Love the Soviets in gates of hell, my family came from Ukraine and had hero's in the family on that side of the war, and here in the USA. My grandfather a American veteran of the 34th infantry division (and second generation Ukrainian immigrant as well) fought in North Africa, Sicily and Italy, with 2 purple hearts, soldiers medal, 2 bronze stars, he put it into perspective for me. He was a extremely tough guy and I looked up to him, his unit saw more combat time than any other US division in the European theatre, only some marine units saw more direct combat time in the pacific. Even with all that though he would point out that when he was over in Italy and got a newspaper he just couldn't believe the scale and ferocity of the fighting on the eastern front, what was a massive battle in Italy was simply a regular day of the week skirmish on the eastern front. 80% of all German casualties were caused by Soviet soldiers and machines, it really is hard to imagine.
Your Grandfather likely fought alongside my great grandfather who was a part of Bernard "Monty" Montgomery's 8th Army and as such shared the same theatres as your Granddad.
the T-35 is as beast, but at no means it's a front liner as the SMK, so if you can make it on some cover, or give it the opportunity to do the first shoot against the opponent, that's really, really powerful early game vehicle...
Yup, I love that thing as a kind of rear line support, rolling it about to plug any gaps during a defense, as long as there is some infantry or some AT guns a bit forward of it to draw fire its weak armor isn't a issue, so the incredible firepower really shines. I have actually kept some T-35 well into the midgame that somehow survived that long with very experienced crews.
Yeah, I had a series with it and had some moments of brilliance. I can't recommend it due to what I feel are better options to start. If you get hit with one good shell, you could be out of a campaign due to funds. Either way, it's to the users' discretion
17:00 I grab that aa truck too but I find AA to be a weak point of the soviets. You need a 3.7cm (or 40mm for US) to reliably shoot down planes. The 2cm flaks take too long to kill and have smaller ranges so they often fail to take a bomber down on 1 pass. The best AA are 3.7cm flaks on vehicles (and germans have a sdk and an armored sdk). Nothing gets past one of these. Or you grab a heavy AA for antitank and AA (1 shot kills planes but slow reload). The soviet truck, yak 75mm is the premium for this purpose at only 20 popcap cost (beats the german 8.8cm flak sdk 35 popcap cost - still amazing value).
The Soviets have one of the best AA units in the game. The DSHK on a truck has saved me several times on defense because they're cheap as hell and they mulch infantry like crazy. You can have 3 of them for 18 points, amazing value.
@@The1337guy1 i never tried it. How many do you need in the same location to reliably knock down planes? 6 popcap is super easy to fit into call ins and offers high utility value (multiple expendable light vehicles). More micro tho. Just for comparison, 37mm flak (grounded or mounted has popcap cost of approx 12) will take down a heavy bomber in 1-3 shots. So it can down planes even passing by the edge of its range (assuming you gave it an attack command).
I love the cost and only 6 pop cap, but it didn't perform well for me last night. The biggest issue was only running 50 rounds and poor reload. I could only burst fire and had to be cognitive of the reload too much. The DSKA could be good for support, but I can't recommend. I did 3 matches with it

Great guide Puggo! Really helpful!

Nice video Puggo!
Excellent video again. With the new tech trees released, are you planning a new conquest?
I have a quick Finland campaign, but am awaiting the new DLC. No telling when it will drop
LETS GOOOO
Call me crazy but I like to go low economy so im more equal in tech to the enamy
Mr. Puggo, how did you change the UI size?
Honestly, I don't remember haha. It has to be in the options. If I find it I will letcha know
@@PuggoRebornChannel I spent 15 minutes looking through the options and I couldn't find it. But thanks man.
I'm pretty sure the UI scales with your desktop scaling settings.
I will never play as these scumbags but I still love watching these guides.
You're missing out. They got some great units!
Who do you usually play as?
You know exactly who he plays as!
