What I like about your channel is you review Economy class unlike others who continue to review business or 1st which most passengers can’t afford. Reviewing long haul trips in economy is very welcome.
I live in the US. Even on a 6 hour flight here some airlines don't even offer a sandwich for purchase, let alone getting served one. A tuna sandwich and a drink, to some can be considered a snack, but it's still a meal service. On an 11 hour flight, getting served 3 times is rare no matter what you choose to call it.

I have tried China Airline's all three classes, I like their economy, love the business class, but not so impressed with the premium economy due to its hard shell design. When you recline, the seat moves forward and compresses your leg room. But the food is definitely great, not just good, in all three classes.
I flew their premium economy from Taipei to London and the overall experience was phenomenal. Food was great, seats were very comfortable and staff was very friendly and helpful. Highly underrated airline.
Finally someone to tell the different between China Airline and Air China, feeling sad that a lot of people making joke to both China and Taiwan. And as a Taiwanese, I'm trying to comment in all the videos that are making joke about "China Airline" and telling them what is wrong what is wrong. I'm so tired to do this everytime.

I flew China Airlines in 2016 (Honolulu -Tokyo-Taipei) and in 2019 (Seoul to Taipei). Both times the aircrafts were old. Seats were very outdated. Very disappointed (although the food and service were fine) It's great to see there's been a major upgrade of their aircrafts. Both China Airlines and Eva Airlines are products of Taiwan. Wonderful country! Diverse, fun and progressive.
@@TyLAR006 I love A330's 2-4-2 economy layout only if the seats and facilities have been upgraded. During the same trip in 2019, I also flew Delta's A330 from Seoul to Seattle. New plane, new seats! Very enjoyable.

I love China Airlines’ A350 soooo much! The cabin is among the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, so much so the vibe and ambience inspired my new bedroom. I really like the way it turned out, so a flight on that plane is definitely on the cards for the future! Their A321neo looks equally nice inside too.
A few years ago I flew China Airlines from Sydney to London via Taipei and was very happy with the service provided, better than Singapore Airlines imo.
Any airline from the Republic of China is very much better than any airline in mainland China, but Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong is a great airline too
I flew a couple of times with China Airlines to Taipei before the pandemic (the latest was in 2019). In 2017 I even managed to get on board one of their special A350s with the Magpie livery. A very good airline, IMHO. I've also flown with Eva Air. Another great airline, although I think China Airlines is ever slightly more refined.

As a Taiwanese, I know it is confusing for foreigners to differentiate these two airlines. China Airlines is actually an official Taiwanese company. There have been many discussions among Taiwanese people about changing the name, but no results have been achieved due to political obstacles...😢
I'll soon fly on one of their A350 from HKG to TPE, was very surprised to see that plane on such a short (but probably very popular) route. The flight back will be on the A320, not often do you get the chance to test a wide body and a narrow body on one round trip.
I'm a Japanese person who loves China Airlines. I use it often. We use Taoyuan Airport transit to destinations such as the United States, Canada, France, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.
CI 36 is a charter A350-900 flight TPE-PHX when needed. CI 36 is ferried to LAX from PHX empty. Then the same plane CI 7 is used on a regular service to TPE using the A350-900.
As a Taiwanese, I can tell now China Airlines is the best in Taiwan, even better than EVA Air. China Airlines is underrated probably due to several serious incidents happened around 2000’s that still some of people have a bad impression. But now China airlines already showed their reformation.
I flew China Airlines from Vancouver to Taipei couple weeks ago, A350-900 was a phenomenally good flight. Then connected Taipei to Manila which was my final destination. A really good flight experience!

I had great experience traveling on China Airlines. I didn’t have much hope at first until I started watching reviews on TH-cam. I recently traveled from JFK to Singapore which stopped in Taipei. Then did a flight from Singapore to Taipei. Then finally a flight from Taipei back to JFK. The first flight from JFK was extremely delayed, the boarding process was a mess and chaotic. I also purchased an economy premium seat to Singapore and from Taipei back to JFK. The flight from JFK was good, the meals were served with metal cutlery, an amenity kit,my seat was comfortable, I rested well. The cabin was clean and the crew were very attentive to my food allergy. The second flight from Taipei to Singapore, was good except the cabin was dirty(my seat and the bathroom). The food was good as well as service. My flight from Singapore to Taipei, I flew in economy. The cabin was pretty much empty but I encountered a wonderful crew and exceptional service. I had a row all to myself. Finally the flight from Taipei back to JFK, the premium economy cabin wasn’t full, but I had a neighbor next me which the crew asked to move to an empty row due to my nut allergy. I would definitely recommend anyone traveling to Asia, to use China Airlines. I forgot I received a voucher for free WiFi to use on board.
Thanks for this incredible video! In July of 2023 I also flew this route VIE-TPE-ICN on my way to the World Scout Jamboree in Korea this year and I sat in Seat 73K, so the whole video feels like a re-experience of what had happened this summer - so cool!
Just flew China Airlines and typically precovid I’ve always flew with Cathay Pacific. Service was better than CP. Food was not as good. Staff extra attentitive - and on the ball. A350 cabin felt newer - not sure if it’s had an updated cabin ? Would fly with them again without hesitation for long haul. Short haul in Asia for CA- not nearly as impressive but ok for 3 hours.
ROC airlines are my go to airlines when visiting family in BKK. My two sisters, niece and brother-in-law decided to fly an US airline to PRC then some PRC airline to BKK. Luggage was lost. Never had luggage issue in ROC - flown about 20 times.
Strangly enough, I did had a snack & beverage service with China Airlines on the AMS-TPE route in april 2023. They even gave me a whole can of coke instead of just a cup. During lunch, the crew also handed out ice cream. On the way back from TPE-AMS no snack service before the main meal, no ice cream and drinks were just poured into a cup. Seems they went over the top one the way to TPE, still I love China Airlines very much. It's my standard choice when travelling to Asia!
I live near ONT (10-15 min) so been using ONT-TPE to connect to other Asian countries many times. It's SOOO much easier than leaving LAX. I agree that China Airlines is great. I prefers their premium economy seat over SIA.
I fly China airlines and Eva from n.america to Taipei a few times a year. They are cheap but still have moderately good seats and above average crew members so imo, worth it bang for the buck wise.
It seems like a good airline, but as you pointed out David, there are small downgrades in the food & beverage service and no more hot towels either. It seems that all the premium carriers are now making these cut-backs to regular economy, all the while charging very high fares since the pandemic. Let's see if airlines improve their service in any way after this current pent-up demand for travel eases right off, as it surely will, due to cost of living pressures in most westernised countries at the moment.
Service to and from Ontario might seem odd to you, but for locals, it’s a great option. Most flights from LA to Asia depart from LAX. Locals HATE flying in and out of LAX! Currently china airlines is the only airline with service to Asia from Ontario. It’s definitely a smart move by china airlines.

This is a perfect example of why Taiwan is not part of Mainland China. It will never be part of China. The people, the culture and the way business is conducted is very different. Taiwan is a modern country. China is still in the feudal age. I can say EVA and China Airlines are comparable to Singapore and Korean. Air China is like Spirit or Ryan Air.
According to the current Constitution of the Republic of China, Taiwan and mainland China are part of the same country. Due to the special relationship between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, the constitutional jurisdiction of the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China is legally defined to include each other's territories. Currently, the Republic of China classifies its national territory into three regions: the mainland area, the Hong Kong and Macau area, and the Taiwan area. The Taiwan area falls under the jurisdiction of the Republic of China's constitution, while the other two areas fall under the jurisdiction of the People's Republic of China's constitution. As a result, the entry and exit procedures for mainland Chinese citizens, as well as Hong Kong and Macau residents who are not considered foreigners, differ from those for foreigners. They need to apply for an Entry and Exit Permit for the Taiwan Area of the Republic of China, rather than a visa.
@nickhe6780 Then why do Taiwanese people not have Chinese Passports??? I have been to Taipei and the people were friendly, courteous and many spoke English. I thought "no way this place is part of mainland China because I actually felt safe".
For their regional flights from sgp to tpe I will NVR use them again opting for starlux as my first choice and Eva if I cannot get starlux and on my way back on SQ simply because china airlines and starlux return flights are too early in the morning. One thing I hate most in economy is the absence of silver ware as EVA starlux and sQ all serve with silverware...and sq free wifi in all classes if they are members of their loyalty program...
Quite shocked anyone would think China Airlines are "under-rated" Lets just say they aren't an airline I would rush to return to any time soon, in fact I would place them significantly below the other two main ROC international carriers.

Does anyone have any information about the TV screens / fold tables in this airplane at seat row 61 (IJK seats)? Those are the ones at the emergency exit facing the cabin crew seats.
I flew from Amsterdam to Taipei in July 2019 and July 2023. Service has stayed the same, but the food on my last flight was not great. Meals were bland and somehow the fruit was very salty. A shame because its a great airline!

Turkish Airlines uses the A350 on their Istanbul-Antalya route during the summer, and that's only a 45 minute flight!

I thought they stop in BKK. Actually it is a good route - avoid Bay of Biscay, over Yunnan and approach Hong Kong form land side.

I think feudal is a bit too far. But ppl in PRC are more individualistic and less about community minded and service attitude.

For their regional flights from sgp to tpe I will NVR use them again opting for starlux as my first choice and Eva if I cannot get starlux and on my way back on SQ simply because china airlines and starlux return flights are too early in the morning. One thing I hate most in economy is the absence of silver ware as EVA starlux and sQ all serve with silverware...and sq free wifi in all classes if they are members of their loyalty program...

Correct. But also for passengers with special privileges such as Star Alliance Gold members or one world gold members etc.

I flew from Amsterdam to Taipei in July 2019 and July 2023. Service has stayed the same, but the food on my last flight was not great. Meals were bland and somehow the fruit was very salty. A shame because its a great airline!
