I saw this on the eShop and was wondering about it, so it's good to see a review of it here. It seemed like it would be a nice adventure with simple but lovely visuals. It's a massive shame that it's brought down by performance issues, not being able to manually save with those issues in mind, and lack of accessibility options. It seems to have some good ideas behind it, but it's let down by all those drawbacks. Hopefully some fixes can be applied later down the line, but for now, I appreciate you taking one for the team and reviewing it.

That’s a shame. I hope that, if there is a meaningful update to the game, that it is covered here. I’ll keep my eye out.

@@EricGranata I have found it to not be near as bad as she portrays it to be. I think she wants an Xbox/PS experience on the Switch which will never happen. Its a great little game for the Switch and one I personally recommend.

To your comment of the OST reminding you of RiME, that's was a spot-on appreciation. It was composed by the same musician, David García, and part of the rest of the dev team also worked in RiME.

When you talked about the developer's dedication section, I had a flashback to that episode of The Boondocks where Riley makes the mural for his Grandad of his wedding day. I'm glad games like this get made, it's a shame the controls aren't as tight as they could be. But after playing Slain, I think my bar is set to overlook them.

Thanks for the great review! Did anybody else have problems with the Romance Level? I can't seem to get past the part after you fly around the statues of the couple onto the mountain. Let me know if anybody has found a fix for that!

I just bought this game today and I haven’t played it yet. It looks like it would be a good game

Shame about the technical issues. Maybe a good idea to play this one on a different platform.

That's too bad. On Xbox one x it was flawless performance wise! Definitely curious to see how the definitive edition compares to my version of the game.

You must be really picky with games because I just got it on Switch and I have not noticed hardly any stutters or frame rate drops playing in Dock mode. I have yet to play in Hand Held mode yet, but either they have fixed these issues or you are extremely picky. It is well worth the $9 bucks on Nintendo E-shop right now. Also comparing a Switch version to a Xbox or PS is pointless we all know the capabilities of the Switch are not as good. The idea is to have a cool game you can take with you easily. I am not giving those things a pass, and I do go after them especially when they are as bad as WWE 2K on Switch. I am about halfway in and have yet to see any issues that take away from the game experience for me at least.

Its interesting to hear yourself (and others) saying that they havent had issues with frame rate drops and glitches etc. I have experienced major problems throughout the game to the extent that it really did ruin the game for me and at times the audio would go into a full blown glitch attack and would need a reset to fix it. I wish i had bought it for PS4 instead. I wonder what the variables are that offer different experiences for users of the game on Switch(Other than maybe a much lower threshold of acceptance for stability issues)

@@andyb311 I cannot speak for others just the experience I had was not bad at all and I do not know why. I just did not experience any of it that got my attention off the game.

hard to imagine why all the "pro"reviewers from metacritic gave it 80.
