I feel for Roger. For decades IMS needed someone who loved IMS to own it. And now that a true racer owns IMS...this happens.

I do feel for him too but He is Roger Penske and he along with everyone else will overcome this. If anybody can handle IMS and keep it in good hands it’s Penske

@@kennethterry8196 I agree with you and Mark Nicholson - in a way it's very sad that this is what had to happen to Mr Penske's first race as owner. But I can't imagine how much worse off everything would be right now if it were anybody else but him at the helm with the addition of all the experienced people in his organization to the great people already at IMS/Indycar like Doug Boles & Mark Miles.

Thank goodness the Hulman-George Family sold the track to an individual who respects the facility. The Captain will take a financial hit for this but I believe he is looking for the future and he (and his group) are doing the right thing. It will be very strange but at least the local broadcast will not be blacked out (if I understand it correctly). @ims is very special.

This year, I won't have a ticket but I'll be on my couch watching with all the race fans around the world and rooting for a good Pennsylvania boy like me to win.

I feel sorry for you that you are so bound, and blinded by Fear that you will allow your very life, and freedom to be taken away because of an Evil agenda to subdue and control you. I hope people read these misinformed and angry comments and understand they do not come from a place or malice but rather pain as the world we live in is slowly ripped to shreds.
It’s a rough time for everyone, things are changing quickly, and if we have to do so little as to not attend a race in order to hopefully save some lives or have a positive impact in the world then I am for it.
Keep in mind the commenters are always the minority, there are always multiple times as many people who silently accept the decisions as there are who loudly yell.

I went to the 500 back in the good days for years! When the whole month of May was every weekend and it was really for Race Fans! When Tony ran the 500 for the people, not just big corporations! We had the real Snake Pit and it would 10 bucks and you went every weekend for quantifications! When he died they turned it over to the BIG SHOTS like Penske! Penske started to screw it up by starting CART, that's all I got to say about that! I wish we had the Good Old Days back!

This isn't what I wrote the first time, someone changed it! I don't how that got changed but the CART part they added is true and Penske always wanted to take over Indy Racing! I didn't say it before but someone added that in! You Kids with your wise replies don't have a clue how it was for the FANS back then! One weekend Saturday quantifications and Sunday the Race and then everyone has time to watch a Nascar Race!
