Absolutely brilliant Nick 👏 I wanna say he is underrated in grappling and wrestling but he is just so good with great instincts. Yer a young goat my friend 👏 🏆 👊
Nice vid, thanks for sharing! As Nick stated, the kimura is his fav submission although he frequently employs the upside down guard during his fights! : )
Nick and Nate are two of the toughest fighters I have ever seen. They are just flat out tough and never, ever quit fighters. That being said, the technique to get the kimura or double wrist lock in place was not thorough. Go to Mark Hatmaker, and he will show you how to get that on more successfully. There are two steps missing other than just basing down and sticking you hand through. You could see in the video, the guy was not trying to stop him from getting his hand through. Had he, Nick would have probably beat him to death. Did I say the guy is scary tough? He has enough endurance and tenacity to get it hooked up that way. For the more human, you need a tad better technique. Again, I do not know Mark Hatmaker personally, but I have trained with him once before and he showed that very technique and how to get you hand through. It made it so much easier for the more human of us. Again, for the record, I am a Nick Diaz and Nate Diaz fan. I think to many men have become soft. They can take an ass whooping for 10 minutes, until you hands go numb from hitting them, and then they will break you into. They wear professional fighters out mentally by absorbing all the punishment they can dish out and are still ready to fight when most of us would have passed out from exhaustion.
Gripping with no thumb. I can't get my brain to work in that sense. I'm use to gripping with the thumb, like a baseball bat grip. I really need to break that habit. Thumbs up as always. I always see something new every time I watch this.
I’ve used limits in various scenarios in wrestling and martial arts. Coach called it a hammer lock back in high school. The difference is that you can’t keep cranking against the elbow to dislocate like in MMA. You can also perform this from ground if your opponent has his hands around you when on your hands and knees. Loop the elbow and lock it like he did. You might have to use your head and/or shoulder to stay stable as you get the lock secure. Then Beek the grip, lift the arm out and back keeping the elbow straight. From here you can either step up and finish or hip heist out the side you have control and keep pressure on his upper arm until you come around. Maintain pressure and leverage all the way through.
Prob the best video I’ve ever watched on TH-cam. How many idiots try to grab you from behind. I showed my 11 year old son be a pimp in the playground if some ass clown grabs you.
Gran enseñanza. Gracias por la explicación, Sakuraba tb tiene un video explicando esta técnica, pero en Japones no entiendo nada. Muchas gracias por esta explicación.
They should rename this move "the Sakuraba" just as how "the kimura" was named after the defeat of Helio. Seriously Saku has made this move work more then anyone i've ever seen especially from behind. Everytime someone gets his back standing or on the ground, he's nullified them by just holding that position and he's even broken an amazing gracies' arm with that move on Renzo. Diaz is good but no one has even come close to half the attempts and successful attempts that Saku has accomplished.
watch sakuraba fight he hits it all the time even if he gets suplexed on his head he just keeps a hold of the arm and dogs the reverse figure4 till he gets it its an excelent back defence.
The picture quality from this vid is REALLY good considering it's from 2008. I woulda expected 99% of internet vids from this era to be at around 360p, but this footage legit looks like could have been shot just last week.
This doesn't really work from a self defense perspective if someone grabs you from behind. It is near impossible to break a grip that easy. Especially with that kimura style grab. Seriously try it.
@gogosandomos absolutely. weed doesnt do loong term damage like alcohol and pills do, in fact you can actually benefit for it. in bjj you have to relax, and find your way to a submission. its all strategy. weed helps with that cause it can create creative and relaxed minds. thats why eddie bravo is accomplished in bjj, so is nick in mma and bj penn is known to be a pothead too, that explains his mad bjj skills.
Interesting. I saw Matt Serra demonstrate a similar move years later at one of the Gracie schools. He did a variation of this from a headlock position, assuming the opponent didn't know much jitz.
First time I ve heard Nick sounding so articulated. Great teacher. See you soon back in the octagon Nick.
Would love to learn from nick.... He grew up teaching nate I bet he would be a fantastic teacher
He's still not back.
Really?! You must not have followed him. Only time he sounds dumb is in interviews cos he hates pc
Nick sounds normal...it's nate who sounds like shit when he talks

Nick is either huge or that guy is really small
Don’t be scared homie
Asians are usually quite small.
Well he is like 6'1. That other guy us like 5'7
6 foot tall is pretty big
Nate looks big because he’s at his walk around weight and also he’s just tall.
@@adaptiveagile nick is 1 inch taller then nate but i know what you mean
Nick Díaz es mi peleador favorito, por su personalidad, y por su grandes técnicas. GRANDE NICK!!!
Nice demo...short and too the point. Too many guys out here waffle on for minutes before even teaching the technique.
Nick & Nate are the real deal, no BS strait to the point all business! I'd love to roll w these guys
Any video with Nick is worth watching. My favourite ever fighter! ❤️
Absolutely brilliant Nick 👏 I wanna say he is underrated in grappling and wrestling but he is just so good with great instincts. Yer a young goat my friend 👏 🏆 👊
Good to see Nick in that environment teaching. All the haters should see more videos like this.
Alright now that i know this technique I'm going to fight khabib 😂😂
Nice vid, thanks for sharing! As Nick stated, the kimura is his fav submission although he frequently employs the upside down guard during his fights! : )
Hope you are alive and kicking.
Nick Diaz is outrageous man! Mucho love Nick! Can't wait for your comeback!
This could come in handy in a street fight situation when some idiot tries to grab you from behind.
+mosshark id just break their fingers bro
lol right
will dasd Not so easy if fingers are tucked and your guts are big squeezed but if he has one just sticking out grab it
in street fight yu can use ur head to punch his nose when yu are grapped
JDMH you can always tell when a 12 year old makes a comment because they put a bunch of insults in a row 😂 “wannabe tough guy fucking idiot”
That was Sakuraba's go-to move and why he would happily give up his back so often. Real nice explanation from Diaz tho.
That Stockton Style is still the coolest. Diaz Bros. rock.
Love watching him instruct- in the top 5 fighters ever -

This is exactly why you don't f*** with the Diaz brothers.
i like how the new way of tapping out is by snapping your finger =] great move!!!
Awesome. Post more. More Diaz!!
Nick when you're ready to return to figth mann 😁✌️👍
wow, you got nick diaz to show you a move, great stuff, thanks a lot!
Great ! I am a Nick Diaz fan.
Diaz brothers will go down as the greatest fighters ever!
Whenever I see that, reminds me of Kazushi Sakuraba fights.
The wrestler might think he is in a better position form behind like that, but trickery wins the day.
It works best if someone has never seen it. Every time I would land it I would hear "I thought I had your back!"
Gripping with no thumb. I can't get my brain to work in that sense. I'm use to gripping with the thumb, like a baseball bat grip. I really need to break that habit. Thumbs up as always. I always see something new every time I watch this.
That was some cool shit to know right there boys and girls
Wow Diaz is really smart, I saw some other videos of the same thing, but they missed a lot of stuff.
Nick should've taught this to Renzo Gracie before he fought Sakuraba. Now it's too late.
This was enough to make me subscribe
Kimuras are majestic

Nick a;ways finishes Kimuras by walking to the other side. I'm gonna mess with that this week. Cool vid!
fuckin right on, good shit to know, thx nick!
Thats Sakuraba move vs Renzo gracie.
Diaz brothers are love.
Oldest comment I found so far. Hope your not dead. Or a trans.
Didáctico y breve. Como debe ser. Gracias
coolest way of tapping
Sober Nick Diaz was great.

People think the diaz’s slur is because they get hit. They just dont give af about that interview so they mumble.

groovy nick
knuckles to back of fist releases most grips too
This is excellent!

The kimura is such a well known move in many arts , but I hardly ever see it used in UFC .
It gives the guy behind good leverage to suplex you,u can hit it on average guys but good guys will punnish you for, watch Rory Mcdonald vs Nate Diaz
Nice, very clear instructions.......I'm going to try this on my Rotthuahua.
i have only heard of the mythical snap-tap. this is the first evidence of its existence that has been documented. thank you
This is Sakuraba's signature move
"Snapout" is a trademark of DamageControlMMA all rights reserved.
i like the "jazz tap out" snap them fingers
Nick Diaz is the real ninja

Nice, thank you sir
Kool video of battle rapper Tantrum getting put in a Kimura by Nick Diaz.
So freaking tight
Francis Ngannou just hit this over the weekend.
Love me some Diaz Bros.
Id love to fly across the pond, have a smoke and learn from this dude
This vid ain’t from 2008. Too good of quality

Sakuraba made this famous back in the Pride Days.
@somekindofmadman pretty sure he got the kimura when nog was already down, this one was the move Sakuraba broke Renzo's arm with
I personally prefer the dark souls roll from this position...
Even in his element, it’s easy to see how shy and awkward Nick is in front on the camera. Miss that dude tons in the cage!
never really noticed but nick is a pretty big guy
Sakuraba is none other than Billy's top students. He's a Japanese Catch wrestler.
Nick Diaz’s army
how do you get him to give up his grip on his shorts when trying to get the kimura?
Brute strength! it's two arms against one you should win in the end but it helps to be stronger
Take the hand grabbing your own and grip break with inner forearm blade of muscle
I'll have to try that.

So what happens if you have the kimura while your opponent has your back, but you can't break his grip and force him to the ground?

The Diaz brothers!!!!!!

the asian dude makes nate look huge... anyway love the vids. keep posting!
thx Nick
Brilliant
Trying this in jujitsu tomorrow...judo guess always take my back standing...not anymore 👌🏻😂
I think id be tapping as opposed to clicking if I was rolling with Nick Diaz
That was a Karo Parisyan move!
