    Just wanted to post on here a fix for an issue I ran into with this, for anyone that might also have the issue, my default midi track had a utility fx on it which made it have no "midi to" option, so if you are missing a midi to option and only have an audio to option be sure you don't have any audio fx on your track.

    Hey @BruceMennel great video, what i've been looking for pretty much. Any hints on how I can make Maschine control ableton's transport (play/stop/loop) etc. so that I can use the rapid midi recording pattern building Maschine offers while using the Maschine software inside Ableton with the routing above? Thanks for your question! With the Maschine MK3, you can record MIDI sequences that trigger any sample loaded into Maschine. These sequences are essentially instructions for when and how the samples should play. While you can't record audio directly into the MK3 itself, you can work with MIDI sequences to create patterns and tracks that trigger your loaded samples. Let me know if you’d like more details about setting this up!

    Hi Bruce, this video is very helpful, for beginners like me. once the 16 midi channels and 10 audio channels have been configured in Ableton, I have to save live as a model in AB12. Is this correct?
    On the audio tracks side I can play my patterns and record clips, listening to every single sound inside ab12 live. everything works fine. I have some problems with midi tracks. I import groove from Maschine mk3 into ab12live and I can hear the entire groove and see the midi notes, but: 1 I don't hear the individual sounds 2 it doesn't record the midi notes that I play in the clips that I create new in ab12, using the Mascine mk3 pads (like I do with the audio tracks mentioned above). Where am I wrong, I don't understand.
    Thanks in advance for your support.

    Thank you! A super rookie producer question: Why do you need 16 midi tracks and 16 audio tracks (especially considering limited CPU resources in my case) instead of 1 MIDI and 1 Audio? I notice that all the things I play on Maschine controller appear in the single audio track anyway (all the 16 pads within the group)? Do you intend to separately apply effects to each track (separately for the clap, separately for the kick etc)?

    • @BruceMennel
      @BruceMennel  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      In this video, the setup I present is designed to take full advantage of Ableton's built-in audio effects, providing a wider range of options for easy editing and routing, especially when used with an APC controller. Each element can be processed individually and then grouped into busses, ensuring that every sound has its own space to shine. Additionally, there's a significant advantage when it comes to automation-Ableton makes it much easier to draw automations compared to Maschine.

    Don't bother, stopped working with Ableton 12. Having to use their awful DAW as VST insider another DAW is what made me don't give another penny to this company. @@BruceMennel The reason of lag is because you're using NI Maschine DAW inside Ableton. That's a huge CPU hog plus it's a nightmare to set up in-outs and never worked properly.
      I don't use Maschine DAW, I was referring to load Kontakt VST inside Ableton and use MK3 to control instruments like you can with their keyboard controllers.
      This was a request for many users over the years but Native never implemented, because obviously they want you to buy their hardware keyboards.
      If you don't use Maschine as your DAW, the MK3 is pretty useless.
      Here in the UK there are lots of people selling them for cheap, mine is on Reverb for over a year!
