      Could you make a tutorial on some fast render settings? Because i like using the Physical Sky but, it takes a lot more to render, or a tutorial on how to make a sunny lightroom that renders fast....

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      ***** What do you mean sunny lightroom? do you mean a interior room lit from an outside light source?

    I am having a bit of trouble here. I am trying to make a noose with a ragdoll hanging from it, the noose it attached to a Balloon. I've got a constraint on the ballon to the rope spline, then a noose which I have editable attached to the bottom of the rope, the rope around the neck is yet to made, and the ragdoll yet to be put in. My Balloon doesn't react at all when I move it neither does the noose part, when I move them or attempt to animate ? So say if I grab the null and rotate it do the rope falls the noose part just stays put, it did move but I undone something (not the constraint or spring), and when I dropped it it was attached properly. I would like to attach the spring to a polygon point ? is that possible ?

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes, in the spring tag settings you have the option to attach to point

    How do i make a closed spline that has physics and do not break or stretch?

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could use the soft body tag for this.

  • @brianbarber2188
    @brianbarber2188 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for this, I got it working great, but I need to change the length of the string spline. I can't seem to do that. Would the constrain or dynamics tags make the spline uneditable?

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to adjust your spline length, then reset your rest length in the spring.

    • @brianbarber2188
      @brianbarber2188 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      TXH - I can't seem to adjust the spline length, if I grab a point or all of it, scale it etc, the cursor moves, but then snaps back to the original position. I'm a total noob, so I'm sure I'm doing something stupid, sorry

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brianbarber2188 - try removing the spline dynamics tag by putting it on an empty null, make your changes, then put it back.

    • @brianbarber2188
      @brianbarber2188 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thx, that works, but when I put the spline dynamics tag back, it stretched the spline back out. I tried clearing the "Fixed" thing in spline dynamics, but that didn't seem to help. I don't want to waste your time, I'll try to rebuild it once I figure out the exact length I need. (because I also screwed up some other things messing with it.) Thx for the help and the tutorial - very much appreciated. @@@DIGITALMEAT

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brianbarber2188 - when you re-add the spline dynamics tag you have to reset your spline rest length because it has now changed, glad you are liking the tutorials.

  • @rossleeson8626

    Does this work with Reeper x instead of a sweep ? Say if I make it will three swept helixes, around the spine, do I have to add the same dynamics and set point to the null as the main spline (the one you have) ?Sorry to keep asking. Once this part is done I can actually start blocking and animating, but this bit is murdering me.

    • @rossleeson8626
      @rossleeson8626 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      It simply won't do what I want it too.

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Should work with reaper x, i think it's just a posh sweep, give it a go.

    • @rossleeson8626

      it is working now I started again and baked in the animation. I made a few silly mistakes before. Thank You :)

  • @reekhavoker
    @reekhavoker 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this is an old video, but do you know how to make the sweep object interactive?

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      as in a dynamic collider?

    • @reekhavoker
      @reekhavoker 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure about the terminology (I'm fairly new to modeling in general) but I mean to make the rope interact with collidable objects

    • @DIGITALMEAT
      @DIGITALMEAT  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You could probably do this with spline dynamics and spline colliders, just set the diameter of the spline interaction to match the sweep thickness

    • @reekhavoker
      @reekhavoker 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, that worked well
