Thanks guys for the update. I've missed you! So thankful for your honest depictions. Not a lot of that on the internet. You're just living your life. You don't owe anyone out here anything, the keto community included. Love you !

I’m not totally in agreement with this. They’ve made their bones and following on the channel by making everything public. We are invested in their story and a checkin video or story would have been nice.

I wish them luck .. they truly are an inspiration .. The way dad stepped up with the kids when mom needed him to .. he is obviously a keeper .. I just have way less in common with them then I use to

More like 6 years +. I will have been on keto for 5 years, come the end of this month and I'm pretty sure you were at least a year ahead of me, maybe more. I couldn't have survived the first six months of keto if it weren't for you, your YT channel, and your website. I still make many of your recipes -- both from your channel and your cookbook -- that have become some of my favorites.
I was so sad to hear that you have had a rough road of it, Megha. I'm really glad the worst is past and you're starting to feel like yourself again. The boys are adorable, btw. I love listening to Theo talk!
Whereas I got sick 2-3 times every year (before keto), I haven't been sick once since I started, not even a 24 hour sore throat, nothing! I attribute that to keto. It's the only thing I've changed, but of course, it changes everything.
I look forward to hearing how you do on this new eating plan, Matt. I will also look for the books you recommended. I'm glad you're doing that.

I started watching you guys back when you were still in Philly, you were what inspired me to start keto. I did fantastic for a long time and watched you and the savages regularly. Then about the time I started deeper state keto both your channels really started pushing a mentality that if “you really want it you make time for it” and having kids and work and life struggles was just an excuse to not eat healthy and hit the gym every day. I loved watching you guys and knew that as young couples you would one day find out how that’s not really true. But it was still really difficult to hear and I had to stop watching both channels. I’m glad to see your on the other side of things now, your family is amazing and you both deserve all the health and happiness in the world.

Now that I am better I am making up for lost time but so grateful for my health and my 4 boys 🤍

Thnx for sharing so much of your life with the world. Glad Megah is healing.
The best way to know if you’ve overdone carbs is to gauge how crabby you feel 2-3 days later. Of course the more carbs you consume the more cardio output you need to put in. But insulin spikes alone will tell you if you’ve over done it, cause you will get more crangry, then usual…. At least that’s how i gauge it. Grains tear me up the most: body aches, depressed mood etc.
Life is not static bro. Forgive yourself always. It’s ok to binge on carbs once in a while, sometimes for energy sometimes for comfort. What is the least detrimental carb? For me its fruit or dairy items.
    -Best wishes

So happy to see your update! I have had PF off and on for years….one time in both feet at the same time.
The only thing that worked permanently (so far) for me was getting custom inserts for both feet from my foot/ankle doctor. He said I had let it get so bad that it would take about 90 days to heal. It took that much time!
    Glad Megha is feeling better!
Look forward to your future updates.

I am really glad that Megha is feeling better and I hope that she continues to heal. I have a chronically ill family member and I know how painful it is for them to miss out on life. However, they have made nutrition a huge priority and I believe it’s been key in helping them heal. I do think that strict keto with no processed keto crap or carnivore/ketovore would help Megha a lot with her interstitial cystitis and managing flare ups.

I am glad you are doing better Megha I have a chronic illness diagnosed at 20 and I'm 51 now it has been a long hard road those who aren't chronically ill really have no grasp how many challenges we have physically mentally emotionally I fought everyday to do as much as I could when my boys were younger they are in their 20s now and help care for me as I am on oxygen and use a wheelchair. I carried guilt anger and sadness when I was younger about the cards I was dealt and the chronic pain was so debilitating. Once I really decided to face it head on and kind of mourned the disease free life I was never going to have and embrace each days new normal with a champion spirit that was really the turning point for me in mentally freeing myself and my focus on living it the very best I was able each day. Changing up the eating is normal. Most of us use keto cyclically, I've been doing it on and off for 40 years, having started with Atkins. Problem is the gaining of weight when not on keto and yes life and kids do get in the way.
Let's face it, there are times the body craves tropical fruits, ice cream etc. My kryptonite is ice cream when I'm not on keto.
Now I'm nearly 70, fighting the inflammation created when not on keto, not to mention the excessive weight gain during the last 3 years.
I've decided that keto has to be a way of life for me with the odd higher carb day to shake things up.
Wish you all the best on your family and dieting journey.

I'm glad you guys are okay. Perhaps the reason why you can't find anything about his diet is because it's the throw everything and see what sticks approach. I'm seen no seed oil and no grain on both Dr. Berry and Dr. Berg's channels. Seriously, orange juice is nothing but sugar. Eat the damn fruit if you must.

As a type2 insulin dependent diabetic, keto saved my life! Lost weight, a1c 5.1, lots of energy...then after 3 years, I fell off my program...a1c 6.6... weight gain and fatigue...
    Heading back to what worked...keto!

Keep us updated. I understand the pain of PF in the feet. I committed to carnivore for 1 month and within 2 weeks my foot was 95% better. No joke. Still have minimal rare flare up. I’m ketovore. That’s also when I learned about lectins.

Happy New Year!!!! So happy to see your beautiful family!!! Megha I'm thrilled that you are healing. I too belong to the IC club. Children do change you and the household dynamics for sure. Started with you in2017 you taught me so much about food and health. Will always be here because you are an honest, funny, authentic family who I have loved since Philly. Matt I would love to hear about the classics you're reading. I too have read the Catcher a few times. My #1classic is The Grapes of Wrath. I've read that at least 5 times or every few decades. The boys are absolutely gorgeous!!! Continued blessings.🙏🏽💖💯

Thank you so much for the update. I am glad that Megha is farther down the road of recovery. It is amazing how I actually thought about Megha from time to time and I hoped and prayed that she was getting better. The kids are still cute as ever and I put the Corrections on to my reading list. Unfortunately, I am just hoping to read 12 books this year not 52. Take care

Megha, I absolutely understand what you mean about missing out on life when are struggling with health issues. Last year I was hospitalized about a dozen times and even on a psych unit for anorexia. I missed out on about 3 or 4 months. It sucks.

Megha I agree with you about all that sugar from those tropical fruits and juices, I wouldn’t know how to hold back. I know me I will just blow up.
Now I have switched from keto to carnivore for about 5 months. I was so miserable doing carnivore. It took me getting super sick for a few weeks to realize I needed something more in my body while it was healing. My husband stop 2 weeks before me. He kept saying you got to eat fruits and veggies and that's what my body craved. I took his advice and now I'm feeling so much better.
When I return, I will probably only do ketovore but this time listen to my body and eat what I need when I need it.
You are on the right track. Do what is right for you.
I wish you and your family well!

Wow! I'm glad to see you all. I haven't seen you in a while. So this is even a year ago, lol. I will have to search more to see how this turned out. I wonder about so much orange juice too. But, I have read that carbs are not essential, but many foods have nutrients we need, and they just happened to have carbs. So oranges aren't evil, but I couldn't drink that many oranges at a time. I have found as I am older, dairy seems to bother me and my joints. When I consume it very much I find myself getting around like an old woman, lol. I AM an old woman, but I want to not creep around. So I am still trying to work it out. I make my own yogurt and learning about making kefir to see if fermented milk works for me. I don't feel the need to drink milk, but I need it to get the yogurt and kefir. I'm not sure if just consuming it that way is better. I have been diagnosed with lipedema and lymphedema. It is hard to diagnose and many doctors don't know much about it, or what to do for it. The thing suggested by doctors that do resiearch it and try to help people that are affected by it to eat a ketogenic diet and to lower or omit dairy, but everyone is affected differently. I don't really miss milk, but I do enjoy yogurt and kefor. I am hoping I can continue those. The only way I could use orange juice would be to juice it myself. Cooked fruit I don't believe is a good idea. At least it is more like its original form when you juice it- it is live juice! But those are my ideas about it all. So I am trying to get more serious about keto again, and seeing that you are transitioning to something else feels wierd. But everything changes. People have to figure out what works for them and what makes them happy. I was glad to get a break from keto, but I gained a lot of weight thawt I had lost and I don't feel as good. It is harder for me to lose again, so that is a challenge I will have to deal with. I will keep gaining weight if I don't address it. There are so many options. Sometimes I think if we eat as much whole foods as possible and have a balance of it, that can make sense. Even oranges have I think it is called diosmin, which is good for circulation and good for the symptoms I have, and eating an orange or haveing some fresh juice I think can be beneficial. I will have to look up your updates since this one to see how you are doing. I hope all is well, you have beautiful children. It seems like it changes so much, and i guess it really does, you think it will never change from all of the efforts you go through when your children are young. But it goes so fast, before you know it, it will all change again and they will be grown. I can sympathise with how you expressed yourself and being overwhelmed with the everyday with children. I had three girls. Now they are in their mid thirties and early forties and it just didn't take long for that to happen.
