How to use the Knife tools to make spline cuts in Cinema 4D R18

You can now use splines to project a cut onto any editable object in Cinema 4D, making modeling and cutting that much easier. Watch this tutorial and please ask questions if you have them.

Great, thanks. Now ... I tried that with a spiral spline around a cylinder and it didn't work. It cut only the visible part. Any way to cut around the cylinder?

Thank you for your tip. God bless you man. Please tell me how do you extract back and forth the spline just by pressing Melt command. It doesn’t work in my prog unless I press M-T and Apply button on extract command. If I highlight the polygon -right click- Melt it doesn’t do anything when I’m trying to move it. It drags the whole face in the shape of the polygon of course. What’s the trick with Melt command? Thank you.

These are good tips, just for clarity though these are not spline cuts. You're cutting up polys. Points, edges, and polys are different than working with splines.

maybe you were still in the model mode, try to make the object into the points/edges/polygons mode
