  • Zandvoort. The home of racing in Holland. One of my favourite tracks and one of the most technical, fast flowing circuits on the calendar, especially in GT3 where it's all about apex speed rather than corner exit. It tests cars and drivers to their limit in ways other tracks don't.

    Another intuitive track guide mate! Really enjoying this series of videos, a lot of insight as to the precision of the lines that is optimum for reducing lap times. ☺

      Not good, but i was not concentrated. And i did just drive and did not analyze my "better" rounds, why i was still slow as fuck. This evening i give it another try

    Smashing another lap guide out of the park, chap. Invaluable, as another step entering month 5 of the sim racing newbie journey. Bentley, as long as I can get the aircraft carrier rotated, is mighty around here. "It's not about your exit speed, it's about the speed you carry" was the greatest takeaway here, for me. Once I got my mindset changed to adhere to that maxim, especially for that long tricky right hander at T5, I found bags of time. Only 1s off your time now, from being stuck in the mid .38s, which is amazing. Need to work on consistency, as always, and especially to protect burning up the front left tyre, but would not have a plan without your excellent guide, Matt! A grateful salute, as always!

      @@Zermatt1 Just to give you an update, mate, in case anyone was not yet convinced by the efficacy of your guides...
      Managed to apply your principles to get down to 35.8 for race pace at 34c track temp. With a bit of luck, I was able to bag 3rd and 1st in my split this weekend. At my previous fastest pace, without learning from your guide, I would not have broken into the top 20 of the split. Always more to learn but thank you so much, and on to the next round!

      @@Zermatt1 right. Plus I use MPH, so I can compare corner speeds easier. Finally got my pace in the 1-39’s at Zandvoort. Practice, practice, practice! I love that track, but I still can’t believe they are going to run F1 on that go-kart size track.

    • @Zermatt1
      @Zermatt1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Super! Hope was helpful! Zandvoort certainly has some tricky parts to it, tricky places to time the turn in and a distinct lack of brake markers through that middle sector

    • @jackyharrisracing750
      @jackyharrisracing750 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Zermatt1 The middle sector is quite challenging to work out breaking intensity, not just markers. Your guide is a brilliant starting point for me.

    Great video! But could you explain "mini double apex"?

    • @Zermatt1
      @Zermatt1  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Apologies for the delay. Certainly. Instead of having one apex, you will have two apexes in some of these slow corners around zandvoort. If you take turn 4 (the banked one in real life now) then a lot of people will take a constant arc around the inside here and lose a small opportunity to cut back straighter and apply full throttle faster.
