Is China Airlines the BEST TRANS-TASMAN ECONOMY CLASS? Auckland to Brisbane Airbus A350-900 Review

- Join AussieJetSetter for a very special flight review as I take one of the small handful of fifth freedom flights operating Trans-Tasman between New Zealand and Australia on China Airline's almost daily Auckland to Brisbane service which continues on to Taipei, Taiwan! During this 3.5 hour flight across the Tasman I get the chance to experience an review flying Trans-Tasman from a whole different perspective from what is currently the norm offered by the big 4 Australian and New Zealand airlines flying across the ditch.
In this review I seek to put China Airlines to the ultimate test to see whether the 4-5 star airline lives up to expectation about the airline being rated one of Asia's best full service airlines and economy class products. I will assess everything from the ground handling experience, to the aircraft and seat condition, on board food and beverage offerings and of course value for money and ultimately wherever its worth your time and money giving China Airlines a try over your usual airlines flying Trans-Tasman in 2024 admits the backdrop of fierce competition on the route!
As an added bonus before leaving Auckland I will also review the airport's public use and Priority Pass eligible Strata Lounge offering my take on whether its worth a visit on your next international flight out of New Zealand!

Thanks for watching . Of course absolutely the most luxurious way with First to travel across the Tasman as I said in the review. Have Travelled economy with Emirates once across the Tasman from Auckland to Sydney ( a long while back) that was really good too!
What does everyone think Emirates or China Airlines a better economy class product across the Ditch or is there something even better you prefer! Get commenting with your preferred airline now :)
@@AussieJetSetter AirNZ would be my preference but a 777 or 787 the A320's are ok but they don't have the same comfort levels as a long haul airliner. That's why when offered a choice I take the biggest Bus. AirNZs catering is usually better than its rivals especially in economy.
Thanks for your input, yes I do prefer to fly Air NZ over Qantas Trans-Tasman but definitely want to try a triple 777 across the Ditch one day only been on a a320! Hopefully get on the Dreamliner from Perth to Auckland one day too ( when the Wamos arrangement ends)
@@AussieJetSetter the one you want to try for is ZK-OKQ the All Blacks livery. It does fly AKL - BNE and AKL - MEL and SYD

I agree. I had a great Experience Not that I have much trust in the integrity of SkyTrax but surprised they only got 4 stars. Defs seemed
up there with Singapore Airlines and Cathay Pacific from what I experienced!

Thanks for watching Brad, great to hear to you had a good experience! Was that on the a330 or 737-800? I certainly understand the a330 is a far superior business class experience flying coast to coast so I’d say it’s much the same Trans-Tasman!
Sorry i think i misread your comment, i think you meant you flew China Airlines in Bizz class by using Qantas points, i certainly bet that was a great experience!. The cabin interior looks really amazing too!

Fantastic review mate! I didn't even know this 5th Freedom route existed with China Airlines! The A350 is simply majestic and is a totally different experience from the usual players for this Trans Tasman route! 👍👍

Hi mate, that's really an interesting flight review. Next time, you can also give China Eastern's fifth freedom flight across the Tasman sea a go (between Sydney and Auckland, with Airbus A330-200).

I have flown this route (Brisbane - Auckland) on China Airlines several times and do so by choice now, first, excellent service, great food, free movies, and best of all more legroom (I'm 183cm) than cattle-class Jetstar and most other options.
Slightly more expensive than other budget carriers but IMO well worth it.
Thanks for watching and offering your input as a much more frequent traveller on that route than myself. I agree based on how competitively China Airlines were priced against Qantas and Air NZ and not much more than Jetstar they are a very compelling option given all thus stated extras included!

You got a very good ticket fare on China Airlines, from Auckland to Brisbane., far better airfare than what that other lot charge for a over rated sub-standard service. Awesome flight review you made here👍✈
