Love that they include new units for the earlier games, and the detail is, as you say, astounding; I've turned some missions into a bastardised looter-shooter/inventory management RTS. A simply glorious waste of time. I shall be purchasing Liberation surely.

fun fact for those who dont know but WW2 Armor, a reenacting armor group based out of florida, helped out with the models and equipment of this DLC as they made a post on their FB page back in August of 23. Some of the models would be the long tom, the M18, a few shermans and i think the pershing. i HIGHLY recommend going to their reenactments if possible for you.
I was initially extremely disappointed to find the British Commonwealth left out of a DLC about the Western Front, but after seeing this I can see the effort that went into the sheer variety of units. I also appreciate the reference to the Royal Navy’s role in the landing of US troops in D-day as well. All this gives me hope that we would see a very extensive DLC in the future including British, Canadian and Free French & Polish Forces in all their variants. Maybe even Italian front units including Indians and ANZACs.
I love the devs put their heart and soul for these DLCS, worth every penny, and I hope they would expand more, from africa theatre to pacific. Hell, I would pay every cent for a vietnam one One of the most dedicated devs out there especially talking about today's day and age
Btw those are not rocket launchers they are Grappling hooks which were used many times most famously against point du hoc during D-Day. And for the for the priest, self-propelled gun, you’re able to see on the Lee base that has rivets on it and the Sherman base it is not riveted armour I don’t know if it will make a difference in game though. In real life when the priest started production, the M3 Lee, was the base tank used by the United States Army and by the late 40s the M4 had replaced the M3 so they continue production using the M4 chassis
One think I think is missing from these games that would make it overwhelmingly superior than most is the ability to pause the game, give orders, and stack commands and orders similar to a waypoint system. Unpausing it would then execute those commands. The only game I can think of that does this is the Combat Mission series. Just an opinion, but I think if a system like this was implemented, along with solid a solid UI, would make it second to none.
@@theShermanator you can only pause during the campaign. Would love that function during conquest mode at the very least. Much more of a relaxed type of player and high intense games where I’m quickly having to dart around the map and micromanage things becomes old for me.
I discovered this game by accident I always thought COH3 was the leader, now I know different. The game is worth every penny for the level of detail that has been put into it in my opinion

I mean I guess they just added the Eng-tab because LCA's are British vehicles. Many American troops that were transported across the Channel on Royal Navy Ships landed in these, I.E. the Rangers at Pointe du Hoc and Omaha, and both 1st and 29th ID troops at Omaha. Their landing craft just depended on which transport ship they'd been sailing.: LCVP's for American transports, LCA's for British

The game has more maps and content then most games, and its great, each match is always different then the last and i love conquest, also the way they set the game and release it is how it should be. Modern games need to learn from this, since dlc isnt pay to win
Man the conquest mode is bugged on defensive maps,going great you slaughter them and you only have like 20 points left of theirs to kill, but ten minutes of nothing and The enemy stop coming and you go searching all the map, then 10 mins later another wave of theirs...five men. Kill them and you wait another ten minutes for them to send one more squad. And this just repeats, my last attempt was almost an hour before i retreated. I t shoukd have been 20 mins max.
You definetely have to play the game alittle differently now with the us faction. The core game is still there, but the tactics changed purely based on the weapons, equipment, and enviroment which I think is awesome and pretty realistic.
this dlc is a breath of fresh air with more attack missions , the stupid amount of defense missions in the german campaign really exhausted me mentaly , and its good to finaly get away from the russians for once

How does the M18 hold up? I remember in Robz it's mobility was nerfed and your crew would get consistently killed off by small arms (at least in my experience).

Well, I think you can see for yourself MoW 2 is more focused on PvP GoH more on SP/COOP GoH looks better imo MoW2 has a few gameplay mechanics that are better like better building combat, reverse button I prefer GoH but I do like MoW2 for what it is
I haven't been able to play LIberation, I purchased the DLC, installed it, but whenever I open the game and start german or USA missions, the map is completely black, I only hear the sounds of explotions but nothing else, this happens in all maps from the DLC, the other ones work fine, and yep, I already tried reinstalling the game several times, any idea what is going on?
Instead of releasing new content I wish someone would fix the GOH AI. Some of the bugs have been there since MOW:AS, such as Tank destroyers rotating until they run out of fuel, soldiers not sticking to the direction you tell them to look, tanks rotating to put their weak rear armour to face the direction the last AP shot came from... pathfinding still awful. Ive got 36Ghz total CPU power, why does GOH use just a fraction of it? I love GOH IN SPITE OF its flaws.
Hey! Haven’t played in a while and the research tree is different in conquest mode. Anyone have any idea if there’s I guide to the new research tree anywhere? Eg. playing as the Americans and trying to get to rangers, I go to veterans 2, veterans 2+, and if I continue down the line I should get rangers, but says unlock previous first… I’m not understanding what one is the previous, cause veterans 2+ is the one that is previous to it along the line
I think you have to follow all the lines no, so you need bazookas, which requires stage 3 or 4 call in which requires some command HQ elements to be unlocked

lol they do and the medic does yes The military police are in multiple missions and I think act as the lowest tier of like reserve infantry (maybe) I know they are obviously usable in the editor

It's a shame that games don't show medics being non combatant and not shot at, considering the Western front was known for how "gentleman" like the conflict was, and how well medics were generally respected.
@@ThatMedi West Front was not "gentlemanly", never heard of all the warcrimes that were commited? Malmedy? Biscari? Sinking of the Tubingen? Suffice to say medics were also indeed shot at, its war.
I realized that when the AI cannot deal with you face to face it leaves the map and it goes around. I dont know how is that allowed. Like it happens to me when i lay mines they go off the map to avoid them or they go off the map to avoid hedgerows. I played the 1st mission of liberation and they went off the map to flank me avoiding hedgerows

@@billpolychronidis7805 it's to avoid abusing the AI, for example blocking their vehicles in a single point with hedgehogs and bombing all of them to pieces. You should set up your defences in a credible way, with the possibility of enemy flanking in mind

That 155mm American artillery is what is known as a Long Tom, which was seen countless times on the western front in WW2.

Also, Ostfront is 2 years old by now, almost 3 I think, and it was on sale for literally under $10.

Newbie here. Is there a way to attach the camera to an AI-controlled unit? Similar to how it works when you take control with E / T keys, so you don't have to keep moving the camera manually to keep up with the moving vehicle...
No, I dont think so, unless you are direct controlling, but thats a great potential feature, maybe something for their feedback discord channel!

I hope so, but nothing is confirmed, this DLC came out almost 18 months or so after their previous faction, so we will likely not see any new faction, Brits or other for a year+

MoW 2 is more focused on PvP
GoH more on SP/COOP
GoH looks better imo
MoW2 has a few gameplay mechanics that are better like better building combat, reverse button
I prefer GoH but I do like MoW2 for what it is

I haven't been able to play LIberation, I purchased the DLC, installed it, but whenever I open the game and start german or USA missions, the map is completely black, I only hear the sounds of explotions but nothing else, this happens in all maps from the DLC, the other ones work fine, and yep, I already tried reinstalling the game several times, any idea what is going on?

Instead of releasing new content I wish someone would fix the GOH AI. Some of the bugs have been there since MOW:AS, such as Tank destroyers rotating until they run out of fuel, soldiers not sticking to the direction you tell them to look, tanks rotating to put their weak rear armour to face the direction the last AP shot came from... pathfinding still awful.
Ive got 36Ghz total CPU power, why does GOH use just a fraction of it?
I love GOH IN SPITE OF its flaws.

Hey! Haven’t played in a while and the research tree is different in conquest mode. Anyone have any idea if there’s I guide to the new research tree anywhere? Eg. playing as the Americans and trying to get to rangers, I go to veterans 2, veterans 2+, and if I continue down the line I should get rangers, but says unlock previous first… I’m not understanding what one is the previous, cause veterans 2+ is the one that is previous to it along the line
I think you have to follow all the lines no, so you need bazookas, which requires stage 3 or 4 call in which requires some command HQ elements to be unlocked

lol they do and the medic does yes
The military police are in multiple missions and I think act as the lowest tier of like reserve infantry (maybe) I know they are obviously usable in the editor
@@theShermanator not even an rts can have the laws of war.... smh. Only game ever that I know of where units don't immedietly obliterate medics would be company of heros. It's a shame that games don't show medics being non combatant and not shot at, considering the Western front was known for how "gentleman" like the conflict was, and how well medics were generally respected.
@@ThatMedi West Front was not "gentlemanly", never heard of all the warcrimes that were commited? Malmedy? Biscari? Sinking of the Tubingen? Suffice to say medics were also indeed shot at, its war.

For infantry? no, the new skins for infantry are in the works but not released; no clue when, it was a far away announcement iirc
I realized that when the AI cannot deal with you face to face it leaves the map and it goes around. I dont know how is that allowed. Like it happens to me when i lay mines they go off the map to avoid them or they go off the map to avoid hedgerows. I played the 1st mission of liberation and they went off the map to flank me avoiding hedgerows
This happened to us too, thought it was a feature

@@billpolychronidis7805 it's to avoid abusing the AI, for example blocking their vehicles in a single point with hedgehogs and bombing all of them to pieces.
You should set up your defences in a credible way, with the possibility of enemy flanking in mind
