"The two would never be separated, and some say they are together still, up amongst the stars where hamsters are giants and men become legends." This must be one of the greatest sentences ever written, ever. Ever ever.
" Well, what is Minsc without Boo? The two would never be seperated, and some say they are together still, up amongst the stars where hampsters are giants and men become legends." Chills are going up and down the back.
The Justice Fists made me laugh because that's EXACTLY what Minsc would have called his team...then the last line made me cry because it's too beautifully written.
Strange how a fictional character can have such impact on people. Reading the last sentence always makes me sad, becouse he followed your party trough the Whole Baldurs Gate story and was that "Odd but Awesome" hero. :(
Minsc... once... In one of my run, you and Boo put the final hit to Firkraag, saving the whole group and my girlfriend (Jaheira) from a certain death. From where I sat, at my desk, in front of my computer... I was shouting "MINSC... YOU ARE A LEGEND !!!"... but you couldn't hear me from where you were. Not being able to hug you at this moment, was a big frustration... Actually, Minsc... I know you do not exist for real...but I believe on what you and Boo mean to me : the companions to think about when I'm lost in my thought. And it's real enough to me. One day, I know we will meet again with Jaheira and Boo and Imoen... to laugh and drink... listening to the last Jan Jansen funny stories ! See ya !!!
Whatever I do in Baldur's Gate, this guy is ALWAYS in my party. No exceptions, ever. He gave me my internet nickname and made me completely fall in love with the game series.
My all time favorite game and Minsc is my all time favorite NPC I have not played Baldur's Gate 2 in at least 8 years and forgotten how beautiful the ending was
Minsc effected my life big time, when I played BG1 15 or so years ago, I got a hamster that looked just like Boo and named him Boo. This was and still is my favorite game, nothing can replace it. Now time to dig threw a billion boxes to find the game, it does not belong in a box, it belongs on my desk and to be played
I love Minsc's ending, I find it incredibly deep and profound. And I shall give one of my favorite of his lines.... "Fear not! I will inspire you all by charging blindly on!"
Legends says that Minsc and Boo went to the stars, fusing into one entity and going to another adventure together to stop the Reapers along side with Commander Shepard.
I think that might be a spelljammer reference too. The 2e supplement for spelljammer actually did have giant space hamsters iirc (which is why I assumed Minsc was correct with the miniature giant space hamster :p)
@BGEndings In the end, there is really nothing left to imagine about the games. That takes away all the fun. It is the same thing about books made into movies : the movie versions end up sucking most of the time. I fear the age of great RPGs is ended :-( There might be a time in the future where the 3D will be astonishing and the graphical rendition so great we will have great RPGs again, but it will never be coming from our imagination (which is still the best medium for RPGs).
Proof that Boo was indeed a miniature giant space hamster and Minsc was truly favored by a Goddess. As he lived with Minsc for decades and a normal Hamster only lives a few years.
Pby my favorite character... kinda crazy, kinda dumb, but unquestionably lawful and ready for battle, in the name of good. Plus a very good melee guy I'm glad his ending is good Minsc forever
@TheGuyWhoKnewToMuch BG2 did a marvelous job at making you care about the characters, and I don't think any game has since quite duplicated that feeling of "We've been through much together" between the player and the group. It's like at the end of a great book, you just don't want to let go of the characters you've grown so close to.
@opiumthoughts I think what would be more fitting would be pretty much a 2 1/2D game. You know, having the same overhead view, but also being able to zoom to an extent, and rotate the camera. That would more or less preserve the nostalgic feeling and functionability of a 2D game, but be much more accessible to newer audiences, and more maneuverable to us veterans.
I've yet to find an rpg game that can immerse you in its tale up to a point where you, at its end, with tears in your eyes stand up to salute one brave ranger and his equally brave hamster Boo.
MInsc was the BEST character ever! You know, it's funny, Minsc and Imoen were pretty much with my party from the beginning of the first game. Great characters.
Like most other Baldur's Gate players, I've spent hundreds of hour playing this game, getting to know the characters, hearing their stories, knowing their mistakes and suffering from tragedies with them. To hear such a beautiful music and reading those stories and how they ended, makes me just incredibly sad and happy at the same time. In Love, Xaryxis, wizard and heir of Bhaal.
What of Boo? I'll tell you what happened to Boo: He spent his twilight years watching and judging the adventures of a young Commander Shepard, trekking the stars with a knowing squeak of approval.
Baldurs Gate series had probably the most fullfilling ending of ANY game I ever played. The ending text for each character was well written and at the same time told you everything you wanted to know about what happened to them, but at the same time leaving things open to your imagination, wondering in your head about the good stories that could be written about your favorite party members.
This is one of the best lines from the epilogues in the game. The other is the final line of the Imoen epilogue where she repeats the classic line from the start of Baldur's Gate.
Yes!!! And what's so amazing is that it doesn't at all cheapen this ending. If anything, it just makes Minsc's legend grow. And Boo's too, of course. ;)
The most important thing is to keep the rpg genre going. I'd like it very much if they made another big game in Baldur gate style with 2D graphic but with great art.
@BGEndings I don't think the problem is that 3d looks worse. It's more that a locked isometric view is much better for these kinds of games, yet all of the newer ones are trying to be third person and let you see all the details of the action. I think this is also why modern RPGs play much slower. Compare how fast a character swings their sword in BG2 to how fast they do it in NWN for a good example.
@opiumthoughts Well, never played that game, but you get the idea. And of course it would have more voice acting. If it were the same group in charge of the game as were for the Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale series, no doubt it would be chalk full of voice acting, to ensure the player is thoroughly entertained while playing it, and even has to replay it to experience the majority of the content. Even BG2, with 360 degree camera rotation alone, would make for a game twice as great.
@BGEndings: I agree. But if the art design is really good, 3d graphics work too. You should try out Drakensang and Drakensang 2, they remind me very much of Baldur's Gate (even though they're not D&D games).
@BGEndings even with dragon ages 1& 2 as well as nwn2 and all of its expansions, i still end up playing icewindale 2 more often than modern titles, weird.
Minsc was my favourite character. I am sad that Black Isle shut down.... And even sadder that the trilogy ended. I wish there were more games where you continue your journey with Minsc. Can you do a Sarevok ending?
@darken27 Ya sorta of like that game Torchlight have you played that? I enjoyed it but got old really fast. Not a very good comparison to what your talking about but I agree with you. But add more voice acting lol.
Thumbs up if you wish you could have a sequel where the children of the Bhaalspawn find out the fate of Minsc and Boo. Minsc is still my favorite NPC of any game.....
@BGEndings you know, i have been thinking about that.. Why is it that most 3D RPGs tend to suck and all. I think it has to do with the fact that a big part of what made a RPG a hit in the old days was the fact that it gave way to imagination. People who like RPGs tend to do so cause those games connect to their creativity and imagination. In 3D RPGs, we see everything right on the engine. The environment is there, the expressions of the characters when they speak (most of time awfully done) etc
I'll do so now. The endings I have uploaded so far are from the characters I used in my last playthrough that I still had the saved games for. I'll use Shadow Keeper or something.
I keep forgetting Minsc is a Ranger. I just slapped some plate mail on him, gave him the biggest sword I could find and let him and Boo go to town on the baddies! Go for the eyes, boo! Go for the EYES! RRAAAAAGHHHH *squeek squeek*
And what of Boo? Well, he eventually found his way onto the Normandy and became Commander Shepard's pet. After that? Who knows, maybe he'll return for the supposed Baldur's Gate 3 if the new Enhanced Editions go well =)
Came here while playing BG3 to reminisce about the way things ended in the previous episode with our pal Minsc. Forgot how incredible was the music btw.
"The two would never be separated, and some say they are together still, up amongst the stars where hamsters are giants and men become legends."
This must be one of the greatest sentences ever written, ever. Ever ever.
I'm from the future and I can confirmed
" Well, what is Minsc without Boo? The two would never be seperated, and some say they are together still, up amongst the stars where hampsters are giants and men become legends."
Chills are going up and down the back.
The Justice Fists made me laugh because that's EXACTLY what Minsc would have called his team...then the last line made me cry because it's too beautifully written.
He was definitely one of a kind. BG2's most unique character ever.
Reading this gave me feels. Loved this ending still. So fitting for a great character
"This behaviour must not continue. Feel the burning stare of my hamster and change your ways"
"allow me to inspire you, by charging blindly on!"
Strange how a fictional character can have such impact on people.
Reading the last sentence always makes me sad, becouse he followed your party trough the Whole Baldurs Gate story and was that "Odd but Awesome" hero.
:(

so whats "Jelboo" stand for?
God praise Jim Cummings that gave this character such life, Minsc wouldn't be the same without him.
Came here to pay tribute. The last line turned on the watermarks. Hail Minsc, your mighty berserker strength will not go unremembered!
lik dis if u cry evertim
My all time favorite game
and Minsc is my all time favorite NPC
I have not played Baldur's Gate 2 in at least 8 years
and forgotten how beautiful the ending was
*"You and Boo and I. Hamsters and rangers everywhere, rejoice!"*
The last sentence is just EPIC. :]
Minsc is such a great character.
And it's awesome how different everyone's lives go after the game.
Love it.
even after all this years, i still get tears in my eyes when i see the last sentence..
Minsc effected my life big time, when I played BG1 15 or so years ago, I got a hamster that looked just like Boo and named him Boo. This was and still is my favorite game, nothing can replace it. He has one of the best endings, along with Keldorn.
True. Minsc and Keldorn ending always makes my cry.
@godlessandlovingit and the fact that he is voiced by Jim Cummings, is just gravy on the side.
God dammit. This makes my cry every time.
A long time before Garrus Vakarian or Vernon Roche... there was a bro... a bro named Minsc.
Don't know is Minsc tops them. I mean in BG1 he attacks you just because you don't help him. I mean... what the fk?
@BGEndings In the end, there is really nothing left to imagine about the games. That takes away all the fun. It is the same thing about books made into movies : the movie versions end up sucking most of the time. where minsc goes evil stands aside!! :D
Thank you for your words. Almost as good as this epilogue itself.
Proof that Boo was indeed a miniature giant space hamster and Minsc was truly favored by a Goddess. As he lived with Minsc for decades and a normal Hamster only lives a few years.
Thanks for putting these up, really brings me back.
@Fand421
Impressive...but I counter with...
"Magic is impressive, but now Minsc leads. SWORDS FOR EVERYONE!"
Pby my favorite character... kinda crazy, kinda dumb, but unquestionably lawful and ready for battle, in the name of good. Plus a very good melee guy
I'm glad his ending is good
Minsc forever
fucking epic. simple as.
"There is safety in numbers. And I'm two or three at least."
@TheGuyWhoKnewToMuch

So long my greatest butt kicking friend. We shall meet again
@opiumthoughts

aahh we are all heroess. u and boo and i, hamsters and rangers, everywhere, rejoice.
I've yet to find an rpg game that can immerse you in its tale up to a point where you, at its end, with tears in your eyes stand up to salute one brave ranger and his equally brave hamster Boo.
Minsc is awsome was my favorite character throughout BGII and BGI. I eventually get my own Hamster or Ice weasel, whatever minsc says.....ha!
Magic is impressive, but now Minsc leads! Swords for everyone!
MInsc was the BEST character ever! You know, it's funny, Minsc and Imoen were pretty much with my party from the beginning of the first game. Great characters.
and boo finally became a giant space hamster. yayyyyyyy!
it seems no matter what, i always get liked on my comments. no offense.
Like most other Baldur's Gate players, I've spent hundreds of hour playing this game, getting to know the characters, hearing their stories, knowing their mistakes and suffering from tragedies with them. He disappeared, most likely got trapped with a Beholders Maze spell and will emerge in a few hundred years. ;-)
@BGEndings
Oh hell yea, the Icewind Dale games looked just awesome on the infinity engine.
Feel the burning stare of mah HAMSTAAAH!!!
"Ahh we are all heroes, Warriors, Rangers, WIzards! Rejoice!"
rest in peace legend, friend..
I don't know why, but this ending makes me cry every time. :(

That's is how great RPG is made. It tells you enough so you can imagine your own adventure.
This is one of the best lines from the epilogues in the game. The other is the final line of the Imoen epilogue where she repeats the classic line from the start of Baldur's Gate.
"Hey, its me Imoen!"
He's still alive!!! Baldurs gate 3
Yes!!! And what's so amazing is that it doesn't at all cheapen this ending. If anything, it just makes Minsc's legend grow. And Boo's too, of course. ;)
"And then......Minsc took another hit on the head and became Sane"
XD
Dammit this ending gave me chills and man tears comparable to the end of T2:JD.
A cherry on top of an amazing saga!
GO FOR THE EYES BOO, GO FOR THE EYES!!!!!
Minsc Will lead with blade and boot. Boo will take care of the details...
Minsc is da biggest an' da strongest. WAAAGH!
The most important thing is to keep the rpg genre going. I'd like it very much if they made another big game in Baldur gate style with 2D graphic but with great art.
Minsc has been that ranger I´ve always needed for my party! :)
*single tear
I just love the last sentence. It's everything I wanted for those two.
*sniffle*
Perfect ending
Minsc+Boo is the Beast/Best Duo of Buttkicking for Goodness ! ! !
@josch85 yup, me too... and this was the only game where i ever cried at the ending (charactes ending + music..)
@BGEndings I don't think the problem is that 3d looks worse. I think this is also why modern RPGs play much slower. Compare how fast a character swings their sword in BG2 to how fast they do it in NWN for a good example.
Man I wish Bioware would remake this game with updated graphics keep the story. Would be epic.
"Minsc and Boo stand ready."
Minsc needs his own game.
@opiumthoughts
Well, never played that game, but you get the idea.

The background drawings the infinity games had, had ten-TWENTY times more souls and atmosphere then Dragon age.
Boo is alive ! He is selling on the citadel in mass effect 2
@BGEndings: I agree. But if the art design is really good, 3d graphics work too. You should try out Drakensang and Drakensang 2, they remind me very much of Baldur's Gate (even though they're not D&D games).
misc was one of my favorite characters if not my favorite i almost cried when i first read this LOL

Minsc and Boo better be in BG3
@brisun100 Unfortunately there is no more Bhaalspawn at the end of Throne of Bhaal.
We point. He punches.
who DOESNT love Minsc?
Edwin?
@darken27 Ya sorta of like that game Torchlight have you played that? I enjoyed it but got old really fast. Not a very good comparison to what your talking about but I agree with you. But add more voice acting lol.
Thumbs up if you wish you could have a sequel where the children of the Bhaalspawn find out the fate of Minsc and Boo. Minsc is still my favorite NPC of any game.....
minsc's ending almost made me cry
@17thknight Constant chills...
warm feels
hand him Lilarcor the blade with a mouth and you have an ANNOYING AS HELL YET AWESOME AS CHUCK NORRIS endless-talking uber-killing machine!!!
Go for the eyes, Boo! Go for the eyes! *squeak*
(': Minsc was my favourite character by far.
Go for the eyes boo. GOOOOOO FOR THE EYES! RAAAAAASC!
One of the greatest character in an RPG
I cant imagine playing BG without Minsc. Well, one exception - when I played all-mage party in BG2, it was difficult to kepp non-mage classes alive.
That's spot on.
@BGEndings you know, i have been thinking about that.. Why is it that most 3D RPGs tend to suck and all. Best and Funniest NPC EVER!!!

Gives me chills
The anventures of a ranger and his mineture giant space hamster. I would play a game if it was just boo and minsc.
Came here while playing BG3 to reminisce about the way things ended in the previous episode with our pal Minsc.
Forgot how incredible was the music btw.
