Don't worry if you have mediocre/not god-tier artifacts. Decent is enough for one character. Move on to the next character and have two strong Abyss teams. Then focus on getting god-tier and insane rolls.
yeah, it feels so much better not focusing on god-tier artifacts. I literally stopped playing for a bit because of it came back with a more chill approach
@@kada0420 yes!! I went hardcore with zhongli. On his rerun i got 2 concelations and i honestly regret it. I could have gotten 2 more characters. Now my zhongli hits hard as hell but i really feel like the fun part of the game is multiple characters to have ultimate fun
I cleared the recent abyss with a level 50 Rosaria level 50 deathmatch no talents I am building lol while using bad 2 bloodstain 2 pale flame artifacts as substitute and still managed to clear it 👍

Same. I'm a super casual player, who will only upgrade artifacts for my main DPS and my super supports, and I absolutely loathe artifact-domain farming. So I keep all 4-star and 5-star artifacts I obtain. I'll sort through them later.
As a hoarder with over 900+ artifacts of all main and sub stats all the time, I am prepared for every single possible stat scaling, even things like split def/hp scaling electro healer.
i can say that i am specifically suited to DPS/subDPSes XD. i have 10 gold artifacts at all times, no more, and the only HP stuff i have is on my diona so that my ganyu doesnt get stuttered.
For true beginners (and some things barely ever said in artifact guides): If you have a 5* artifact drop with only 3 sub stats and the main stat is, say, Atk%, it can never roll Atk% as a 4th sub stat. Basically, you will never see an artifact with 2 of the same stats on it. You can, however, have a flat stat and stat % shared on the same piece. And further, Elemental Mastery can only roll as a flat stat, be it a main or sub stat. Energy Recharge can only roll as a percentage, again, be it a main or sub stat.
@@ffxfgxsfxxxg2419 In its purist form I'm saying if the artifact already has a certain stat, it can't roll it a second time. Then I get into specifics which may or may not make sense to you now or in the future. Seems to have helped 183 people as of this comment so I'm content.
@@ffxfgxsfxxxg2419 most of the time, you cannot roll a main stat like atk%, or crit% as substat if the artifact's main stat is the same. However there are exceptions like ER or EM.
We need an easier way to sort the artifacts in the upgrade menu, right now sorting by level or quality just makes your eyes bleed, also they need to raise the amount you can feed at a time.
Animate cancel artifact feeding. After you auto input the artifacts and click enhance, click the "details" tab to cancel the animation then click back to the "enhance" tab for another round.
As for sorting artifacts, I have every artifact on Genshin Optimizer and fodder / gamble everything it lists as fodder lol. I might keep some wildly good crit or dmg% pieces ofc but the bar always moves higher and I try not to overthink.
New players should certainly watch the entire video, It's very informative; I would even say veteran players like myself should watch it as it was well structured, and easy to reference.
I would really, REALLY love the ability to: 1) create artifact sets; 2) organize artifacts setting multiple rules; and 3) mark artifacs with different simbols or even by writing down a small note. With current UI sorting out artifacs is just a pain.
I still think a pity system on artifact domains should be a thing. Like, after "X" resin spent on a domain should at least be allowed to choose a specific piece from the set you want, it's main stat and 3/4 of it's substats.

I do agree that an artifact pity system should exist. And to choose specific piece sounds great. Choosing specific main stat feels like it's pushing it. Substats? No, that's asking for too much. Feasibly you can get 3-4 great pieces of a set per week, and realistically it wouldn't be too hard to find a really decent/good off-piece for completing a character. Then again, I don't want to be a bootlicker. But grinding for increasingly better stuff is half the fun.
Most of my best 5* artifacts started out looking like duds, 3 substats 2 of them total trash. roll it up to +4 and lo and behold it gets CR/D, and then most/all the rolls go into that. If 4th is trash or if 2 rolls go into trash stats then I give up and feed it to something better.
For team comp and rotation, if we use beta as base, theorethically she shine the most in eula comp and beidou comp. Now let's see in her live version does she become a universal battery that can also works in 3 most meta team (vaporize, melt, and freeze) or she end up building new comp (electrocharge and overload. And yes, i did not mention superconduct since for now it's just basically eula team. For tazer team, the reason it's good is that both fischl and beidou snapshot, and in beta sadly reiden E doesn't snapshot {hope they changed it in live version})
I once had a sands with 3 flat starting stats and was about to throw it away when I decided I would test it and give it a chance, at +4 Crit damage was added and at lvl 20 it ended on 34% Crit damage Always give your artifacts a chance.
The exact opposite happened to me yesterday I got the perfect artifact with crit rate and dmg max rolls and EM I leveled it up for the 4th sub and got hp% but yk a little hp wouldn't hurt so I leveled it up again only to get hp again...but I had hope and leveled it up to 12 and got hp again That's when I gave up and it became food for some other artifact lol

I got a 4 star artifact with crit rate and when I rolled for new substats I got trash ones like def, and hp% but somehow all the substats upgrades went to crit rate
What I apply (AR55): - Play your game whenever you want, and have patience with grinding, cause def/hp rolls will always be there (Unless Noelle / Barbara...) - 2, 3, 4 optimal rolls, all depends of each one standards (and mood while farming) - Don't sleep on 3 roll artifact, cause it might roll for something useful - And most important... Grind for Mora, 3 million can be burnt in a couple of minutes Thanks for the vid
My f2p friendly ppl, I advice you to farm boss material for all your characters to 80 ascended and all talent to 6. And farm daily overworld artifact about 144 total and whatever artifact fodder to upgrade one artifact to 20. Ensure all character have full upgrade artifact. Then only then farm artifact domain to optimise your characters stats. This way you wouldn't need to worry about ever upgrading this character and focus solely on artifact domain in the future
As a guy who has been struggling with artifact juggling since the beta thank you. I honestly took a break from this game for a month during the Eula banner cause the artifact farming and not getting good stats burned me out so much. So I missed Eula but prepping for a rerun but I really want Kokomi though you gave me some knowledge about artifacts and where to put em and I'm greatful for that! Thanks a lot man seriously!
The artifact system is so depressing sometimes Despite the hundreds or even thousands of artifacts I've grinded I only have 3 5* Electro damage goblets, and all of them are terrible with at least 2 flat stats each and not a single sign of crit rate or crit damage.
I got Baal today and wasted 8 fragile resin ( everything I had ) and my 5 condensed resin so that's around 24 rolls and in those 34 rolls I only have 9 of the energy recharge 5* which I need for Baal everything else was atk + 18, no way that's not rigged
assuming each piece has an equal chance (the wiki says so) then u only have 10% (slightly bigger) chance to get the piece you want (not looking at stats) -> around 63% chance to get it in first 10 runs (wont bother u with the math) i was thinking of an easy crafting method 3x same main stat -> infuse an artifact with that main stat (3x pyro goblet -> change main stat of another goblet to pyro) 3x same piece of a set -> change the type of the set to the desired one (3x noblesse goblet -> change the type of a goblet to noblesse) 30 runs on average to get a piece of a set with a specific main stat (and desirable sub stats) it could also work only on lvl 0 artifacts if it is considered too strong but it seems that artifacts are meant to waste weeks/months worth of resin, so no chance for any determinism to be implemented
my eula has 2 piece pale flame and 2 piece glad bc i got super lucky with my glad pieces. she does more damage than the 4 piece pale flame or adding 2 piece bloodstained that i had on her before because i have only 1 or 2 good pale flame pieces (im still farming for more pale flame, im just super unlucky :[ )
this is so true, I usually grind for the sets I want for a character but then end up building them with a different set bc I have better artifacts on different sets, I sometimes even forget there's a set bonus
I am starting to see that because to beat Spiral Abyss with 3 Stars, you have to kill things faster and skill of play isn't as important as skill of building out character and squad correctly.
Many sets have too good bonuses to pass up though, some even have effects not obtainable by any other means, like cooldown reductions and resistance shread or just a tons of more stats if the character can utilise said set like Pale Flame and Emblem. Maybe Shimenawa for some characters. If the character can't fully utilise the 4pc, getting the set isn't that important

11:36 I can second to this that you need to test out every potential circlet. Like there's an instance that I can't find crimson witch crit circlet for diluc but for weeks I can't receive any. Although I have atk% circlet with recharge sub stat and double crit stats and an Em. Its a risky move but I gave it a go since I can't find a crit main stat for weeks now. To me surprise, it literally rolled 31% crit damage. Seriously that was my only artifact that has the highest crit sub stat. Most I have averages out around 20.

Just started getting into artifact farming at AR45 and oh my god it's the most dull thing in the whole game. I wish there was some sort of way to customize them even a little.
It's the end game has to offer. Log in, do your dailies, do the current event, use your resin in artefacts log off and wait for new characters or new region.
@@Prolatangon use your resin for leveling up characters and not artefacts. Artefact farming only makes sense at ar45. And don't use your fragile resin until then.
It's also worth mentioning that the Strongbox feature added in 2.0 speeds up artifact farming by a LOT. Glad and Noblesse are both good sets that fit well with many characters, and Wanderer and Bloodstained are a bit more situational but still useful. Trash 5* should go into the strongbox rather than being used as EXP fodder, especially considering EXP fodder is available for free in the overworld.
I appreciate you for this. I'm AR57 and I've been stuck at 980-1k artifacts since v1.4 because I'm one of those "just in case" people. Which in turn puts me off from farming because I think they're all going to be useful at one point, like my Gladiators I've been getting since launch day. Thanks for the push I need to go in the right direction.
Really good video, I'm a casual player so not really into min/max, I got I little picky with Diluc (50/160) and Razor (60/130) but for supports I just aim for 50/100 and that's it, artifacts are frustrating to farm, way to much rng.

It should be noted that if you only +4 an artifact and then feed it into another to get it to +4 from 0, you won't lose any XP. I've confirmed this by taking a +4 and put it into a fresh artifact, and it +4 to the exact same XP, and then doing the same thing with that one to another fresh artifact. Tested this at least 5 times straight and can confirm I get the same XP out of it each time!
I vividly remember this was one of the first videos I ever watched of yours way back when I first started playing. You had a great way of explaining that helped get me started in learning the intricacies of the battle system. So here I am, half a year later and I'm finally starting to grind for better substats and let me tell ya... This is super helpful bc I just came to the recent realization that some artifacts may be better than they look. I finished leveling all of my Fischl set the other day and I thought her Electro DMG Bonus piece was going to be her worst, because it had pretty bad substats to start, but it rolled into crit damage (almost?) every time. So now I have that artifact with 25% crit dmg
This was super helpful for those at lower AR levels that haven’t started artifact farming yet. The reasoning on what stats to look for and keep makes the whole process less confusing and structured. For those who like to maximize their characters where ever they can, this is a good approach 🙏
i've been playing since day 1 and had lots of 5* artifact i never wanted to take time to watch if they may become useful or not. After watching this i cleaned my entire artifact bag. now i have like 50-60 lvl 20 decent artifacts, Thank you so much for this ♥

I usually keep every artifact I see has nice stats, I lvele them up with they end up being really good, I discard them if they aren't, I usually only use off pieces on my characters while my main dps have a full set, so my characters have good ratios but I don't have to grind pieces for them, this way I can also teat characters with ease, and if I have a full set I can just pick a good off piece out if the ones I had before to fill in while being good
Bookmarks and notes for myself: 2:02 Best and Worst Stats Overall 2:56 Flowers and Feathers, you can be more picky with substats. 5:20 5-star artifacts with 4 substats at level 0 are inherently at a bigger advantage compared to those with 3 substats at level 0. If it has 4 substats at lvl 0, it will only roll into the substats that are already there.
For anyone new watching this video, there is a correction @ “11:50” there is no 3 crit substat circlet. Sands, goblet and circlet won’t have a substat which is the same as their main stat.
The fact that qiqi is so unanimosly considered bad by the community actually hit me really hard when he said that we should ignore his qiqi's artifact I literally found every character and Completely forgot that qiqi exists

I've read your pinned and said that you're gonna make a guide for baal, may I request you include the good skill sequence for her (elemental skill - switch to another character - burst) as such? I have some very good artifacts by rarely farming because of the following rules: 1. Farming artifacts comes only after the talents and weapons are done. 2. Artifacts that benefit at least 1 dps and the highest number of supports at the same time have more priority. 3. Artifacts that can be replaced by Wanderers or Gladiators will not be farmed. 4. Exceptions can only be made if a set is needed to 36 star the abyss. Example: The artifact domain that benefits most of my characters is the Blizzard/Heart of depth domain, useful for Kaeya, Ganyu, Rosaria, Xingqiu and Chongyun. I used to farm it whenever I'm done levelling up weapons and talents, thus following rules 1 and 2. After these characters had decent artifacts and the odds of getting even better artifacts started shrinking, I moved on to the next domain: Noblesse, then with Inazuma the Shimenawa/Severed Fate domain, all while only using the leftover resin and never making artifacts a priority. Until this day I still have never farmed the crimson witch domain since the only pyro characters I use are Xiangling, she has 2 wanderer and 2 Noblesse and Yanfei with 4 Wanderers. Some exceptions are Sucrose for which I spent about 2 days worth of resin on the veneerer set, and Eula with about 1 week's worth on Pale Flame

i've never ever got any artifact with crit rate as a main stat, it's nearly impossible i don't understand how people can get it... i think im gonna be stuck forever with a hu tao with only 28% crit rate. Is the crimson witch domain cursed or i am just too unlucky ?

artifact farming being pure rng with no possible guarantee whatsoever is easily the worst part of this game. i don’t even mind the gacha character/weapon system nearly as much bc at least you have some sort of guarantees there and they aren’t NECESSARY to progress in the game, but artifacts are pure luck and actually needed, even if you stick to the starter team
Great guide... The problem is, perfect artifacts are so hard to get and I don't have the time to spend trying to get one. I am AR 56 now and I have maybe 3 perfect artifacts despite having a lot of artifacts. But I really don't care much. I like the damage I am dealing.
Watching this actually feels like an extension of myself being presented, which I too think that it's the optimal strategy to keep artifacts since I'm already doing this for ~8months. Uploading this is the best you can do to this community. Protip: Also i stress like in this video already mention to be picky on sub stats for a potential off-piece, you will never know when you will need it. There will be over 100 character in the future, surely they will increase the amount of artifacts you able to store in the future.

The biggest problem with testing artifacts is that it costs an absurd amount of Mora and we have no Mora.

I do agree that an artifact pity system should exist.
And to choose specific piece sounds great. Choosing specific main stat feels like it's pushing it. Substats? No, that's asking for too much.
Feasibly you can get 3-4 great pieces of a set per week, and realistically it wouldn't be too hard to find a really decent/good off-piece for completing a character.
Then again, I don't want to be a bootlicker. But grinding for increasingly better stuff is half the fun.
And then there's me, who never throws away artifacts because they have a 1% chance of being not complete trash and I'm overdosing on copium

Most of my best 5* artifacts started out looking like duds, 3 substats 2 of them total trash. roll it up to +4 and lo and behold it gets CR/D, and then most/all the rolls go into that. If 4th is trash or if 2 rolls go into trash stats then I give up and feed it to something better.

For team comp and rotation, if we use beta as base, theorethically she shine the most in eula comp and beidou comp.
Now let's see in her live version does she become a universal battery that can also works in 3 most meta team (vaporize, melt, and freeze) or she end up building new comp (electrocharge and overload. And yes, i did not mention superconduct since for now it's just basically eula team. For tazer team, the reason it's good is that both fischl and beidou snapshot, and in beta sadly reiden E doesn't snapshot {hope they changed it in live version})

I once had a sands with 3 flat starting stats and was about to throw it away when I decided I would test it and give it a chance, at +4 Crit damage was added and at lvl 20 it ended on 34% Crit damage

The exact opposite happened to me yesterday
I got the perfect artifact with crit rate and dmg max rolls and EM I leveled it up for the 4th sub and got hp% but yk a little hp wouldn't hurt so I leveled it up again only to get hp again...but I had hope and leveled it up to 12 and got hp again
That's when I gave up and it became food for some other artifact lol

Man i never got a crit dmg substat that high. Highest i have is 26.5%
I got a 4 star artifact with crit rate and when I rolled for new substats I got trash ones like def, and hp% but somehow all the substats upgrades went to crit rate
What I apply (AR55):
- Play your game whenever you want, and have patience with grinding, cause def/hp rolls will always be there (Unless Noelle / Barbara...)
- 2, 3, 4 optimal rolls, all depends of each one standards (and mood while farming)
- Don't sleep on 3 roll artifact, cause it might roll for something useful
- And most important... Grind for Mora, 3 million can be burnt in a couple of minutes

My f2p friendly ppl, I advice you to farm boss material for all your characters to 80 ascended and all talent to 6. And farm daily overworld artifact about 144 total and whatever artifact fodder to upgrade one artifact to 20. Ensure all character have full upgrade artifact. Then only then farm artifact domain to optimise your characters stats. This way you wouldn't need to worry about ever upgrading this character and focus solely on artifact domain in the future
But why upgrade all characters artifacts to full level? And could it be 4star artifacts or only 5s?

I honestly took a break from this game for a month during the Eula banner cause the artifact farming and not getting good stats burned me out so much. So I missed Eula but prepping for a rerun but I really want Kokomi though you gave me some knowledge about artifacts and where to put em and I'm greatful for that!

The artifact system is so depressing sometimes
Despite the hundreds or even thousands of artifacts I've grinded I only have 3 5* Electro damage goblets, and all of them are terrible with at least 2 flat stats each and not a single sign of crit rate or crit damage.

I got Baal today and wasted 8 fragile resin ( everything I had ) and my 5 condensed resin so that's around 24 rolls and in those 34 rolls I only have 9 of the energy recharge 5* which I need for Baal everything else was atk + 18, no way that's not rigged

assuming each piece has an equal chance (the wiki says so) then u only have 10% (slightly bigger) chance to get the piece you want (not looking at stats) -> around 63% chance to get it in first 10 runs (wont bother u with the math)
i was thinking of an easy crafting method
3x same main stat -> infuse an artifact with that main stat
(3x pyro goblet -> change main stat of another goblet to pyro)
3x same piece of a set -> change the type of the set to the desired one
(3x noblesse goblet -> change the type of a goblet to noblesse)
30 runs on average to get a piece of a set with a specific main stat (and desirable sub stats)
it could also work only on lvl 0 artifacts if it is considered too strong
but it seems that artifacts are meant to waste weeks/months worth of resin, so no chance for any determinism to be implemented

my eula has 2 piece pale flame and 2 piece glad bc i got super lucky with my glad pieces. she does more damage than the 4 piece pale flame or adding 2 piece bloodstained that i had on her before because i have only 1 or 2 good pale flame pieces (im still farming for more pale flame, im just super unlucky :[ )
this is so true, I usually grind for the sets I want for a character but then end up building them with a different set bc I have better artifacts on different sets, I sometimes even forget there's a set bonus
I am starting to see that because to beat Spiral Abyss with 3 Stars, you have to kill things faster and skill of play isn't as important as skill of building out character and squad correctly.

Many sets have too good bonuses to pass up though, some even have effects not obtainable by any other means, like cooldown reductions and resistance shread or just a tons of more stats if the character can utilise said set like Pale Flame and Emblem. Maybe Shimenawa for some characters. If the character can't fully utilise the 4pc, getting the set isn't that important

11:36 I can second to this that you need to test out every potential circlet. Like there's an instance that I can't find crimson witch crit circlet for diluc but for weeks I can't receive any. Although I have atk% circlet with recharge sub stat and double crit stats and an Em. Its a risky move but I gave it a go since I can't find a crit main stat for weeks now. To me surprise, it literally rolled 31% crit damage. Seriously that was my only artifact that has the highest crit sub stat. Most I have averages out around 20.
Genshin Impact for me is like Grinding Impact. Everyday grinding artifacts, mora,etc. 😁

Just started getting into artifact farming at AR45 and oh my god it's the most dull thing in the whole game.
I wish there was some sort of way to customize them even a little.
It's the end game has to offer. Log in, do your dailies, do the current event, use your resin in artefacts log off and wait for new characters or new region.
I'm at AR32 and grind for good level 4 artis every day because I'm weak.
@@Prolatangon use your resin for leveling up characters and not artefacts. Artefact farming only makes sense at ar45.
And don't use your fragile resin until then.

It's also worth mentioning that the Strongbox feature added in 2.0 speeds up artifact farming by a LOT. Glad and Noblesse are both good sets that fit well with many characters, and Wanderer and Bloodstained are a bit more situational but still useful. Trash 5* should go into the strongbox rather than being used as EXP fodder, especially considering EXP fodder is available for free in the overworld.

I appreciate you for this. I'm AR57 and I've been stuck at 980-1k artifacts since v1.4 because I'm one of those "just in case" people. Which in turn puts me off from farming because I think they're all going to be useful at one point, like my Gladiators I've been getting since launch day. Really good video, I'm a casual player so not really into min/max, I got I little picky with Diluc (50/160) and Razor (60/130) but for supports I just aim for 50/100 and that's it, artifacts are frustrating to farm, way to much rng.
I'm just hoping Mihoyo will upgrade artifact inventory to 1500 ;)

Tysm for taking your time to make this guide. I'm AR 51 and you taught me some very nice "Tips n Tricks" that will essentially save me so much time in the long run, before I figured it out(Insert your tip here) from my own gameplay experiences. You da MvP I subbed.
It should be noted that if you only +4 an artifact and then feed it into another to get it to +4 from 0, you won't lose any XP. I've confirmed this by taking a +4 and put it into a fresh artifact, and it +4 to the exact same XP, and then doing the same thing with that one to another fresh artifact. Tested this at least 5 times straight and can confirm I get the same XP out of it each time!
This is because the amount of xp bar lost is equal to the base fodder xp of a +0 artifact
I vividly remember this was one of the first videos I ever watched of yours way back when I first started playing. You had a great way of explaining that helped get me started in learning the intricacies of the battle system.
So here I am, half a year later and I'm finally starting to grind for better substats and let me tell ya... This video hits differently 👌

This is super helpful bc I just came to the recent realization that some artifacts may be better than they look. I finished leveling all of my Fischl set the other day and I thought her Electro DMG Bonus piece was going to be her worst, because it had pretty bad substats to start, but it rolled into crit damage (almost?) every time. So now I have that artifact with 25% crit dmg
This brought me a lot of peace of mind. Long video with lots of info, but 100% worth it to hear.

I usually keep every artifact I see has nice stats, I lvele them up with they end up being really good, I discard them if they aren't, I usually only use off pieces on my characters while my main dps have a full set, so my characters have good ratios but I don't have to grind pieces for them, this way I can also teat characters with ease, and if I have a full set I can just pick a good off piece out if the ones I had before to fill in while being good

For anyone new watching this video, there is a correction @ “11:50” there is no 3 crit substat circlet. Sands, goblet and circlet won’t have a substat which is the same as their main stat.

I have some very good artifacts by rarely farming because of the following rules:
1. Farming artifacts comes only after the talents and weapons are done.
2. Artifacts that benefit at least 1 dps and the highest number of supports at the same time have more priority.
3. Artifacts that can be replaced by Wanderers or Gladiators will not be farmed.
4. Exceptions can only be made if a set is needed to 36 star the abyss.
Example: The artifact domain that benefits most of my characters is the Blizzard/Heart of depth domain, useful for Kaeya, Ganyu, Rosaria, Xingqiu and Chongyun. I used to farm it whenever I'm done levelling up weapons and talents, thus following rules 1 and 2. After these characters had decent artifacts and the odds of getting even better artifacts started shrinking, I moved on to the next domain: Noblesse, then with Inazuma the Shimenawa/Severed Fate domain, all while only using the leftover resin and never making artifacts a priority.
Until this day I still have never farmed the crimson witch domain since the only pyro characters I use are Xiangling, she has 2 wanderer and 2 Noblesse and Yanfei with 4 Wanderers. Some exceptions are Sucrose for which I spent about 2 days worth of resin on the veneerer set, and Eula with about 1 week's worth on Pale Flame

artifact farming being pure rng with no possible guarantee whatsoever is easily the worst part of this game. i don’t even mind the gacha character/weapon system nearly as much bc at least you have some sort of guarantees there and they aren’t NECESSARY to progress in the game, but artifacts are pure luck and actually needed, even if you stick to the starter team

Great guide... The problem is, perfect artifacts are so hard to get and I don't have the time to spend trying to get one. I am AR 56 now and I have maybe 3 perfect artifacts despite having a lot of artifacts. But I really don't care much. I like the damage I am dealing.
Watching this actually feels like an extension of myself being presented, which I too think that it's the optimal strategy to keep artifacts since I'm already doing this for ~8months. Uploading this is the best you can do to this community.
