hello everyone thanks for watching here's a playlist of all my 007 stuff innit th-cam.com/play/PL643B5filmfGI4CQlvagcuXQXDa7u0Lms.html edit: I initially called this vid "The 007 game after GoldenEye" which it technically isn't so I changed it (which might be why ur seeing some comments about it). I did address the GameBoy game in the vid but I should go for clarity first - TND did follow-up GoldenEye in some sense, but yeah it wasn't THE Bond game after GoldenEye. Pls forgiv. Cheers
Genuinely love the way you take something that most people write off and give it the respect and care it otherwise wouldn't get and respect the ridiculous amount of work that goes into making something like it.
Fun fact! Chad Stahelski and David Leitch both did motioncapture stuntwork for this game. They would go on to direct the first John Wick film together.
Minimme.. I love you , dude. Never stop what you are doing. When I was 14, for Christmas, my grandmother bought me the N64 w Goldeneye...she bought my cousins the PS1 with T.N.D. Goldeneye was obviously amazing and changed FPS gaming forever after, but my cousins were always playing THIS game. It always looked so much more vibrant, colorful and action packed. I wanted it so bad but since I was TEAM 64 hardcore, I never said it aloud. I now have this game on my 3DSXL and it's a cherished part of my 007 GAMES collection. Say what you will about how bad the controls are... this is all being said by a guy going for the world record of OO7NIGHTFIRE for the G.B.A. Thanks so much for the upload. Bravo. Edit: if you ever do a GBA NIGHTFIRE VIDEO ...and need some inside info. Trust me I've got it. This video is 46 minutes long...and I've loved every second of it.
@@Di7manya To my knowledge, he put a lof things about internet historian based off conjecture and misdirections. Hbomberguy also said he doesn't associate with anyone not of his political views, which is most people, so I think it was a clear hit piece
I had the game as a kid and played the first level so many times. Unfortunately, not really any more. Because at the point you mention, where you have to blow up the box, that was the end for me. My 9-year-old self didn't understand that and that's why I played the first level over and over again. As a child, that doesn't bother you.
I remember using noclip on the first level and at one point his parachute just got triggered with him standing in the middle of a field and the dramatic music playing; was one of the funniest gaming moments of my childhood
As a PlayStation kid, I adored tomorrow, never dies, and the world is not enough. I just re-bought them from a local game shop a few months ago to relive the glory days. Truly awful video games but it was a nice nostalgia trip
I spent a long time without watching your videos, even though i really enjoy them. So last week i watched all the stuffed i missed and then went on a bingewatch and watched every single video on your channel...I finished yesterday, and so i felt kinda bummed out because ''that was it'' and now i'd have to wait for a new one... I just got home from work and i see you uploaded and it made me so happy! Thank you!
I genuinely think 007 is one of the greatest gaming franchises of all time, Goldeneye, Nightfire, QoS, Everything or Nothing, From Russia with love are all gems
Somehow I never liked or understood the hype around EON and FRWL, those games just always felt weird and janky to me. Nightfire, especially the first half was probably the best and perfect example of 007 game in my opinion.
Glad you mentioned the gorgeous vertex lighting/painting, it's one of the best things we lost with the move to dynamic and per pixel lighting, though I adore what raytracing can do from a sheer simulation point of view and all of the niceties it brings with it, I truly miss the lighting-impossibilities devs would paint onto their worlds before lighting a full scene was possible, it really lead to some gorgeous, properly artful games.
Not to mention these drawn textures are done at incredibly low resolution. It's very impressive to make a "realistic" game with so few pixels to work with. Even the low res cartoony look is it's own beloved aesthetic of that era.
@@cattysplat Indeed, luckily the artists of the era had just come from a generation of consoles with similar art resolutions so I imagine the talent translated over very well!
Fans of HK films will know that General Chang is played by Philip Kwok. He is most well-known in the west as “The Lizard” from The Five Venoms (Five Deadly Venoms) and even features in Hard-Boiled as the villain.
I don’t know why you say that. It’s an interesting bit of info. We’re all here because we’re interested in things that “no one” cares about. How ironic you comment that under a video about a freaking low budget D tier licensed PS1 game.
Your videos are like comfort food for me! Feels like I’m home without being home. Like a lost friend that you catch up with and feel nostalgic. Thank you for being you!
I just got this bad boi in a triple pack bundle with the original Medal of Honor and 007 Racing. Pretty hype, it completed my Bond video game set AFAIK, I was missing these two PS1 games. Nevermind, I need a copy of 007 World is Not Enough.
Your 007 videos are some of my favorite videos on the subjects. This video continues this trend of you doing great work while reviewing these games. I can't wait to see more 007 videos from you.
Dude your videos are the greatest. I’ve been a subscriber for a good few years now and every video never disappoints. You are so thorough in your research, got to chat with the director of the game, and you include all links and references in your videos. You are top quality, thanks for all the videos!!!
Agile warrior has a great soundtrack, and I really liked the game too. Always wanted to play treasures of the deep but it was hard to find. This was a great video, really cool to get the story behind it all.
I miss these games so much . I don’t always want to jump into a 120 hour epic journey. Sometimes I just want to pretend I’m James Bond or blade or something. Bring these games back
Keep in mind the ps1 didnt have a per pixel depth buffer, so drawing had to be done back to front, and geometry had to be carefully sorted to be back to front, or objects in the distance would be drawn over objects close to the camera. All ps1 games levels had to be designed in a way that minimised background geometry being drawn over solid foreground geometry. The amount of columns, coridoors, twists and turns and walls in the indoor sections means sorting is a lot more complex. To help the issue, you can just sort and draw the small part of the level your in, and forget about the rest of it. That's why there's fog in the indoor sections, to cover up the void of empty space.
In this game, Wai Lin is voiced by British voice actress Larissa Murray (Alita: Battle Angel OVA). Miles Anderson would return as Q again in 007 Racing (non-canon) and R in 007: Agent Under Fire after EA Games was denied to use John Cleese's likeness. The would-be Judi Dench did not return in 007: The World is Not Enough.
Amazing video and i love interview parts. The thing that saves this game and makes it worthwhile for those who can stomach older games is the charm and the clear attempt to make the best with what they got
Great video! I played this game so much as a kid back in the day and you rarely see it get any coverage. Would love to see the other Bond games from the era on this channel too!
i accidentally didnt sub to this channel using my page account and forgot about you for a few months there. So happy to have this channel subbed now again, and HELL YEAH this game doesnt get talked about enough, it’s such a bizarre slice of bond gaming history.
Fun fact about "stealth kills" in this game - the animation of Bond and Wai Lin is different and resembles the way they put down guards in one of the movie scenes
One of your best videos yet mate, this was an absolute banger. Loved the deep dive and interview format. Fantastic stuff man, thank you for all you do.
I remember playing the heck out of this when I was a kid but I forgot about it over the years and came across videos on it a few years ago but the nostalgia did not hit me. I just remember thinking “god I could have sworn it didn’t look and play this bad”. There’s been plenty of games over the years that I’ve reacquired over the years, Toy Story 2, Rugrats search for reptar, Driver 2 so on and so on, however Tomorrow Never Dies will not be one of them.
I played this A LOT as a kid, it was definitely my golden eye with the amount of times I replayed it. Tried to replay it last year and was definitely frustrated with the controls lol. I do not remember ever doing a stealth kill.
When I was a kid I remember beating it. But now you reminded me about all those places where I was stuck for an hour. Most of the time I even had no idea what I did right that the game let me continue. I also remember being impressed by reflections on the car.
This video has triggered my long-buried PTSD from that mission as Wai Lin on the streets of Saigon. From that mission alone, I can absolutely understand why American Vietnam veterans are so scarred by their experiences there.
I had this game as a kid at age 6 or 7. Loved the movies and I had never played GoldenEye on N64 so I was happy with it. I didn't own a memory card so I just replayed the first couple of levels over and over. Nice to see the music and ambiance isn't lost to time. The cool parts of this game are still cool. Had no idea its development was so troubled. Would love to see you cover the later EA Bond games that came afterwards.

What I remember most about this game is the awesome soundtrack, the high difficulty, and smacking into trees while skiing.
