I always liked the Jedi suit over the Empire suit. It's just more colorful and exciting. He's got bitchin' red gauntlets and a jet pack that looks like it was colored by an 8 year old's imagination. Empire always seemed so dull and boring. Plus, the blaster looks waaay meaner on the Jedi version. And honestly, as a kid I never noticed his suits were different until 2004 because most of his toys and merch were colored with the Jedi colors. So I am forever conditioned to love the Jedi design and poo-poo over all the dull green ESB stuff with that wimpy blaster, even if he has two.
I grew up with the Power of the Force " 'Roided Out " Boba Fett, and I agree with you wholeheartedly. The red gauntlets and multicolored jetpacks were the coolest part. So much so, they were my favorite parts of him to look at.
This "sucker" is getting his ROTJ version anytime soon to go with his ESB version. Waiting on you SH Figuarts: you have a sucker ready to throw his money at you waiting for your Boba figures. Never has being so been weak for unnecessary stuff been so fun! :) Gr8 comparison as always!
Toy Galaxy Got mine today! You were right about the hoses, they are a pain. Also, slightly disappointed with the lack of paint on the EE-3 blaster, which is one of the few areas I prefer the ROTJ version, and something that the promo and box pics showed otherwise, and rather beautifully. Still a top notch figure. But the ESB shades it.

I usually prefer more vibrant colors, but I think the softer/muted look of the Empire Boba looks a little cleaner and nicer. The particular combination of military green, wine red, and honey gold on RotJ Boba just looks kind of gaudy and ugly to me. I do like the red gauntlets though. Breaks up the monotony a little.
just got my ROTJ Fett yesterday. i gotta say, theres something off about his colors. its a bit too dark. i think hes green should be bit lighter and his jumpsuit shouldve been more white, his orange armor segments are a little too nacho cheese orange for my taste(the armor pads, not nachos, i love nachos). i dont know, just nitpicking, great figure overall.
Oh no, you're totally right, the colors are off. The vest that holds the armor on is the wrong color on both figures and their gloves aren't right either. That said... still awesome.

Yes! Good ol' Bobo Feet is such an absurdly goofy and unbadass name lol. Glad someone else out there other than me and my friend concur. I can't count how many times ppl have said "Bobo" to me. Same with "Dewback". Every time I'd say that, my friend would say: When's it due back?
I love my ESB Boba Fett and am considering getting the ROTJ version, however those arm hoses are a little concerning when trying to get that two handed weapon gun holding pose.

It took me a while to really lock in that there even WERE two suits. It only started to click for me like 5 or 6 years ago and even then I would have to pull up pictures of both to see what the differences really were.
I got my ROTJ Boba pre-ordered days after it was announced, when I finally got it, I was so excited. Then, as soon as I pulled him out of the box his whole right arm popped off because of bass glue. I moved his right leg up, his tan colored pouch popped off, bad glue. I had him in a flying pose for days where he was fine, all of a sudden, he takes a shelf dive and the tip of his missile snaps off. I was so disappointed. My RAH 1/6 ROTJ Boba was amazing in all regards, besides the bad glue keeping the cape in place and a very loose trigger finger hand. But I can tuck the cape underneath his armor just fine without the glue, so I guess I have the option to display him without it if I choose. Hard to believe such a well made and such a poorly made figure was made by the same company. Almost everyone's review of the Mafex Boba got me even more excited, it looked so great. Then my hopes were crushed.
I can totally understand this comment. It feels fragile and I consider myself lucky that nothing other than the holster popping off (bad glue) of my ESB has happened. But I expect it to only be a matter of time. I will be shocked if I can keep those range finders from breaking off.
boba survived the sarlaac pit and went on. in Star wars battlefront he says "never again" when hovering over the Sarlaac pit indicating that he won't make that mistake again. also his rotj suit is more current and you can use it for a multitude of things (more acba options) while the esb fett is primarily used for esb events and such (less acba options). but they are both amazing figures.
CrapesVHS actually in one of the star wars novels that recently came out it said that people entering a Jawa sandcrawler on tantooine came across a set of mandalorian armor that seemed to be damaged with some sort of acid (sarlaac stomach acids). I really do not think this is just random mandalorian armor that just happened to have acid damages like the acid damage you would experience when trying to be consumed and digested by the sarlaac pit. but I guess you are right you never know and boba living through the sarlaac isn't necessarily confirmed yet.
Use pledge floor care or nail polish. Add a drip, move the range finder back and forth for 20 seconds to work in the liquid, leave for 24hrs. When you come back it should be nice and tight but still moveable.
It's not for me. I don't care for the style. I don't care for the price. I don't care for the size. Mostly it's the style. It's a cool looking figure but to me, it's not Fett.

at first I was going to get the Boba Fett model kit but now I HAVE to get the mafex one, and by the way about that "custom" Punisher I told you a long time ago I was going to do, I finished it. At first I was wanted to paint him and make him look like he was wearing a t-shirt but the only paint I have is acrylic and it is not a good choice for someone new to this like me so I just went the same route you did which was essentially add to the figure to make it look better than it already did like adding the sidearm and a new belt, unfortunately I don't have the marvel legends punisher with the better head sculpt
You're looking at the ultimate. If you follow the videos, the first matchup (before we called it "VS") was Revoltech and Black Series. Black Series came out on top. Then we did a VS between Black Series (the champ) and Bandai Model Kit. Black Series won again. Then we did Black Series (the champ) VS Mafex ESB. Mafex won.
I prefer ROTJ usually, but why is the Mafex and Figuarts flight suits WAY off colour on the ROTJ? Black series looks way better with the lighter grey flight suit.
Boba's "No disintegrations" disintegration pistol is the additional weapon. The ammo pouches are wrong on the ESB version should be 4 each side with a gap in the middle and the hands look wrong on the ROTJ version. As for who did what, basically in ESB Fett tracked the Falcon and everything else was down to the Empire. In ROTJ at least he tried to do something. He also gets the worst shot in the whole of Star Wars award for the wrist laser miss just before Solo hits him, it's an aimed shot and misses Luke by at least 10-15 feet from a very short distance away.
If you're going by the images in this video it's because I turned the braids around on my ESB and didn't on my ROTJ. Braid piece is the exact same piece.
And then there's the full-size Boba costumes and the 501st guys that wear them. You should see the crazy detail that goes into those! Your ESB paint chipping better not be mixed up with RotJ bits!!! Me, I stick to Rebel pilots. :) Great stuff as usual Dan!
I have the old Toybiz one. Haven't seen the new one on the shelves in my area yet. I grabbed Hobgoblin and he's pretty good. I'm guessing since it's the same body GG will be just as good.

I have Boba fett inbox mint since he came out in the on the second black series wave I have the the prototype but he blends to much with the storm troopers So I found a loose Boba on eBay for $25 I HAD to get through original outfit Boba fett look s way better in THE set up I have so my favorite first black series figure Boba fett we still remain in his original package.
I've just picked up the ESB Bobba fett and was disappointed in the figure tbh! - the right shoulder pad came off as soon I articulated the arm upwards, which pissed me off and I now have to glue it back on. He doesn't hold his blaster very well and don't get me started on his hands just popping off every fricken second due to lose fittings in the ball pegs! The stand is pretty much useless too as it doesn't work due to the weight of the figure and I'm not even sure you can tighten the screws up in order to pose him in more dramatic ways. Overall I'm hugely disappointed as everyone recommended him as the best Bobba fett, which is sooooo sad if this is the best we've got right now...come On SH Figuarts give us a dope Bobba fett please!!!!
Forgot about that book. That's why I tend to stick to what's in the films. It gets too muddy when the peripheral stuff is included. Like, yeah, all the visual encyclopedias and stuff are supposed to be canon as well, but if it conflicts with something they want to do in Ep 8 they'll kick it to the curb. Maybe the Han Solo solo film or Ep 8 will shed some light.

Toy Galaxy I don't like THE Return of the Jedi Boba fett is not film accurate AND THE rifle I wud go with the Empire strikes back if I bought one .I agree at THE end this ones if just to GET money out of collector s not cool.
They had to do the best with what they had. It was still centered around the prequels, so they couldn't ignore the blandness of the Jedi, the robo-trash that was Grievous and the droid army, the Clones, and the politics. But they did an effective job at humanizing the clones, there was some decent comedy from the droids(in my opinion, I know it's not for other people), the political episodes had some excitement in them, but they are easily skippable, and Jar Jar was at least kept to a minimum. Not to mention Skywalker and Kenobi were fun, cool, and realistic characters that have the relationship Ben would reminess about in his old age. Boba has some cool episodes, plus some new bounty hunters for fans to gush over. Yoda mostly is kept in a more original trilogy role, with the exception of some episodes. Some Jedi were even given personalities, like Kit Fisto. Dooku's about the same though.
Makes sense, same often goes for Rebels. Perhaps the magic of the O.T can't be captured now, they were done so well that now the best we can do is something cool, but not spectacular. They're good shows and movies(two of them), but they're not the Originals.

I like the discoloration pattern of the empire helmet and that the jetpack doesnt look like it was colored by a 5 year old.

My ROTJ Boba Fett came with a loose range finder. Any idea on how to fix it?

Boba Fett had at least 3 pairs of armor in cannon so in the year between esb and Rotj he probably switched it to the one we see in rotj

So I found a loose Boba on eBay for $25 I HAD to get through original outfit Boba fett look s way better in THE set up I have so my favorite first black series figure Boba fett we still remain in his original package.

I've just picked up the ESB Bobba fett and was disappointed in the figure tbh! - the right shoulder pad came off as soon I articulated the arm upwards, which pissed me off and I now have to glue it back on. He doesn't hold his blaster very well and don't get me started on his hands just popping off every fricken second due to lose fittings in the ball pegs! The stand is pretty much useless too as it doesn't work due to the weight of the figure and I'm not even sure you can tighten the screws up in order to pose him in more dramatic ways. Overall I'm hugely disappointed as everyone recommended him as the best Bobba fett, which is sooooo sad if this is the best we've got right now...come On SH Figuarts give us a dope Bobba fett please!!!!

The novel Aftermath is canon, as the events in the novel take place after the destruction of the Death Star II.
Forgot about that book. That's why I tend to stick to what's in the films. It gets too muddy when the peripheral stuff is included. Like, yeah, all the visual encyclopedias and stuff are supposed to be canon as well, but if it conflicts with something they want to do in Ep 8 they'll kick it to the curb. Maybe the Han Solo solo film or Ep 8 will shed some light.

Movie sucks, a lot, but it's still canon. Helped spawn a great show though.
They had to do the best with what they had. It was still centered around the prequels, so they couldn't ignore the blandness of the Jedi, the robo-trash that was Grievous and the droid army, the Clones, and the politics. But they did an effective job at humanizing the clones, there was some decent comedy from the droids(in my opinion, I know it's not for other people), the political episodes had some excitement in them, but they are easily skippable, and Jar Jar was at least kept to a minimum. Not to mention Skywalker and Kenobi were fun, cool, and realistic characters that have the relationship Ben would reminess about in his old age. Boba has some cool episodes, plus some new bounty hunters for fans to gush over. Yoda mostly is kept in a more original trilogy role, with the exception of some episodes. Some Jedi were even given personalities, like Kit Fisto. Dooku's about the same though.
Makes sense, same often goes for Rebels. Perhaps the magic of the O.T can't be captured now, they were done so well that now the best we can do is something cool, but not spectacular. They're good shows and movies(two of them), but they're not the Originals.
Very true. And Rouge One didn't need too. TFA did this to draw people back into the universe, and they did so beautifully.
