Martin hasn't been regularly visible with the band for some years. In an interview Chrissie said she wanted to get back to playing clubs - "I want to get smaller, not bigger". She also noted that financially this is a losing proposition, with recent stadium tour dates with Guns 'n' Roses helping make up for the loss. That might have influenced Martin's thinking, though I'm more of the impression he has moved on in life.
