If you’re going pull it apart, why not re-paste the cpu? Thermal performance would definitely benefit from it with it being a few years old. I just purchased one of 2018 models for a decent deal and waiting on it to arrive. I’ll also be upgrading it too when it arrives
That’s right I actually thought about it but I didn’t have any thermal paste at the moment it would definitely give a boost to the performance thanks for noticing
@@TechRehab-TRB now you have to do it all over again, because you should't mix different sizes, why did you not just put two 8gb sticks in, or even two 32gb.
@@TechRehab-TRByes you can use assymetric memory configuration but it cost you some memory speed degredation. For the best memory speed both channel must have ram modules matched in speed AND size. Also saying you make a “beast” with this ram upgrade… really? 12 gig assymetric ram configuration and i5.. This system is just as far from being a beast as before the ram upgrade.
@@MaverickM1 You are right about the ram but trust me compared to similar priced macs it is a great machine and yea it’s still more room to update so I guess it’s not still a complete “beast”
You skipped over a major step between removing the fan and pushing out the board. There are two cables connected to the end of the board; one from the power supply and another from somewhere else (not sure what it's for) that need to be disconnected. If you just go in there and push out the board you can easily break one or both of those connectors/cables. Of course they also need to be re-connected when you put the board back in and before you re-install the fan. You also didn't show that you kept one of the 4GB RAM modules in place when actually putting it back together - the way you edited the video it looks like you took out the two 4's and stuck in one 8 for no net gain.
Hello thanks for the comment ! The video wasn’t like a tutorial video I just showed the process , you are right tho I didn’t say that I installed the 4GB one back but in the video you can see me installing it. I will try to make the videos more detailed from now on!❤
stopstopstop. Wait. So, Mac lovers spent years buying the hype on artificially bottlenecked computers, only then to realise years later that they should have had 16gb ram all along?
Hey , Firstly who told you a I am a Mac lover I just bought it because of the price and some office work secondly I it upgrades up to 64gigs and if you sit and check you will find out that for the price this (bottlenecked) pc it’s pretty powerful and also what’s the problem on doing ram upgrades on your pc why does it sound so weird to you??
Hey , some people maybe want to see how much time the update gonna take and how many storage it takes , in case you don’t wanna know it’s 20 seconds you can easily just skip them!👍

Explanation: he just opens it and cleans some dust then he just proceeds to upgrade its ram.
Upgrade from 2 x 4 GB RAM = 8 GB RAM to a single 8GB stick???
What is the point?
Hey! I changed only one 4gb ram stick into an 8gb check the video it literally says 12gb ram when I open it!

@@PathfindersdomainNo you can use different size ram sticks on Mac they just have to be the same speed and I used same speed sticks (2666mhz)

You should change it to i7
I am not sure if it’s possible,Isn’t the processor soldered to the board?
@@TechRehab-TRB Maybe but I seen other Mac’s are easy to take off a processor.
@@SomeBLADELaserNot possible without micro soldering, and not cost effective unless you’ve a friend who can do it or perform the upgrade yourself

You know you can upgrade It to 64gig ram it will cost around 130 UK pounds which is brilliant I say!
@@NINJATH3ORY Yea you don’t have to if someone actually needs the 64gb is just free to do it
You could install Linux on it….
Enjoy the time lapse why bro you think we have too much time to waste just cut the crap out 🙃
