just started learning animation, even though im confident in my drawing skills yets its like ive been presented a new whole mountain to climb up. Thanks for the tutorial and wish me luck on my journey!
Animation is a very cool kind of artistry to me because there can be good animators with amateur drawing skills and amazing artists with amateur animating skills 😂 but we are all on the same path to get better 😆
something like this has probably already been said but, for making it look natural smaller groupings of strands will be lighter and be affected more by the winds so you may want to exaggerte their flow and the may not fully settle between gusts, you could also split the hair into more sections, or if you want to put in the extra effort you could imagine the wave of air flowing accross and try to pick up strands as you'd imagine them being affected by the airflow, ofcourse this is alot more work so it depends on how important the flow is to the scene and how much time you have to do it.
I'm most of my way through an exercise project right now that this lesson would have been perfect for. I think I'll do another pass using this as the guide when I'm done for the added practice. Thanks Dong, these lessons are clutch!
The way I understood this: This is a gentle breeze that moves rather slowly, which means that one side will be reached before the other. Therefore, movement on one side should start before the other. To accomplish this, the animation from both sides is split into 2 halves and the frames in the half which is reached later by the breeze is delayed by pushing the animation frames of that half forward. This results in the effect of both halves being moved at different times by the breeze.
I just want to thank you for all this free tips tutorials and with such clarity about the procedure. THE BEST channel i've come across youtube as a beginner animator who loves anime. Thank you so much.
man am I glad I found your channel just now, it's rare to find tutorials with such high-quality animation specifically for anime. thank you for sharing
I’ve been learning animation for the last month and this is by far the most informative and easy to follow video I’ve come across. *Smashes Subscribe button*
I really appreciate these kind of videos, I know how to draw since little ok digital but never have been able to animate and One of my wishes is to make my own animated series for TH-cam
Great tutorial. It reminds me how crazy good the hair animation in the OP of Heavenly Delusion is. Although it might be rotoscoped or reference used in that one.
really, thank you so much for this tutorial i were looking for something like this for a while and finally i found this video, you help me a LOT, keep doing tutorials pls
I was pretty lazy doing animations. I would basically just copy n paste and make my sketch and drafts messy, and it made me frustrated. Watching this vid made me wanna redo all the ugly animations I did in the past
Great tutorial! Its really a lifesaver i am having an issue and i was wondering if anyone had a similar problem: while doing the seaweed exercice, i feel like i cant keep the length of the seaweed consistent... due to the fact that it is always curved in some way, i find it difficult to estimate how long it is and therefore (especially when its has that s-shape) I draw it too long sometimes
Hi! I’m new to OpenToonz and I was trying this exercise on OT v1.5 but noticed I don’t have the basics room (they removed it) and can’t put my arcs in pencil mode. Is there any way to have the same room set up as yours? Your tutorials are great! Thank you! Edit: I found it and am all good. And no need for basics tab. Eager to learn more from your tutorials! Thanks again!
Thanks for the video bro. Personally, i’m looking for exercises that move me more into “the kanada - school” type of timing and pacing, do you (or anyone else ) got any suggestions for me?? Or where to look for those?? Any advice will be much appreciated
Is animating seamless, repeating clothing rippling a similar process/principle? I am also sure this process only gets harder with more detailed styles or even just longer hair too! If I may also ask, what is the most difficult or complicated hairstyle or type of hairstyle to animate and why? I understand if you would get in trouble if you were too specific, so you don't have to answer if you can't or don't want to. I am just curious.
what is the difference between tiedown and clean up process? btw when do you put a, b and c? is that every movement on the part of the character Sorry for the wrong grammar
Hello! Thank tou si much for the video! But I have a question, i might have missed this information but how many frames/seconds are working on? If anyone knows it would be very helpful! :) 😇

Lol. It does feel like that sometimes. Have fun on your journey.
Man welcome to this world. Hope you'll have that fun which people call boring.
Glad I'm not the only facing a 90° incline of difficulties when learning animation.

wait so when you draw hair. you measure where the hair strands/details starts/ends with proportions right?
Hi, I like How is Clip Studio Paint. Is How is Clip Studio Paint as good as Open toonz in animation? is it mature enough in the animation field?
