I’m have only camped once many years ago in New Hampshire in a small pop up tent,, it rained and the black flys were horrible. That’s wonderful you got to spend a great day birding with your friend. This is very good information. I bought a 2004 Honda Pilot which I need to get ready for car camping. I will also be driving from Texas to Alaska next summer and will be camping the whole way in my Honda Pilot

Yes, that is a great idea. Reversing the reflectix, shiny silver side out deflects heat away. And, it's easy to do since the windows are identical, right window cover goes on the left window. The setup is perfect for photography and film ing on location. I've since updated the setup and am in the process of yet another solo version. This simple setup is perfect to start with.

We enjoyed seeing your set up Jody. It's so well thought out and looks comfortable! We watch another channel too where the woman has a minivan and she has it all so well thought out too. Over the years we've had many minivans, (show's our age) the last few with the seats that fold down into the floor. I've thought about Kathy and I sleeping in them but it involved only a couple sleeping bags on an air mattress. We never did but would have been so much less prepared than you!

Thank you! It works well for a single sleeper (as long as you're not tall). Otherwise, with the seats all folded down and sleeping length-wise works really great! We've recently upgraded to tri-folding mattresses - which makes for a super comfortable rest! Have a wonderful day!

All the practice served helpful once it was needed as more of a necessity rather than just for fun, so that was also very nice. I like the potty too! I own a 2013 4wd pilot, and I love it. Been wanting to set it up for camping and light overlanding. The only downside is it doesn't have 4 low so it's not really good at offroading in general. I've also had the AT (automatic transmission) temperature light come on a few times when offroad. Otherwise it's a great vehicle! Can get you farther than a typical car. Also, it's technically a crossover not an SUV. Lol.

Really unique set up - depends on how tall one is to sleep across ways. Using the third row seat is great - it seems you’ve got more space!

I own a 2013 4wd pilot, and I love it. Been wanting to set it up for camping and light overlanding. The only downside is it doesn't have 4 low so it's not really good at offroading in general. I've also had the AT (automatic transmission) temperature light come on a few times when offroad. Otherwise it's a great vehicle! Can get you farther than a typical car. Also, it's technically a crossover not an SUV. Lol.
