What the Grizzlies actually gained from this deal were two potential up-and-comers in Javaris Crittenton and Pau's younger brother Marc (arguably the best center in Europe right now) as well as two first round picks for this year and 2010. Come to think about it, this may have been the best trade either team could have done... ;-)

But then Bynum went down, they were in shortage of big men. So They traded for Gasol as a desperation move, since Bynum went down.
