I made a post on a Zajef Daily video saying that gatekeeping the character trials behind level 90 was a hard sell due to the resources necessary to even get to that point. People then argued saying that this is an “incentive to build and level up your characters” and that it was a reward for the players that invested in those characters. What if I just want to try out the character trials? I don’t really care for the cosmetics; I just want to experience the creativity the HYV devs have with character-specific puzzles!

They simply want to get rid of all dissatisfied GI players, and move them into their other products for a second round of sifting. So they are intentionally making GI to look bad in comparisson to HSR/ZZZ.
Btw, Kuro is still giving away the 5*. The leaks shows he doesn't look shitty and have as much effort in effects and skills as the last 2 limited characters(which both of them are two of the best designed characters in the game atm).

I discussed with some friends about the end game of GI, the imaginary theatre feels like a endgame with their only focus is sqeeze of resources the players, investing in useless characters, theres not replay content, just random content quite similar with a combat event. Now they are doing the same, a gameplay only focused in invest in useless character with no real fun, both gameplay are for economics measures not for player enjoyment.

Exactly. WuWa on release got 2 refreshable end-game (Tower and Depths) and a non-refreshable one (holo boss fights) on release. PGR is even more insane with PPC, Warzone, Norman War as weeklies. Then the insane end-game content like 2 rogue-likes, golden vortex, Stronghold, Border Pact. Then add the malding end-game events like Tower of Babel. Reverse 1999 also has a plethora of content, some permanent and some through events. Add the fact that PGR and R1999, virtually removed the RNG in character progression and puts the fun on actual fights is just insane for a gacha. There are leaks where WuWa would allow a selectable/changeable substat for echo but I'm not sure. Genshin devs aren't incompetent, they made fun events like that Childe and Xinyan event. They just don't care, it's almost like they're doing this intentionally to spite the players. With that being said, it's too late for Genshin at least for me. The fact that they released Imaginarium just because there is now a competition with WuWa is such a sh1tty company decision.

You can't brute force swarm disaster with just buffs, gold and gears while can be brute force by buffs still requires proper planning and good rng to get the prerequisites for a certain strategy. You still need to build your characters to not be squishy enough to get one shot.

Well the whole point of endgame content is that it's meant for the endgame players. Endgame players have level 90 characters and high friendship level on the characters they use. It's supposed to be gatekept from non-endgame players, that's the whole point.
@@Melotaku It is different to have hard-lock or sof-lock. Abyss is not locked to endgame players, but it is an end game mode. And no not every endgame player have 80% unit over level 70, this doesn'T work this way, because most player, especially F2P player focus on max 3-4 team and thet's it. Most endgame player want to max out units, not leveling up every one of them. And the worst part this is not an endgame mode anyway, it is laughtable easy when you got over the hard-lock part. Abyss much better and more rewarding as an endgame mode and it is really sad, because it is the same for over 4 year.

Tell me whats the point in making a game mode that outright hard locks people out, not for the lack of playing but for the lack of luck or simply because I want to reserve resources for characters that I actually want to play. Imaginarium is bad enough ( I can only do Normal, cos I only have 12 built units), this one is just pouring and rubbing in salt and ghost peppers into a gaping bleeding wound.
@@anon41031 What none of you seem to understand is that this isn’t a endgame MODE. This is a small little challenge that lets you show your dedication to your most favorite characters. You’re not supposed to be able to unlock all of these. Also they will be adding more characters to this each update, so eventually every character is included. But you’d still only be able to unlock one every 2 months. It’s completely fine to not take part in this challenge in the first cycle. Heck, I’m probably not going to either because I don’t want to waste my keys on these specific characters. I’m sure more limited 5 stars and more popular characters will be added soon. These 5 are just who they decided to start out with. I’m sure once Furina is added, everyone will hop on this challenge right away. No one will complain either because everyone already has her at lvl 90 and friendship 8. And for the record I am also a F2P AR60 who has been playing for a bit over 2 years. I am able to do hard mode on IT because I’ve invested somewhat horizontal. IT is meant to test your account in a way that Spiral Abyss doesn’t. Spiral Abyss tests your vertical investment while IT tests your horizontal investment. If you want to be able to clear IT, you have to change up your play style. This is an endgame mode after all, you’re not supposed to be able to clear it with ease.
I question if the devs are just completely incompetent or are actively trying to drive away everyone who wanted endgame modes and difficult content. I could believe either, at this point.

It baffles me how Star Rail can nail getting me to come back to endgame content by just smashing some rogue-lite mechanics into the game. But Genshin, a game with some of the most fun combat mechanics I’ve ever played cannot give me a good reason to keep coming back for it. The fumbles from this team are legendary.
The cherry on top is that imaginarium theater forces you to spread out your resources, but this new endgame crap wants you to invest a ton into just one character.
I literally don't understand why they didn't just copy Simulated Universe from star rail. why have it reset every MONTH?? what?? wouldn't it be smarter to, again, like SU, have the rewards reset weekly. you could argue that 220 gems is not a lot, sure, but imo even this kinda reward every week is not too shabby. not to mention all the combat events that happen too. I think that the idea of getting some extra cosmetic bling bling for your favorite character that you have invested a lot into by compleating a challenge made for them is a fine idea. And limiting it so you can only get one cosmetic every two months makes you really chose only your true favorites to give that little extra. They just marketed it wrong as new gamemode and right after the disapointment that is the theater and the promises after. If this came before the theater and marketed as a way to give your true favorites that little extra, I think people would be a lot less mad about it. Also statring with Ninguang and Chichi on the first wave of characters to get the cosmetics is a choice of all time.
Sorry, but this isn't a response to the theater stuff. This was leaked months ago. Also if you watch the Livestream they don't claim it to be super difficult. It's just puzzles around the characters abilities
Genshin had events concepts hinting at a potential "endgame" content with bosses using extra and unseen attack patterns that made it way more challenging. They also where co-op from 2 to 4 players, and ofc doable solo if you don't enjoy multiplayer... You could select difficulty from easy to super hard, and in addition you could select massive de-buffs to your characters to make it even harder. Bonus, you could disable timer all together and use lvl1 character if it pleased you. Those events where: Hypostatic Symphony 2021/01/16, Energy Amplifier 2021/04/30, Legend of the Vagabond Sword 2021/06/25 Now imagine if they re-used those events, took the bosses and put them in a explorable dungeon like in WuWa's Depths of Illusive Realm, with small battles beforehand where you could pick buffs that actually matter. Let you play any of your character and let you play co-op with friends... But no, instead we get freaking restrictive circle fights, with the same boring enemies, with no repeatability. Genshin could never. PS: as a Qiqi main, I'm glad she get some attention with a small cosmetic but where is the character story quest... It's been 4 freaking years! :< EDIT: my replies are getting shadow banned for some reason... I edited then "endgame" statement as a concept to be more accurate.

Man Hoyo should've kept the primos between abyss and theater separate. They could've made it where the primo rewards cycle as per usual but the other rewards (mora, exp, artifact boxes, etc.) cycle weekly. This would keep players who WANT to play some of these modes more engaged but now we are instead pushed away. Makes no sense to me because if they wanted you to spend less time on these modes you'd expect it to be diverted to another part of the game BUT THERE IS NOTHING ELSE! What do they want us to use this new found time to play their other titles? NO THANKS! All you've done is disappoint me with 1 game, why should I grant you the opportunity to do it with another?!
I'll get only Nings, just for a fun. I'm a geo main, and Ning was my main for 80% of my early and mid gaming experience. But to be honest the theater and this endgame mode is really bad. I also have a challenge account, where i play only catalysts and i can't even attempt this new endgame mode without leveling up non-catalyst characters and using them as a ballast because you can't start a challenge without full party of four. I'm still debating whether i should do it or not. Soluna did with his polearms characters, but electro/pyro/anemo catalyst characters even with investment i did are not that good on their own. And because everything is rng it'll be really heard to pull off, especially monolith section. Eh, i dunno.... It's so annoying.... Why can't i use all of my characters? It's still a limitation to 18, but why not all? Eh....

I think the theater is hard enough, making it harder is dumb simply cuz the difficulty is balance by the amount of characters needed. My main problem with it is not the difficulty hard or easy, it's the garbage restrictions man, some elements don't even have a good DPS so good luck beating anything with shitty supports. The limitations, the unimaginable amount of RNG and the element limitations are so stupid. The new game mode thing with the new cosmetics is even dumber and even more limited, the new mode and the cosmetics feels like we're in the desert dehydrated and MHY comes shows us a cistern of ice cold water and then gives us a drolet that evaporates before we even taste it😂😂😂
That doesn't seem like end game to me. I think the wording is wrong, it reads more as a feature added to let players really show off their favorite characters. I assume that the goal is to eventually give every character their own unique trial. It's kinda like an added bullet point to the "I main this character" check list. And I guess they don't want you to complete every trial, but instead do the ones for the characters you love, which is probably why it doesn't give primos and requires keys to enter?
i friendship lvl 10 90% of my characters because i always place new ones in the teapot and collect the friendship exp. Good thing i was raising kirara to lv90 so i could play her with her new skin in 4.7
How well you understand your characters: Goes in with Kirara in hp shield set (LIKE EVERY PLAYER) and cant kill anything. Then i am forced to steal kuki Em pieces to be able to do it.
i was excited about the new skins (the trails) until i heard about the characters having to be level 90 AND friendship 8. As someone who's AR 50 and likes to take their time levelling characters this almost seems impossible. None of my characters are lvl 90 but i COULD farm for that. But friendship 8??? Seems pretty much impossible in this short amount of time
If you sweat you can get a character to friendship 8 in about 9-10 days or so. Sweating = doing commissions, claiming commission rewards, spending resin and doing the 10 daily ‘random event’ quests in coop.
i literally stopped all my fundings after looked, played, and fullstarred the imaginarium theater. it was dogshit, saw the protests, saw the response and it was dogshit too. at this point i just hate hoyoverse lmao
Holy shit, having this one massive boss you fight sounds like an amazing idea. in 5 sec, you've made me genuinely excited for something that I want to see in any other gacha game. Even better, imagine like 1 big boss that you slowly chip away at throughout a season/ half a season. and you can coop this boss with friends but its essentially a super boss that u literally cannot beat in a single run. this is amazing. it gives the medium lvl players to slowly chip away and get rewards while also incentivising whales and meta to just try and do their best. Also, this is my own opinion but wuwa will not change genshin. its reception was mid and while 1.1 did good, all its led to is well....this. So nah, genshin does not need to change and will not change. it makes a bajillion dollars and it has a cult following.

A small correction about building friendship. If you do your dailies and claim in coop, spend resin in coop and do the 10 ‘random events’ in coop you can get to FS10 in about 2 weeks. Only needing FS8 should cut that down to around 9-10 days or so. If you do 0 coop and don’t do the 10 daily ‘random event’ quests it’ll take about 6 weeks to get to FS10. Hopefully this eases people’s concerns.
Did we really expect the genshin devs to do something great when it comes to ANYTHING related to actual gameplay?! That is our problem. The problem with the Level 90 requirement is that you only do that to crown someone, and none of the characters they have is a major character. Any normal player (not the players' dedicated mains) will crown Archons, Big DPSs, Important supports, and etc. Diluc is old and only good again because Plunge DMG, Ninguang is niche, Jean is good but not a character to walk around with as a 1st cycle, and forget the other 2 (I like Kirara but not that much). I'm gonna have to wait for someone I actually love and have Lv. 90 like Kokomi, Furina, Raiden, and etc. They flopped badly, how hard is it to add that content?

ngl this new mode sounds like it was made with malice. all these ridiculous restrictions feels like it was made to spite the "rude" players who hated on imaginarium theatre that they've worked oh so hard on, so they tripled down with this new endgame.
They simply want to get rid of all dissatisfied GI players, and move them into their other products for a second round of sifting.
So they are intentionally making GI to look bad in comparisson to HSR/ZZZ.

Btw, Kuro is still giving away the 5*. The leaks shows he doesn't look shitty and have as much effort in effects and skills as the last 2 limited characters(which both of them are two of the best designed characters in the game atm).

I discussed with some friends about the end game of GI, the imaginary theatre feels like a endgame with their only focus is sqeeze of resources the players, investing in useless characters, theres not replay content, just random content quite similar with a combat event.
Now they are doing the same, a gameplay only focused in invest in useless character with no real fun, both gameplay are for economics measures not for player enjoyment.

Exactly. WuWa on release got 2 refreshable end-game (Tower and Depths) and a non-refreshable one (holo boss fights) on release. PGR is even more insane with PPC, Warzone, Norman War as weeklies. Then the insane end-game content like 2 rogue-likes, golden vortex, Stronghold, Border Pact. Then add the malding end-game events like Tower of Babel.
Reverse 1999 also has a plethora of content, some permanent and some through events.
Add the fact that PGR and R1999, virtually removed the RNG in character progression and puts the fun on actual fights is just insane for a gacha. There are leaks where WuWa would allow a selectable/changeable substat for echo but I'm not sure.
Genshin devs aren't incompetent, they made fun events like that Childe and Xinyan event. They just don't care, it's almost like they're doing this intentionally to spite the players.
With that being said, it's too late for Genshin at least for me. The fact that they released Imaginarium just because there is now a competition with WuWa is such a sh1tty company decision.
I guess all the budget went to 4.0 - 4.2, and after seeing the success of the archon quests (and characters) they went on vacation and left the most brain dead employee in charge.

You can't brute force swarm disaster with just buffs, gold and gears while can be brute force by buffs still requires proper planning and good rng to get the prerequisites for a certain strategy. You still need to build your characters to not be squishy enough to get one shot.

Well the whole point of endgame content is that it's meant for the endgame players. Endgame players have level 90 characters and high friendship level on the characters they use. It's supposed to be gatekept from non-endgame players, that's the whole point.

And no not every endgame player have 80% unit over level 70, this doesn'T work this way, because most player, especially F2P player focus on max 3-4 team and thet's it. Most endgame player want to max out units, not leveling up every one of them. And the worst part this is not an endgame mode anyway, it is laughtable easy when you got over the hard-lock part. Abyss much better and more rewarding as an endgame mode and it is really sad, because it is the same for over 4 year.

Tell me whats the point in making a game mode that outright hard locks people out, not for the lack of playing but for the lack of luck or simply because I want to reserve resources for characters that I actually want to play. How does that make any sense? Imaginarium is bad enough ( I can only do Normal, cos I only have 12 built units), this one is just pouring and rubbing in salt and ghost peppers into a gaping bleeding wound.
@@anon41031 What none of you seem to understand is that this isn’t a endgame MODE. This is a small little challenge that lets you show your dedication to your most favorite characters. You’re not supposed to be able to unlock all of these. Also they will be adding more characters to this each update, so eventually every character is included. But you’d still only be able to unlock one every 2 months. It’s completely fine to not take part in this challenge in the first cycle. Heck, I’m probably not going to either because I don’t want to waste my keys on these specific characters. I’m sure more limited 5 stars and more popular characters will be added soon. These 5 are just who they decided to start out with. I’m sure once Furina is added, everyone will hop on this challenge right away. No one will complain either because everyone already has her at lvl 90 and friendship 8.
And for the record I am also a F2P AR60 who has been playing for a bit over 2 years. I am able to do hard mode on IT because I’ve invested somewhat horizontal. IT is meant to test your account in a way that Spiral Abyss doesn’t. Spiral Abyss tests your vertical investment while IT tests your horizontal investment. If you want to be able to clear IT, you have to change up your play style. This is an endgame mode after all, you’re not supposed to be able to clear it with ease.

It baffles me how Star Rail can nail getting me to come back to endgame content by just smashing some rogue-lite mechanics into the game. But Genshin, a game with some of the most fun combat mechanics I’ve ever played cannot give me a good reason to keep coming back for it. The fumbles from this team are legendary.
The cherry on top is that imaginarium theater forces you to spread out your resources, but this new endgame crap wants you to invest a ton into just one character.
I literally don't understand why they didn't just copy Simulated Universe from star rail. why have it reset every MONTH?? what?? wouldn't it be smarter to, again, like SU, have the rewards reset weekly. you could argue that 220 gems is not a lot, sure, but imo even this kinda reward every week is not too shabby. not to mention all the combat events that happen too.

I think that the idea of getting some extra cosmetic bling bling for your favorite character that you have invested a lot into by compleating a challenge made for them is a fine idea. And limiting it so you can only get one cosmetic every two months makes you really chose only your true favorites to give that little extra. They just marketed it wrong as new gamemode and right after the disapointment that is the theater and the promises after. If this came before the theater and marketed as a way to give your true favorites that little extra, I think people would be a lot less mad about it. Also statring with Ninguang and Chichi on the first wave of characters to get the cosmetics is a choice of all time.

Genshin had events concepts hinting at a potential "endgame" content with bosses using extra and unseen attack patterns that made it way more challenging. They also where co-op from 2 to 4 players, and ofc doable solo if you don't enjoy multiplayer... You could select difficulty from easy to super hard, and in addition you could select massive de-buffs to your characters to make it even harder. Bonus, you could disable timer all together and use lvl1 character if it pleased you.
Those events where: Hypostatic Symphony 2021/01/16, Energy Amplifier 2021/04/30, Legend of the Vagabond Sword 2021/06/25
Now imagine if they re-used those events, took the bosses and put them in a explorable dungeon like in WuWa's Depths of Illusive Realm, with small battles beforehand where you could pick buffs that actually matter. Let you play any of your character and let you play co-op with friends...
But no, instead we get freaking restrictive circle fights, with the same boring enemies, with no repeatability.

Man Hoyo should've kept the primos between abyss and theater separate.
They could've made it where the primo rewards cycle as per usual but the other rewards (mora, exp, artifact boxes, etc.) cycle weekly. This would keep players who WANT to play some of these modes more engaged but now we are instead pushed away.
Makes no sense to me because if they wanted you to spend less time on these modes you'd expect it to be diverted to another part of the game BUT THERE IS NOTHING ELSE!
What do they want us to use this new found time to play their other titles? NO THANKS! All you've done is disappoint me with 1 game, why should I grant you the opportunity to do it with another?!

I'll get only Nings, just for a fun. I'm a geo main, and Ning was my main for 80% of my early and mid gaming experience. But to be honest the theater and this endgame mode is really bad. I also have a challenge account, where i play only catalysts and i can't even attempt this new endgame mode without leveling up non-catalyst characters and using them as a ballast because you can't start a challenge without full party of four. I'm still debating whether i should do it or not. Soluna did with his polearms characters, but electro/pyro/anemo catalyst characters even with investment i did are not that good on their own. And because everything is rng it'll be really heard to pull off, especially monolith section. Eh, i dunno.... It's so annoying.... Why can't i use all of my characters? It's still a limitation to 18, but why not all? Eh....

I think the theater is hard enough, making it harder is dumb simply cuz the difficulty is balance by the amount of characters needed.
My main problem with it is not the difficulty hard or easy, it's the garbage restrictions man, some elements don't even have a good DPS so good luck beating anything with shitty supports. The limitations, the unimaginable amount of RNG and the element limitations are so stupid.
The new game mode thing with the new cosmetics is even dumber and even more limited, the new mode and the cosmetics feels like we're in the desert dehydrated and MHY comes shows us a cistern of ice cold water and then gives us a drolet that evaporates before we even taste it😂😂😂
That doesn't seem like end game to me. I think the wording is wrong, it reads more as a feature added to let players really show off their favorite characters. I assume that the goal is to eventually give every character their own unique trial. It's kinda like an added bullet point to the "I main this character" check list. And I guess they don't want you to complete every trial, but instead do the ones for the characters you love, which is probably why it doesn't give primos and requires keys to enter?
i friendship lvl 10 90% of my characters because i always place new ones in the teapot and collect the friendship exp. Good thing i was raising kirara to lv90 so i could play her with her new skin in 4.7

How well you understand your characters:
Goes in with Kirara in hp shield set (LIKE EVERY PLAYER) and cant kill anything. Then i am forced to steal kuki Em pieces to be able to do it.
i was excited about the new skins (the trails) until i heard about the characters having to be level 90 AND friendship 8. As someone who's AR 50 and likes to take their time levelling characters this almost seems impossible. None of my characters are lvl 90 but i COULD farm for that. But friendship 8??? Seems pretty much impossible in this short amount of time
If you sweat you can get a character to friendship 8 in about 9-10 days or so.
Sweating = doing commissions, claiming commission rewards, spending resin and doing the 10 daily ‘random event’ quests in coop.
i literally stopped all my fundings after looked, played, and fullstarred the imaginarium theater. it was dogshit, saw the protests, saw the response and it was dogshit too. at this point i just hate hoyoverse lmao
Holy shit, having this one massive boss you fight sounds like an amazing idea. in 5 sec, you've made me genuinely excited for something that I want to see in any other gacha game. Even better, imagine like 1 big boss that you slowly chip away at throughout a season/ half a season. and you can coop this boss with friends but its essentially a super boss that u literally cannot beat in a single run. this is amazing. it gives the medium lvl players to slowly chip away and get rewards while also incentivising whales and meta to just try and do their best.
Also, this is my own opinion but wuwa will not change genshin. its reception was mid and while 1.1 did good, all its led to is well....this. So nah, genshin does not need to change and will not change. it makes a bajillion dollars and it has a cult following.
The fact that this is real is incredibly disappointing. They're goal was clearly to make the worst end-game mode possible. I can see people just quitting after this. This is the most pathetic way they could have wasted their developers (and soon player's) time.

A small correction about building friendship.
If you do your dailies and claim in coop, spend resin in coop and do the 10 ‘random events’ in coop you can get to FS10 in about 2 weeks. Only needing FS8 should cut that down to around 9-10 days or so.
If you do 0 coop and don’t do the 10 daily ‘random event’ quests it’ll take about 6 weeks to get to FS10.
Hopefully this eases people’s concerns.
Did we really expect the genshin devs to do something great when it comes to ANYTHING related to actual gameplay?! That is our problem. They rather do 1000 weird things before giving us the 1 thing we want? Why?! How can someone be so stubborn?! These modes are only done to give the players something artificial to do. Level up stuff you would never otherwhise.
Ok, i get it the limitations are kinda dogwater, it's bad that you can only do it once every 2 months or so.But isn't that kind of the point? The level and friendship requirements mean that you're only gonna be able to use characters you play atleast a little bit, so it's a way to get a optional cosmetic for (maybe) one of your favorites.Maybe i've missed the point, please enlighten me if i have.
could've been cool if they buff the related characters alongside the game mode's release. but nah that's basically scamming players who didn't invest in those characters, amirite. also let's remember they gotta maintain and keep the TCG environment balanced so clearly the multibillion dollar company is strapped on resources.

The problem with the Level 90 requirement is that you only do that to crown someone, and none of the characters they have is a major character. Any normal player (not the players' dedicated mains) will crown Archons, Big DPSs, Important supports, and etc. Diluc is old and only good again because Plunge DMG, Ninguang is niche, Jean is good but not a character to walk around with as a 1st cycle, and forget the other 2 (I like Kirara but not that much). I'm gonna have to wait for someone I actually love and have Lv. 90 like Kokomi, Furina, Raiden, and etc. They flopped badly, how hard is it to add that content?
Why do you think that they "screwed up"? It is intentional, just like every other frustrating gamedesign decision in this game. Its a gacha, not a game.
Instead, better think about "Why exactly did they release this, and how is it going to help them earn money?".
LMAO saying that it's a gacha, not a game for why it's frustrating to play seems like a pointless argument considering the same company has a gacha game that not only has 3 end game modes tailor made for building your characters and does not have any restrictions built into team aside from PF which requires you to build erudition characters to win but also has another 3 in the form of rougelike which is the Swarm disaster, gold & gears, and the new Divergent Universe....
@@slippy47 Because thats the point? They want to move GI dissatisfied audience to their other "games" for a second round of sifting. Thus they artificially make them look better than Genshin. People will get back to try new GI big patches regardless, it's best if they don't have any f2p savings.
