As a father, I've played this game twice and just watched it with you, and I BAWL MY EYES OUT every time. I love everything about it. I appreciate how much you interpret the symbolism in the game. How every detail portrays part of the story.
The symbolism, use of music, and environments were masterfully done to produce such a beautiful story. These indie studios have so much great talent. Thanks for showing us these games!
I'm somehow in the midst of this playthrough, and I've got to admit this game is a joy to watch.... some of these "smaller games" are mid blowing to see.. Just the graphics. sound... just reminds me of childhood memories.. Keep the good work Maggie 👍... I wanna see more content like this!
I'm thrilled about this concept! Taking cozy days off to immerse yourself in the beauty of indie games sounds like a fantastic idea. I'm genuinely looking forward to any upcoming content that delves into simple yet captivating stories. Thanks a bunch, Kasta!
Highly recommend Before Your Eyes. The game is about how fast life passes by. It can be played with an eye tracker to determine when you blink in real life. When you blink, the game progresses and goes to the next scene. If you don't have an eye tracker, you can play with Mouse and Keyboard (you just press Space to blink and progress). Extremely original and thought provoking game. I also recommend Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons. Again it can be beat in a sitting or two. Very pretty and feelsy game
Never did play this one, but after the To The Moon playthrough I'm watching any game like it that you play, and now that I finished watching I think it was a good call watching you play it instead of me playing it, you just have that touch and insight to these games, your empathy is astounding, and to me makes the game even more beautiful
The music perfectly captures the emotions of the game, intensifying every moment. It pulls at your heartstrings, immersing you in the experience and leaving you emotionally torn. A masterpiece, a sensory delight. :)
Damn, this was so beautiful. I have this game on my wishlist for ages, but never got around to it, so thank you for playing! In chapter 4, I think they had to leave their town because there were earthquakes. Thats how I interpret that. In general, I think the game depicts this "your life flashing before your eyes when you die" thing. The memories that stuck with you throughout all and then at the very end, Hope. The hope that when you die, you find your loved ones again in heaven or whatever else you believe in. Edit: Like you kind of said, I actually think you are hopelessly romantic. It looks like Untold Tales, the publisher, has many smaller games, not sure about the developer Piccolo itself. I have another one of them on my wishlist, Atone: Heart of the Elder Tree. I also just finished Banishers: Ghost of New Eden and that one might be a game for you. Quite Witcher-like in some aspects with a story about a relationship at its core too. It is quite a bit longer though (50+ hours for me). The stacked rocks are called cairns and have been used for a variety of different things throughout time. For some examples, today they mostly mark routes in remote areas like national parks, they have been used in rituals and they also marked burial sites. Rocks and other things that make you think you can use them = Red Herrings (a clue or piece of information that is, or is intended to be, misleading or distracting) If you play co-op, you control the guy, the second player controls the "time". Looking forward to the next Indie game! Thanks again for doing these! PS: As usually you are way too self critical about not giving enough commentary, I think you said a lot in this.
Been on my backlog for a while so cool to watch your play through to experience it! If you want a recommendation for a short-but-sweet game Sayonara Wild Hearts is one of my favorite indie games of all time and you can beat it in one night.
Woah the fact of the matter that you are playing this game is wild to me in a good way as someone who already played this cozy game I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Yeeaaaah I also missed a few of those memories as well when I first played this game don't worry you're not the only one.😅 P.S. the romance chapter and fruit chapter we're my personal favorite and I'm glad you decided to play this beautiful indie game. 😊
5 minutes in and you have me craving a short sweet game like this. Always setting the bar… Hope you try Child of Light one of these times (though it’s not so short).
A nice, relaxing game I’ve played is, Lost Words. It’s about a girl’s journey reacting to her grandmother’s stroke. She’s writing a story and in her journal during the game. It’s a platformer/side scroller with good voice acting and nice art. This game has better art and I think I’ll check it out. Lost Words is still a game I’d recommend though. I only stayed a little bit for this video, might stay longer 🙂, since if I buy it, I don’t want to have too much of the game spoiled.
I’m not even halfway through this play through and love this game already. I’m watching it in bits and pieces because the video is a bit long for me, my attention span apparently doesn’t exist😂, so I’m sorry about that. When I watched a play through on ‘Short Hike’ of yours a few months ago, I fell in love with it and bought a couple of days later and finished it....sort of, I haven’t caught all the fish yet....but anyway your commentary and voices you did during that game helped me decide to get that game and I’m loving how much fun you’re making this game feel too, it’s cute and quite frankly quite nice to see you genuinely have fun and play the game with a smile on your face from go to woe👍. Just watched your RE2 play through, take care Maggie.
Maggie... (it feels weird calling you by your first name, even though we have never met) But I just wanted to say that I stumbled across your page about a week ago. I was cleaning my place and I needed some background noise, well I ended up sitting down and watching your content. After what it seemed like 15 minutes turned into an entire session. I enjoy your content, as well as the way you see the little things when it comes to gaming. I subscribed to your page and I look forward to hearing and seeing more.
I'm obviously not watching this but Maggie has clearly been shook by RE2 hardcore LMAO We also know why she's more goldfish than others... There's too many things overloading her mind lol
I played Journey a while ago over on Twitch. I might be due for a replay of it too! Here's the playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLQ1EWahkJveYQKFMS6H13371Hqq94MuJq.html Enjoy!!
Ah, I played through Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons over on Twitch some time ago. Here's the link to the playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLQ1EWahkJvebAxfN56UgzTMckqnt9YdQH.html Enjoy!
Great you are playing another indie game and in it's entirety this evening and Arise- A Simple Story looks like it will be an emotional game and I know I'll like it thanks Maggie.😿🥲

Thank you for sharing this Maggie. Your commentary and thoughts on life made this intersting and fun to watch. Take care.

This game is poetry. So touching…
