Samuel, these pieces look amazing! The gray paint and the reddish tone of the stain you mixed really compliment each other. The newly painted hardware gives a nice pop. Thanks for your mini tutorial on the spray gun you use, they are very helpful tips.👍👍👍
I'm one of those people whose first impulse is to say, "No! Don't paint it!" However, these pieces are just beautiful the way that you finished them. And I understand that styles and tastes change, and if painting these older pieces makes them desirable and useable for people who prefer things that aren't so traditional, then they should be painted. I would love to have pieces like these that you painted in my home.
What I really enjoy about your videos, is that you are very knowledgeable and share your tips and experiences. I am a very amateur painter of small furniture I find on the footpath. I admire your skills enormously!
I like the new spray gun. Thanks for going over the set up. I wouldn't have known to clean it with acetone. Great choice on colors it turned out wonderful.
I love it. I'm not gonna hate on you for painting wood, sometimes natural wood grain looks best and contrasts so much better when the background surface is painted. I think you did this piece justice, and I would be happy to have this in my home.
Brilliant job. There are som many mahogany pieces that are properly dated by their colour alone, and none of your work has destroyed the furniture, it is all reversable for the next artisan when times and fashion changes again. Very nice indeed:)
I think you chose an excellent color combination. I think that because of the style of dressers just stripping them and keeping all wood could have made them look to monochromatic. I love this result ❤
I'm normally anti-painting, but I kind of like these. I wish there was more wood showing on the little nightstand but I'm not sure how you could accomplish that and the piece look right.
Yoooo Sam!!! Here we go!!! Firstly they came out great!! Secondly here's the numbers (I can't help myself) at 12 hrs. you avg. $79.16/hr. which would be a full-time yearly salary of $164,666K!! Boom Shacka Lacka!! Hoping all is well Bud, Dirty Jersey out!!
Money mike, living the energy. Thank you for breaking down the numbers on a yearly base. It blows me away to think that could be my income if I can sustain it full time
This set turned out really great. I love the grey color. I wasn’t sure how I was going to feel about the reddish tint. But seeing it all together it turned out amazing. You said you were using 220 to do those drawers. Wow. That stuff came off so easy. What sander is that? Is it the ETS 125?
That set was in such good shape. You know the designers are saying gray is out and pink is in, I am saying, “yeah, right!” I love gray and these look awesome. I noticed your air compressor is $400+. I am going to look for a less expensive one that is compatible, since I am not planning on doing the amount of work that you are doing. Just my stuff for me and my family. Does this sprayer work for heavier latex, for walls?
Thank you so much for the compliment and understanding. My compressor is more expensive because it’s an ultra quiet version because I live in an apartment complex and don’t want to bother the neighbors
First let me say that I love your videos. Very informative. Really love the stain / paint combo pieces of furniture. Just have a quick question for you. Where do you purchase the INSL-X in a color other than white? Home Depot offers it, but the paint person said that they don't color change that brand, so white is all you get. Thanks
I hear you say that BM Cabinet coat does not occupy a top layer. But if I wanted to, could I put it on a water base or would there be any inconvenience to it? Thanks and greetings from Mexico!
@@CedarPineDesigns Thank you so much! And congratulations on your channel, I like it a lot. Today for the first time I'm going to paint with a hvlp gun, let's see how it goes, I'm a novice and I'm starting to fix my furniture, DIY.
@@FernandoGuzman-qy1qn thank you. That’s so awesome. Remover to dilute with water just a bit and go light. I always made the mistake of spraying to heavy and getting runs. Good luck with your project. Feel free to reach out at anytime. I’m also on instagram
One question: My compressor only has 5.5 SCFM flow at 40 PSI and the Dynastus 2.5mm gun you use specifies 5-10 SCFM. Do you think it works well with my compressor?
If people complain to you about the finish you use ie paint/stain that is truly only their opinion and they should state that. They can do what they want on any furniture they do themselves. Probably don’t do any as they more likely armchair soldiers! I like most things done and if I don’t then I keep quite.
@@CedarPineDesigns You don't improve with all comments of "beautiful, gorgeous, etc." I finally learned this in in school studying architecture. Critiques were brutal. And often very constructive.

You certainly have a wonderful sense of color, of knowing what works together. I, too, would love to have these pieces in my home.

I agree. 90% of the time I would go solid wood but I aint hating it. I like the 2 tone better than a solid paint.. Very nice

Absolutely. Cabinet coat is water based so you can do too coats as well. Not sure on oil based but I’m sure it would be fine
