooting astroids above the planet causing a rain of astroids making impact around the globe killing thousands and when you're finally let into the mission briefing for the final mission and hearing the gameplan all your met with is silence and the music track named silent that only consits of low rumbles and low electronic sounds giving a huge feeling of dread and helplessness as people are dying all around. As you enter the mission your greeted with the megalith firing off missle after missle accompanied by a choir and even during the mission you are in a cloudy hellscape with metors raining down all around and the music in the final mission is desperate and sad
I'm pretty sure it's from a Metroid game, but I'm not sure which one, sadly. Edit: it was bugging me so I looked around and found it's the item room from super metroid
tbh i'm not sure how you could like bogmire over ELH, bogmire looks like a haunted condom, which just makes the entire boss fight too silly to take seriously

But I do love that more games are experimenting with combat styles or lack thereof that ask you to consider if destroying enemies in a game is necessarily the root of fun, or if you can make and have enjoyable gaming experiences that are about making friends and overcoming challenges without violence.
@@Teddybli_2309 I have not! I'll consider giving it a go. It seems interesting!
11:35 The chicken monster looks like it was from Spore.
As an aussie i gotta say,
You gotta forgive the stingrays my guy.. (not mad)
it really was a freak accident, though. Hit irwin in the heart, the worst place.
Stingrays are very calm creatures, usually. They’re like the ravioli of the sea..
Jimmy truly had a joker moment
THAT THUMBNAIL
Very true. Having Morgana be a bisected man would’ve been hard as fuck
that is NOT morgana 😭
Morgana 😭😭😭😭
Looks like Bobby Hill

I really hope we get that Mickey horror game now that he’s public domain
The Oceriros audio truly caught me off guard, despite warning I didn’t think it would be that bad
You can fill like an entire hour video of Epic Mickey and cut content/ broken promises.
Fuck that game, I still want my refund.
I love ELH, he's always terrified me. Deeply unnerving. I've grown to love him kver the years.
Btw, Mr Friendly was supposed to hump you to death. Fun half-life fact.
Also, I would love a whole video on cut silent hill enemies! They're cool as hell. And also disturbing
"Monkey"s snout looks like that of a mandrill, btw.
OG Monokuma also looks similar to Two Face from DC.
11:20 moths freak me out because when I was younger, I was playing outside in the snow and I merely glanced up at the wall of my house and saw the fucking biggest ass moth. I got so scared and ran inside. Granted I was like five.
My boyyyy. Another one. Thats what’s up. Keep it up man
lesssgooo, appreciate the support!
man i really wish there was more of an auditory warning for the dark souls one, i knew it was going to be messed up and maybe thered be a crunch but i was not expecting it to be _that_ graphic, holy shit. like that was _detailed_. maybe thats normal for dark souls but ive never cared for that franchise so like. that was a lot
i say auditory because i was too busy doing something else to look at the warning screen until after it had already played. like i can usually handle disturbing stuff just fine but i think if i knew there would be visceral squishing sounds i wouldve been like. oh wow maybe i should not listen to that actually
on a funnier note though the half life one is just. so funny looking. bro looks like someone bending their back and their hole is just. looking at you. so gross LOL
Cringe
13:05 Well it was a sting ray not a manta. The difference is one uses being too swole to be eaten as a defense and the other as a shank for a tail. Also what I've heard is because of an inverse of underestimating threats. He's used to dangerous creatures and respected them and knew how the treat and react to them but sting rays are more well known for being minor nuances then legitimate threats as such what usually gets got those who mess with the creatures he's usually besties with is what got him when he got too close to a creature usually seen as harmless. In other words? He became a living example of why you follow his rules and what happens when they're violated.
You still owe me 2 dollars pay up or oil up
Maybe HL3 is taking so long to come out because they're perfecting Mr. Friendly?
The Chicken of Silent Hill looks like that boss of Metal Slug 3...
It's funny that they were outraged about drawings drawn by a teenager, probably even he wasn't aware that it would remind adults of something else
He sees a monster, they see an eggplant
I hope they don't see my fish that I drew as a kid, because they would be outraged by their shape
From what I read the kid was aware lol
I think the redditors username is supposed to be Midir Isn't Hard, referring to another boss in the game known as Midir.
good looking out, I knew I butchered that lol
I love your editing and intros good content dawg
Thanks!
I find the idea of the making concept art of epic Mickey being extremely disturbing, just so that they could be told to tone it down really funny
Next video should be wholesome Easter eggs in creepy video games
For DS3 o thought he HAD the baby in hand was the cut content and seeing it literally get murked
You'll be at 100k by the end of this year. Really great video, good memeage, interesting topic, weird shit man!
Gambado almost got Mothman'd
25:42
there actually was a third installment, "The power of Illusion", however it took the form of a 2d platformer that released for mainly portables, at least, I played it for the 3ds after buying a second hand copy at gamestop. don't know what other consoles it was on.
Gosh I love bully so mysterious
I dunno that baby scream is way too well timed
I do think that elh was supposed to chase Luigi around the mansion, and you could stunt it if it uses an elemental attack.
babe wake up gambado dropped a new video
it's-a-me, third degree burn mario!
Hearing a baby getting smashed only ruins my day if I don't have any in the fridge.
someone has to make one of those comments
smashed
8:07
Wait a minute….is that Gape Newell from the Silvermania video? Lmao
16:15 Did you notice what that person was making with the clay when you used that clip?
There's actually a model of Ocelot's mangled body that is untextured in the final game. He isn't dead, either.
Mr. Gambado: Are you taking requests for spooky shit? Konami put Robbie the Rabbit from Silent Hill in Elebits and that shit scared the FUCK out of me when I was a kid
Please, remember METROID IS NOT A FAMILY FRIENDLY GAME.
Thinner Mickey removes the ink from Mickey showing the drawing under it
Can you please do a Mario party 2 iceberg
1:22
yea the overheat mechanic would’ve been so fucking annoying i’m glad its gone
Ahh, today’s going to be a good day
Hey everyone, what's the name of the song on the intro?
The snake looks more like a tsukinoko to me.
WHY ARE ALL THE EPIC MICKEY CONCEPTS SO FUCKING AWESOME?! I NEED THIS GAME!!!!!
Your gonna have a heart attack when you find out about Mothra
What is the music used in between transitions? It sounds so familiar for example; 1:00
I'm pretty sure it's from a Metroid game, but I'm not sure which one, sadly.
Edit: it was bugging me so I looked around and found it's the item room from super metroid
@@yomatasaki THANK YOU SO MUCH 🙏
tbh i'm not sure how you could like bogmire over ELH, bogmire looks like a haunted condom, which just makes the entire boss fight too silly to take seriously
Personally I think the snake is kinda cute, but das just me.
Ayo that that Play-Doh background clip looking kinda sus
10:30 is LITERALLY A MOTH im so mad fym butterfly.. thats a moth ...
Bit late, but as a professional dark souls dialog skipper, I have never managed to get the cut audio from Oceiros, the game never let me “skip the dialog” no mater how many times I pressed the a button
14:19 sir that is a dog
That's what I'm saying like.. 😭
@@Kaden6659 finally someone who knows their animals
Silent Hill's snake monster looks like a tsuchinoko.
48 push ups later
im so glad I found this channel
The base of elh was reused for mamuta in pikman I believe. Idk why nobody is talking about that. Look at the arms and animation
Wow that sound of the baby is known as the brick v baby
Osiris at the beginning is enough to make me sub.
I subbed as soon as you said what kind of content you do
I feel like ELH stands for Elemental Humanoid or Elemental Horror
Mister friendly .is. a
Giant
Uncooked
Chicken
I figured the MKY creatures from Silent Hill must've been something else and an assumption was made about the acronym so I looked it up. Except all the other names match the creature, more or less: CKN, FRG, OST, SNK.
👏What👏the👏fuck👏 do they think monkeys are
Didn't even touch the scariest part of Mr friendly (I don't blame you)
something i think is interesting about half life is that the attacks on homophobia go beyond just mr friendly too -- one of my favourites being that the Lambda, the symbol used by the resistance in HL2, is also an official symbol of gay and lesbian liberation in real life :]
[as well as a few other things, but those could also just be me projecting since im a queer dude and love half life :p]
Keep Yourself Safe
I'm pretty sure that Oceiros is pretending that his baby is there cause Oceiros is blind but idk that's just my opinion
13:17 HOW is that a *frog?!*
