My husband just what you were doing, reaching under a ledge for a lobster...who was sharing his hidey hole with a green moray eel. Two sliced fingers and 16 stitches later in a rough clinic, yes we was wearing gloves, and he was lucky to have kept his fingers.

You two are more fun to watch. My wife and I really enjoy your videos and the happiness and fun you have. We live in the Pacific Northwest close to Idaho so seeing the beautiful shots of the ocean is really fun. We don't watch many videos but came across you two and now we're addicted. I'm 76 and my wife is 68 so we won't be doing what you are but we really have fun watching you two. Enjoy your journey and go make memories.

You need a pinch of chilli powder to add that zest to your dip. It is a real flavour enhancer and if you accidently add too much you can neutralise the acidity with a touch of sugar/grated palm suger. These are easy to keep fresh on a yacht. Plus I do a lot of vegetarian food using a small Fissler pressure cooker on an alcohol stove to make terrific food from dried goods. Perfect for stormy seas, even if it falls, no matter, pick it up and keep cooking. No spill no mess and best of all hot food when it is too rough for conventional cooking.

Sabiki rigs work well to catch squid. Sometimes they hook so you may have to net them once they grab the rig.

Hope all is well on your end. This is John and Darcy on Kindred Spirit. We had touched base with you on Bequia at the Fig Tree Christmas and also Grenada. Enjoy your videos. Not sure if this was the cause of the drone crash, but the area you were filming is a "no fly zone" for drones as it is the landing approach for the Bequia airport. Mine also took a digger..... Looks like you enjoyed Bequia! Sail on and Godspeed.

A light weight 6foot rod with a small reel and 6lb line is all you need for squid, a yozuri squid jig works great 3or 4 inch long version in green or pink work well. the same light rod with small lures or bait will also work for shallow water fishing off the boat use as little weight as possible cheers

That's a super easy fix, don't ditch it, you can get anything you need for repairs on Ebay. After my last crash the only thing good was the electronics, needed new body, gimbal arms, landing gear, gimbal cable and antennas. From the quick shot in the video it looks like you only broke the retainer pins for the gimbal?

I visited the Moonhole in 1995 on a charter out of St. Vincent. We signed up for tour from the Johnstons with two cruising couples. The tour ended at their Tiki bar on the crest of the peninsula's ridge. The Atlantic was on one side and the Caribbean was on the other. We had our complimentary cocktails and were treated to a show from the Johnston's trained gecko. The gecko would come down from the palms to drink what you set out for him. Best charter ever. Also went to Petit St. Vincent ($800 EC dinner!), Tobago Keys, Mayreau, Mustique. What a place!

I used to catch squid in Nantucket when I was younger I lived on Nantucket from 1970 to 2013 we used to catch them under the Nantucket anglers club we would turn the lights on to the weigh in station there and the squid would come in to the light. .have a funny story about that I'll share, one night under the weigh station I was pulling a squid up to the surface and these very well dress couple asked me what do I have on the line and I told them a squid and the husband as if he could see it and when I pulled it up and it squirted it's ink and went all over the lady's white dress and the husband started to laughing so hard well she left him right there and ran back to there yacht. he said it wasn't my fault and said have a good night boys and left to his yacht I think I was 10ish anyway thought you mint enjoy that squiding adventure.

Use good rubber gloves so the spines dnt get u an watch out for erchints they hurt lol but we never use tickle sticks or look on rocks or structure sand spots better in our opinoin. I loved the video, the music and transitions and your mix of content. We also sail with a dog and show sailing our new catamaran on TH-cam for our family and friends. If you go to French Islands, a Pet passport can be useful - the vets like it to prepare export papers, although so far checking into the French Islands is easiest. For St. Lucia the type of rabies vaccine is important. They want it to be live attenuated, which is not what was used in the USA. So we go our dog re-vaccinated in France before heading to the Caribbean. They are also going to check rabies titre results as well the rest that is required. I hope you make it back to the boat and stay safe! BioTrek-sailing

I was actually going to ask you about squid and then I saw the end of the video.
Squid jags are cheap, easy to get and deadly on squid. Just get a variety of sizes and colors as they can be finicky.
Very very easy to catch most of the time and having a light out the back to attract bait fish will make it easier again. Probably worth throwing out a lure or metal slice beyond the light as well as there may be bigger predators lurking out there.
