Its Wildcard… you might as well leave a memo for your great great grandchildren because they are the ones who will finally see what Wildcard is working on. I love Ark but Wildcard is literally the most incompetent development studio I have ever had the displeasure of being a customer of.
You have to keep in mind that ever since Snail games have gotten involved they don’t allow the devs to have open convos with us anymore which really hurts the games brand. Furthermore Snail is all about the money not the end users.
Wildcard can't even make a dlc on time. This seems like alot for wildcard to do and at this point I have zero confidence they can pull 10% of this stuff off.
I 100% agree with you. But for some reason, and maybe I’m wrong but with how much they are pushing this “upgrade” makes me believe this is what they have been working on this whole time instead of Ark 2. Not saying that Ark 2 isn’t gonna happen but it’s just odd that this is going to supposedly be available for release in June of this year.
@@andrewfetter4843 you cant import all of the Old code so they have to rewrite a lot but I’m not having it ark said 20$ then they said 40$ and then said 60$
Yeah, the expansion better be Arat Prime. I remember hearing so much about that for extinction. Give us how we got on the colony ship, because that’s one of the biggest holes in the game lore
@@Mrcarroot Transluminal uplink on the surface of earth connected to the colony ship. He goes there but you did not. The person you play was a colonist that woke early. Apparently, the colony ship had terrible internet security.
Half of these seem to be issues that should have been addressed ages ago. Should I really be excited to work with building features that work? More character customization? Why wasn't this already in the game. Part of an early access game is the expectation that they will makes QoL changes like the above.
It wasn't already in the game because the engine wasn't capable, that's been explained countless times. UE5 is capable of implementing these things... previous engine wasn't.
Because Wild Card couldn't program a light switch without fucking it up. This is like buying a new car and the engine blows 10 miles down the road. The manufacturer promises to fix the problem, but then decides to just replace the car and bill you full price for it. "Oh but we're throwing in some extras. That's why we're billing you twice for the same car."
@@mickyblue9658 not so much that, but the devs messed up when originally making the game and made it much too difficult for them to incorporate that stuff
Everything you said in the video fill me with hope and joy. Then .. I remember being with Wild Card since launch😑 I have heard these promises before sadly.
@@ahmadmuraish1144 lol right we have to repurchase Ark so they can pay Raas. No He is a glass half full person. My Gran was like that never got upset just smiled and said "being upset gets you nothing".
I’ll buy it IF it goes on sale. Nothing can convince me that making us buy the game again isn’t at least a little scummy when a free upgrade was promised. But i understand this is technically a “fair price” for a NEW game. As in, for new players is actually a really good price for a game, especially for a new-gen game.
Yea but you get all the dlc with it, I understand we already paid for it. But yk the creators deserve payement for the work they put into making the remaster, hopefully they drop a in depth video analysis of the new features / gameplay before we have to buy it to see if it’s worth our money. If they actually listen to the fans concerns and make the game 100x better than outdated ark 1 I wouldn’t mind paying 50$ 60$ for it again
@@zgbenzz the creators WILL deserve payment ONLY if they actually remaster and improve the game. WC is no stranger to false promises, as evident by recent events. I am completely on board with buying the game if it’s good, but not if it’s another scam
As sad as it is that old ark servers are being sunsetted i am a glad for the newer technology to bring new life to ARK. It is such an incredible game and deserves more optimization, features and less limitations. I am excited for this version and it will hold me over till ARK II
@@VerTProductionss Except it's not the same game. Unreal engine 5 upgrade and new systems and mechanics in the game which they are going to test for preperation for Ark 2
basically due to community backlash their response was to They separated the two games into separate entries both costing 60-80$ each. the math works great, the old bundle would have been 90$ for both ark 2 and the remaster, old deal: 90$ for both the next game and the remaster update and DLC, or 50$ without DLC new deal: 120-130 depending on ark 2 launch price, both games have to be bought separately and now DLC is a hard requirement if you want to buy it. -Pika
The problem isn’t how worth it it is it is the fact that a lot of people won’t be able to afford it or have a new gen console due to the large price tag
@@Raasclark I will do as I please thnx. Just as you are free to do. It's not our fault we see the problems going on and like to point them out as opposed to pretending they don't exist like some

Rock drakes will most likely have proper pathing and won't constantly get stuck between rocks making transfers the blue and red zone much more scary or harder
Empty promises. Yes it will be "better" but remember it's studio wild card. When have they delivered anything on time? Also, to be blunt, remember this channel pretty much relies on Ark. Many Ark channels are saying to trust this company and this product that we have not seen any footage or content about. I say this as someone who had sunked much time and money on the game and dlcs and servers. We get no upgrade path beside just rebuy the game you already have
SHOULD be worth it. Those are excellent reasons, if WildCard makes good on its promises... but understandably, a lot of us are in a wait & see mood right now. I would potentially add reason n°6 : having the same engine opens the possibility for ASA and ARK2 to share some assets (or more). I've seen many people say that there is no point to ASA if ARK2 [supposedly] launches a year and a half after it. But we don't know what bridges will be built. And I certainly hope that making those two games in such close technological proximity gives WildCard ideas that go far beyond giving us a hatchet skin.
I'm just not sure if he's being serious or doing this for future memes sake like 6 months ago or whenever, what was it E3? Either way, this certainly isn't gonna blow up in his face again...
@@abominablesnowman64 I find a bit sad to believe that there is nothing to say that isn't negativity or memes. Since ASA is the near future of the franchise, it is also worth exploring what its upsides might be. That doesn't mean blind optimism, just that fulltime pessimism is not sustenable nor enjoyable.
@@leagueofdead569 I did not say anything that contradicts that. My point is more that given that they share an engine and will be released relatively soon one after the other, it's possible that we could see, I don't know, for instance a dino being used the same way in both. Not one version of the dino in ASA and another version of the same species in ARK2, but exactly the same one. It seems technologically feasible and would make the transition from one game to the next (aka an incentive) smooth for players.
I just can't wait for this to come out, so I can finally use mods and hopefully make a character the way I truly want them to look. Plus I don't mind if ark 2 is set back till 2025
Many anticipate ark 2 to come out late 2026, early 2027. Based on their previous release timetables, the fact they are still only at concept art stage, etc.
I can’t lie. I’m not a fan at all of how Wildcard has done business in the past, but I can’t act like none of us wouldn’t be saying any of this if Jeremy Stieglitz hadn’t of made that Twitter post… If we really get an entire new game’s worth of content added with ASA and we actually get an ARK that works correctly, I can be excited about this. I was never expecting ARK II to be cheap anyway if they were trying to make their own God of War-level game. As long as they keep their word in supporting ASA for years with new content, and it running like ARK was intended to, AND they don’t have any major delays. I say let them make their money.
What a comment. ‘But I can’t act like none of us wouldn’t be saying any of this if Jeremy Stieglitz hadn’t of made that Twitter post’. Yeah… because the outrage initially was because they said one thing and then did another… like Wild Card has always done because of Snail Games. Making that remark just shows a lack of understanding. It is unironically the same thing as, “Well I feel like if Joe hadn’t of lied to us then nobody would be talking about him lying to us.” No shit Sherlock. I can see how companies like this continue to get paid for doing this kind of shit now.
Well there is one thing on that list of wants that Wildcard will probably fail with...we all know delays are going to happen. By now I have adjusted to it sadly.
Wild card is making clowns of everyone with this. They never even finished optimizing ark as promised in the first place. Now they are making you pay for it a second time.... This also comes right as snail games is caught red handed abusing the admin powers to permanently ban 94 members of a tribe for doing pvp against a tribe with snail game employees in it.... Don't be a fool people. On top of that not putting any form of warning on the steam page or anything else to let potential new ark buyers that the evolved variant of the game will have 0 public servers in just a few months is shady at best. I really can't believe we have people patting these guys on the back for charging them 1x for a buggy mess, never finishing said buggy mess before forcing you to purchase it a second time if you want to play on public servers. Many of the upgrades being spoken about are borderline passive upgrades the engine does with minimal work from the studio to implement. Plus THEY ALREADY ANNOUNCED IT TO BE A FREE UPGRADE then went back on their word and charge you for it. This entire situation is shady and scummy at best. I remember people outraged about paid mods for Bethesda games just a couple years ago now you people are patting them on the back for it.... As someone who's spent so much of his child and even adult life in this industry this type of scummy actions from developers being normalized is truly upsetting for me honestly. As a side note and not trying to be mean but not sure i trust this channel for gaming info or advice if now since they are literally the only channel ive seen praising the way wild card and snail games have handled this so wont be watching this channel anymore i dont think.
This needed to be said. The reaction to the new Ark news was disappointing, but the direction they're headed in is really promising! We can always rely on Raas to be a positive light in the community 👏👏
Ark has always been very promising. As someone who was there when there was just like 10 dinos, wildcard has never ever ever hit their deadlines. The adverse reactions are not only because the players have to pay for everything again, but probably because we have to pay, but everything is still late/delayed, which follows suit since literally day 1. It's nice and cute to think that wildcard has changed and this will be amazing. Who knows, maybe it will be. But if the process hasn't changed (being late and making huge changes on the fly) why should anyone think the product will be any better, which again, we have to pay for the things we already bought. My hats off to this channel for his success. But he started it at the end of arks life. Anyone there from the beginning knows what I mean by "the end of arks life". The absolute only hope I think that the remastered ark has going for it, is everyone knows how the game ends. We know the updates are mostly done, new dinos and maps added. So we will have mega tribes from the get go and people will know how to deal with life in ark while everyone is on an even playing field....for a few hours. The absolute biggest thing it needs to do, is fix meshing and no duping. If there is any form of meshing in this remastered edition, I feel it crashing and burning fast.
@Argentavis House sheep for willingly getting screwed and supporting WC thru this nonsense. If everyone buys it, they’re going to keep abusing the herd. 🐑
To fix the optimization and engine related issues you pretty much have to re-code everything. At that point you might as well put it on the new engine. It’s pretty much like trying to upgrade a notebook, you can but it’s more work than it’s worth
ITS LIKE FIRING A 10 YEAR EMPLOYEE BCUZ THE NEW GUY IS YOUNGER FASTER AND HES NOT HERE YET BUT WHEN HE DOES GOODBYE ....old fart and it's bugs leaves into the shadows he never missed a day of work he was not perfect but he made it happen RIP ARK GROVE STREET THANK YOU FOR THE FREE LIFE SUPPORT ON THE NINTENDO SWITCH like I said we love the old guy he will be missed
I wish we can one day just return to ark the island and play in small tribes just tame dinos and have funn living in stone and wood bases no tech stuff etc. Thats what was truly fun in early days of ark, i wish ark 2 doesnt loose that spirit
I play on PC at 4K with all graphics maxed out in single player getting around 80-90 fps so for now it's not really a priority or a concern to switch, I might consider it at the end of 2024-2025 when all the maps will be added and sales might be popping out at around -33%/-50%
They should give all current ark owners a redeemable code to get the upgrade completely free but only make it redeemable for like a week. Let the player base that's been here and stayed and is excited for it get it, then if the hype is that real, the money will come after.
My excitement is tempered by all the times wildcard has let me down somewhat in the past with delays and bugs. My wife plays single player on xbox since it's launch and has always wanted mods. For her it will come down to how difficult it is for solo play with mods on console.
You have to be kidding. Not a mention of how they are going to charge us again to play basically the same game with some improvements. We will even have to buy the same dlc's all over again. You must think we all came down with the last shower. How much they paying you to shill this blatant rip off?
As the devs have already stated, the DLC's will be automatically included in the purchase of ASA and come with the game right off the bat. The original plan was to just do graphical updates and then give it to everyone for free, but they found out that doing so would break alot of things like most mods etc, for people who would want to keep ark as is, and with the number of system overhauls and changes that ended up included in the upgrade, they had to change from doing a free upgrade to this paid remaster Its not like ark is the first game to do this, and with everything I've seen, it seems they are doing their best to bring about things in the best way for the players yea having to rebuy the game sucks a little, but paying only 60 for the entire new game with all the new features and all of the DLC maps isn't as bad as it could have been or as it originally seemed to be, and also keeps Survival Evolved available to those who don't want to upgrade and just want to continue with their singleplayer or unofficial playthrough undisturbed. edit: By the way, why would he heart an almost paranoid/conspiracy theorist post, falsely accusing him of being a shill when likely he is just trying to look on the bright side of things?
@Vovk Strilka just spread your cheeks lol the company is railing you 🤣 your not getting a new game your getting the same game with minor upgrades lol not worth 60 bucks especially it you already own the game but hey if you want to lick those boots have at it
I am newer to this community, both Raas's channel and ARK itself, and from what I can tell it seems the devs are trying to be trendy more than providing a game that their player base wants. First we got ARK that was like all the other survival games (DayZ, Seven Days to Die, Rust, Minecraft, ect.) but with dinos instead of zombies. Then when Battle Royals became all the rage they created a battle royal, but with dinos. Now that big story based games like God of War, Horizen: Zero Dawn, The Last of Us 2, and LoZ: Breath of the Wild are being released and being very popular they're trying to make ARK 2 in that image instead. The devs seem to not know what its community wants and is trying to gain new players by playing into gimmicks (which is not just a problem with Wildcard but with a lot of other game companies) and failing either side. I'm sure there's a market for a dinosaur battle royal, just as there is for a dinosaur survival crafting game. Trying to give both at the same time, however, spreads the dev team thin and ideas can get muddied along the way. When there was a backlash (before the current one going on) when it was announced that ARK 2 was going to be a completely different style of game, I believe that Wildcard said "Oh shoot, this isn't what they wanted and we've spent many resources to scrap the game. We need a back up plan." So, now they've split the team once again for ASA and ARK 2 which is why they don't have material for either game. I'm glad that they're going to keep the original ARK alive with ASA and I think the price changes make sense (as well as not bundling ASA and ARK 2 together). I'm not sure what to expect in all honestly.
That are trying to branch out to appeal to gamers who play OTHER genre of games to make make people more aware of the ARK franchise and other Ark products they have available that they can bundle together etc... No one should be taking it personally because they only like survival games. But you are right. Ark 2 does not have the Ark 1 player base in mind. That is why they decided to continue on with Ark 1.
@@ReadR00ster1 I agree people shouldn't take it personally that they want to branch out. Its the best thing to bring players to ARK in general other than marketing (Ads, sponsorships, crossover events with other games ect.) I think the bigger problem is the indecisiveness the company has when it comes to development. My point is they should pick something and stick with it. From what I can tell Wildcard has issues with developing things on time and that could be due to a number of reasons, but I understand why the community would not have high hopes when they're making ASA and ARK 2 at the same time when they can't roll out DLC on time when that's PROBABLY the only thing they're working on at that moment.
I don't recall any battle royals being all the rage when ark did theirs. I do remember that type of game gaining in popularity over the next 2 years after wildcard scrapped theirs.
@@_goodnight2075 yea, Survival of the fittest came out in 2015. battle royale games starting gaining popularity after fortnite released in 2017, which in and of itself, seems like it was heavily influenced by PUBG which came out earlier that year.
ASA personally sounds like Ark 2 to me, an xbox player. Modding for xbox means unlimited options for all, a united player base with the power of the people, I would even go as far as to say ark 2 should be called ark 3
I REALLY hope that the new canon dlc is earth after extinction. We would literally get to see the entire wasteland covered in plants and creatures, with no traces of corruption and bad element left. Also, they’d probably add side areas with the other canon maps (island, scorched and ab) I really wanna see aberration without a burnt-to-a-crisp surface
I just want to point out that under the current offer Ark 2 has to be 30 or less otherwise we are paying the same amount or more. Old deal was ASA, DLC, Ark 2 for 90 all together. Current offer is ASA and all DLC for 60. Something to keep in mind. I have no issue supporting the devs by paying for more content but it needs to be legitimate content for the price point with significant gameplay updates. Also the way they're going about things is shady and the latest offer is still shady because they're just trying to obfuscate the amount of money the consumer is spending.
Regardless of what happens, I reckon the devs are doing a pretty good job specially considering how much they've pulled off in the last decade. Very excited to see what ASA brings
7 Reasons why Ark Survival Ascended Is Not Worth It: 1- They said it was going to be free 2- No one asked for it 3- Other devs have upgraded their games to UE5 FOR FREE 4- We are not getting any new content/gameplay that we don't already have right now 5- We have to wait for maps to be released over a year, that we already have access to right now 6- We don't know if the game is going to work and/or play any better than it already does 7-People who already own the game right now don't know if their computers will be able to handle the game in UE5.
I prefer your positive perspective on this Raas. Don't let the hate get to you. Its ok to have different views than jade and still be friends. I'm for one excited for all the improvements this offers especially bug fixes. All the people who complained for 8 years for wildcard to fix the game, Well here it is. If you still play ark after 8 years of complaining about bugs then here is Arks saving grace. Because the way its looking, ark 2 wont be much like ark 1 , same genre but very different goals. Yeah we have to pay for it but that's capitalism, people deserve to be paid for their work. Unpopular opinion maybe but most of them will buy it in a few months time anyway. Keep up the good work Raas and see you all on the new island map
Rip official, good times with mates on broken ark and my high level characters but cant wait for the new game its sad to leave the past behind though 😢
I understand it’s your job and main game you play but I expected you to be more in line with the community and support us. We need your help not making excuses for them. Still love and will support you but this sucks. Jade and Nooblets told it how it is. They basically admitted they have absolutely nothing for ark two! Remember when we were promised game play the next time we seen ark2? I know you do 👒. Thank you for the amazing content!
Yup feel like I covered this perspective with last week's vid "Why Does Everyone Hate ARK?". But I felt I had displayed enough reasons against it, that a look at reasons for it was needed. Appreciate we all won't see eye to eye on this though, and that's cool!
Arks community can be toxic I'm so glad the monarky community can disagree so strongly and still be civil and honestly I'm still pissed at wildcard for not giving us anything tangible and due to that this video means nothing to me because for now it's just empty promises from wildcard but like u said ill still be here to support raas and the monarks because I truly appreciate the community and I still love playing Ark I hope I made sense 💗
@@Raasclark I agree there has been too much negativity. I am optimistic Ark SA will be a significantly different experience than Ark SE in a good way. But I can understand the skepticism there. I what I can't agree with is the call for boycotts and trying to convince people not to buy Ark because they are upset and have hurt feelings towards the Devs. The Devs are who they are. Punishing them is only capable of possibly killing the Ark franchise off punishing the entire community by depriving them of more content. So hopefully everyone just puts the politicking aside and let's everyone's wallet just do the speaking.
@@Raasclark you content is clean and reasonable so don't feel like thus guy speaks for all of us. I personally found this new Asa a breath of fresh air with many new cool enhancements.
I have to disagree. I watched Nooblets and his vid was negitive and bias to his opinion as well. Also just because the people on discord or reddit are whining doesn't mean they speak for the community in whole. I'm an original player, I played since first month of beta and I've been through multiple wipes and have restarted countless times, so for those upset about the loss..meh it's ark and it'll just be more fun getting new stuff. And for those mad about the cost? Wildcard doesn't make games just for your pleasure, this is a company and it's only reasonable that they would need funds to produce newer content. If people would read they would have seen for the April 1st crunch that this was way more than a simple update, and that is exciting.
WC are mad. They should have just charged 69.99 for ARK 2 preorder, with ARK 1.5 and all DLC thrown in. They would have avoided all this bad press and they would have had one of the most pre-ordered games ever.
Those would be great reasons if we weren't talking about wild card. They are doing this to go test things for ark 2 as they are learning to use the new engine. I have no doubt that there will be a lot of bugs that they will say they are going to fix and never will like the original ark
I've been with wildcard since the start pretty much I have -100% confidence in their ability to do anything properly, not even going to touch the subject of meshing
i love how no one realized they basically just upped the price now, of course basically everyone was gonna get ark 2. thanks to the community i cant afford it anymore. i'm up for debate on this
Not necessarily. Ark 2 is going to be very different to Ark 1, to the extent where I'm sure a lot of players won't want to play it. I mean I'm definitely sceptical because one of their selling points is "Souls-like combat" which just makes me go ew, no thank you. I think it'll all depend on when we actually get footage for all of these things... But paying $60 for the overhaul and all the DLC for a game you know you like is very different to paying $60, getting a game you might not like at all and then also having to pay $40 for DLC for the game you wanted in the first place.
@Argentavis House Maybe for yourself, which is lovely for you. But I'm just saying that's not a view that's going to be shared by everyone. In the same way that a lot of people won't care about official servers closing, because they never played them, while other people are very upset.
I dont see how wildcard can produce all of this is only 18 months, Ue5 update All the new features in Ark Ascended Remaster of all maps with a new creature per each one A new cannon dlc with 4 new creatures Then have ark 2 ready at the end There is no way
There's so much to be excited for here! I have no issue with paying for Ark again (I've lost count of the number of times I've done it for Skyrim lol) as always, unfortunately WC suffer with their communication and transparency, hopefully this will also improve as we see the new games and updates come to fruition, it's a great time to be an Ark fan!
I'm a sucker for Desert settings. Uncharted 3's opening is unmatched for me, the Gerudo desert is my favourite area in Breath of the Wild, and Scorched Earth is home to a lot of my favourite creatures, as we as a lot of interesting features. But purely because of the buggy, unfinished and outdated it is, I've never played it. If they remake SE and address a pot of the old issues as well as making an Ascension animation for it, it could easily become one of my favourite maps.
they changed the pack from 89.99 to 59.99 right 30 dollars saved, but if you look at it there is no ark 2 anymore, so they legit just rebranded the sale cuz ark 2 will probably be around 30$ so it still comes out to 90$
I hope all creatures are going to be on the new game. Probably just me being silly but I want all the creatures including the new ones to come over to this as well. My game runs poorly on my ps5 so I hope this will be a good quality of life update to this much loved game
***HELP and question*** I can kill your argument with one reason, removal of split screen. That's literally why me and my family play the game both on my side of the family and my wife's side of the family. This will completely kill ARK for my family. How can they do this??? Does this mean Ark 2 will not be split screen????
I am kinda of a wait and see mode myself. I will be honest though I will probably buy ASA but that being said I want to see a more complete feature list and some game-play/screenshots to see if I feel it is worth the price. Some of the features announced already make me interested though. My top two being better snapping when building and better dino management systems. I will be watching the news about this until it releases and then make my decision closer to release. The price I really don't have an issue with as long as the game is sufficiently improved by this update.
@@malekat8539 while that will prne true, I am honestly not sure if I will get ark 2. Some of the changes from Ark1 make me think that I might not like it. Both the dark souls combat system and third person only are thinks that I am not sure I will like in Ark 2.
Great description on the UE5 benefits Raas! I like to think a lot of the community outrage when WC announced that A:SA was no longer going to be free is because the vast majority simply saw UE5 as a graphics upgrade and not much more. Which is a vast understatement to the engine and what it can achieve. As the engine gets better, so too will A:SA and ARK2. With optimisation thrown in, A:SA will not only look better, but play better as well, meshing will greatly decrease, ini settings will no longer be interchangeable and rendering for structures will no longer take as long as the engine won't need to make as many calculations as before. ARK's future will burn very brightly indeed if WC and Snail Games can see this through properly.
Exactly. I feel like so many people who are mad that they "have to buy a broken game again" are completely oblivious to what this upgrade will do. If it was just a graphical update, there would be no way in hell it would sell. They are completely rebuilding the game from the ground up in a whole new engine. This is going to respark a lot of people's love for the game and could quite possibly be a huge success
engines are just a set of tools for developers, it's not magic that automatically makes the game better there is no reason to believe Wildcard will deliver, especially not in that short of a time frame
@aereton Not just tools, also versatility and scope. UE5 has far more at its disposal than UE4 with much better usability. Limitations in UE4 is what caused a lot of the early day issues with A:SE. So I'm hopeful WC won't be shrill on trying to polish A:SA in UE5.
Personally excited for ASA. And I don't mind starting over again. Those first moments of running, screaming, and getting eaten are some of the best parts of the game ... lol Thanks for the great video
I have restarted many times, such as when new maps come out. I don't mind, especially if sizable bases don't cause lag anymore. That would be nice so I can finally build what I want without worrying about lag.
I hope Ark Survival Ascended won't suffer the same VRAM problems as new current gen games/ports are experiencing. Also storage solution would be appreciated, Ark's an ssd hogger
I can see why they want to switch to Ascended because it will fix the old code which is so entrenched and built upon that it's better to switch to a better engine at the same time. To fix the old code for free (although it ideally should've been) would be costly to them and not worth the effort, as well as being hindered by the old engine
It's a bit annoying because they said it would be free, but I have every ark expansion so I think i've spent a couple hundred on ark already and I got 4k hours of game play out of it. It's my favorite game I've ever played. 60 dollars for every map and better performance and qol improvements doesn't sound too bad honestly, I think I will definitely get my moneys worth out of it again
Maybe new building mechanics will make shipbuilding better! I would also love to have more vehicles. A small helicopter that could pick up structures like storage boxes and generators would be super useful. Being able to move storage boxes full of stuff would be massive. Imagine the Exo Mek’s carry mode, but a vehicle. Oh and make sure it can land on a platform. Additionally, weather at sea to damage ships would be very interesting. At a high level, add in a weather radar structure for ships, to assist in avoiding weather. Something like this would make seafaring more interesting. Rafts are very powerful tools, but besides whales, there is absolutely nothing to balance out the strengths. Sea weather would be a massive addition. Faring the seas with your friends, with no guarantee you’ll make it home would be a much more fun experience in my opinion.
A note: we are NOT getting prim plus with asa, they specifically say that they're dropping support and won't bring it over to the new version. Could someone mod it in? Sure, but people could mod it in now. Also a flipside to "they HAVE to update everything all at once" means that updates could be so unwieldy that we just... get fewer of them. you know, because they have to do all the cross-platform things at once.
I still just wait for ARK 2 to come out. Then I look at both of them and only buy the best of the two. Won't pay 59.99 for a game that I already own and have paid for, put a 50% discount for players who already own the game and all the dlc, then we can talk about it.
This all sounds great. Exactly the way to extend the life of an older game built on old code for old hardware. It’s a lot of work, and knowing wild card, there will be at least a few issues with the transition, but I hope it will all work out in the long run. The cross play/cross save is the thing I’m most excited for tho. As well as hopefully being able to actually run it on my computer for once
Sigh... I don't see how ppl aren't seeing it. All they have done is move around the package and charge us an extra 10 for it. Instead of paying for the DLC seperate, you're paying for it upfront in the 60. It's like Wildcard have pulled the wool over ppls eyes. We're still paying a full AAA price for a game we already own. Yes they need to fund the update/upgrade.... but really, they want to charge the full cost of a new AAA game?!
Yeah I don’t like this whole spin. If it was free, cool. But I don’t need a prettier version to be a Guinea pig, or to pay a large amount to try and save a company that made too many missteps. Ark is fun, but I’m not going to be made a pawn. I’ll stick with what I have, and move on to other games. I’ll leave them to fall on their own blade.
@rassclark can you help ask for folders that stay in your inventory when transferring maps? I’d love to see a clean inventory system! So excited for the mini map and ping system!
I know this is a little off topic. I used to play Primal Fear on PC. I have xbox series x now. How cool would unreal engine look for primal fear. Soooooo so cool. I'm mad about the price again but very excited to relive the Ark journey again. Those old memories where fun. I'd do it again in a well remade bug fixed game.
I'm actually really looking forward to this! It was obvious that ARK 2 was going to be delayed so I'm glad we aren't just getting a graphic overhaul and nothing else. I started off playing pvp ark but never did any of the bosses. I then joined a PVE server and did a few bosses but focused on building bases and stuff. This will be great to actually complete the game and focus more on the lore of the game. Should look amazing on PS5 (don't think we ever got the full graphical overhaul that the series x got). I also only bought half the dlc.
Wasn't much of an update (xbox series x user). The servers and game engine would need to be updated to work better with newer gen stuff. That's what ASA essentially is.
I want to believe it'll be worth it, but WC obviously has a history of breaking promises and going back on their word. Therefore, we'll see. If they can pull off everything they say they'll do, then I think it'll be worth it.
I want to be excited but I just don't trust them to make anything but the most mediocre and laggy game on unreal engine 5. If they prove me wrong I will happily cough up the money because this is what I wanted Ark to be. All evidence just points to the opposite when you look at their track record. I've seen what Nekatus and other modders can do with unreal 5 and have done with unreal 4 but I want to see what Wildcard can actually do. Glad you are optimistic though Raas, it's a welcome perspective.
Im not 100% caught up with all wildcard and ark related info, and im aware this video is a month old, but from everything that certain youtubers are talking about (such as our amazing Rass) im genuinely very excited for Ascended. Im in love with ark and its been one of my favorite games ever since its release, my only issue with it has always truly been its optimization. I have a good pc but not good enough to run ark perfectly, and even with my series x running this 8 year old poorly optimized game, it can still be very laggy and rough in a session of just me and a few friends. I know everyone has their opinions on wildcard and their ability to deliver on promised products (or equivalent of) but i want to put my faith in this, and i will definitely buy this when it releases.
Wondering if there will be any transfer potential between versions. Sounds great but not sure it is enough to justify switching when our private servers are years old with progression.
We will be able to keep private servers, but will not be able to transfer to new Ark anything from the old. It's using a new engine, therefore the data and other things will be too different to work.
So after spending a small fortune buying all dlcs with the game we will have to pay wc again? Lel. I am hoping that Ark 2 will be a great game but I don't believe it will be better than Ark 1. Ark 1 with all it's flaws it's a perfect game and I will keep playing while I have the chance. This is an awesome video thanks for all the news, big thumbs up.
I'm really excited for the upgrade also here's like Rass mentioned we get some more earth set DLC. also I really hope we get more dodorex and mady new versions of the megamek.
Very nice to see someone mention some good things about ASA. It sounds like a big improvement. I'll be looking forward to trying it, although maybe not immediately. I might want for a few of the kinks to get ironed out.
Yea idc about the haters idc about the reviews, I’m buying it day 1 idc if it’s a risk ark is my soul I need it I wanna see it for myself before I listen to other peoples opinions
@@jeremyyates1026 Nope, just spreading the truth. These content creators are getting paid to misslead the community. Typical wildcard and snailgames I unsubbed from 11 content creators, if the content creator is not mentioning all what is wrong with the game, then he/she is not worth subbing to.
I am so excited, I love that they redo the game we all love and still play to this day. And it will be beautiful. Ignore the Haters, True Ark fans are hyped and happy because we can enjoy our favourite game until Ark 2 will release. I love this Studio.
Why would anyone give wild card or snail anymore money after the flat out lying they've been doing us from the started of this 2 months ago? I for 1 won't be. BTW this deal is the same as the last one. Just repackaged to look different. Still the same money when your done paying for everything you already did. ( For some of us years ago now) I for one am done with this bs.
It looks great but I would also take what they say with a pinch of salt. Could they pull off the "Dino babies in the wild" or will it be a broken promise like they did with Play as a Dino? (I'm on console so yeah, it never came to us). Either way I'm glad folk that can play ASA will get the benefits of what was sorely needed in ASE. Me? I have many more years on OG Ark and those years will be time well spent. I just hope they won't forget us entirely. As we're will be the ultimate Bobs here! Lol
I appreciate the work and thought you put into this video, but I have to completely disagree. Despite all the "promises" the announcements these last couple weeks are terrible at best. Charging full release price for a game and expansions loyal players already own is absolute garbage and a slap in the face. The precedent set for next gen game upgrades is basically that people who already own a game have gotten the reworks for free. Adding a few new features, and a little expansion "eventually" in no way justifies charging players that already own the game and expansions full price. It should be $20-$30 MAX for ASA+ all expansions for people who already own ASE and the expansions. OR the $60 is justifiable for NEW players without ASE. On top of that, shutting down the Official servers is another huge slap in the face to their most dedicated player base. Some players have spent thousands for hours building and maintaining their characters, dinos, bases, etc. and now nothing can be carried over? BS. They need to find a way or leave servers up. Forcing people to start over on top of forcing them to re-buy their products if they want to play Ark with others in the community on official servers, have events, etc. is absolute BS. I think devs and publisher have mismanaged so poorly that they cannot finish ARK 2 without another significant pool of money, and they want to force that money out of us, their most loyal players. I think that IF they even make it to complete ARK 2 at all then we will be looking at another $60-$70 game, on top of the now $60 for ASA. Everything they are doing is taking advantage of what loyal player base they had left and making cash grabs. All with nothing more to show us than a couple of trailers, "promises", and inconsistent "official" updates on ASA and ARK 2. This girl, for one, sees through the crap and is tired of the gaming companies taking advantage of us. I will not be pre-ordering anything, and after release will not be buying anything until it is complete and patched with EVERYTHING they promised. And if they go under in the meantime, I won't be surprised and maybe it will be a lesson to other companies on how not to do business, and how not to treat your loyal fan base.

I wonder how much of that will actually be in the remastered
I'll decide if it is worth it when WildCard shows us some actual gameplay footage and stops beating around the bush.

@@ladyteruki ok
@@ladyteruki the pessimism may not be "sustainable", but you can't honestly claim it's not warranted

Aaaand the no.1 reason why it’s worth it:
“My life and finances literally depends on it”, said Raasclark.
Well said
Agree.
I would be, this is bullshit and the "new offer" is exactly the same as the old one.
Makes me think they paid him to do PR for them.
@W0lfMan27 Yeah I hate being a conspiracy theorist here but for sure possible since nobody else is even trying to Amp it up
I am waiting till I see official gameplay. God, forbid we get a game released nowadays that isn't bugged to hell.
This needed to be said. The reaction to the new Ark news was disappointing, but the direction they're headed in is really promising!
We can always rely on Raas to be a positive light in the community 👏👏
That's the society we live in though.
Very people are positive these days, they just love to be negative.

Of course this is the only comment he doesn't heart
As the devs have already stated, the DLC's will be automatically included in the purchase of ASA and come with the game right off the bat. The original plan was to just do graphical updates and then give it to everyone for free, but they found out that doing so would break alot of things like most mods etc, for people who would want to keep ark as is, and with the number of system overhauls and changes that ended up included in the upgrade, they had to change from doing a free upgrade to this paid remaster
Its not like ark is the first game to do this, and with everything I've seen, it seems they are doing their best to bring about things in the best way for the players
yea having to rebuy the game sucks a little, but paying only 60 for the entire new game with all the new features and all of the DLC maps isn't as bad as it could have been or as it originally seemed to be, and also keeps Survival Evolved available to those who don't want to upgrade and just want to continue with their singleplayer or unofficial playthrough undisturbed.
edit: By the way, why would he heart an almost paranoid/conspiracy theorist post, falsely accusing him of being a shill when likely he is just trying to look on the bright side of things?
@Vovk Strilka just spread your cheeks lol the company is railing you 🤣 your not getting a new game your getting the same game with minor upgrades lol not worth 60 bucks especially it you already own the game but hey if you want to lick those boots have at it
Will this effect mobile?
They do this because they know people will buy it.
It's not. It's a cash grab to screw other players and ur just supporting so you don't loss your cash bag.
Also, they’d probably add side areas with the other canon maps (island, scorched and ab)
I really wanna see aberration without a burnt-to-a-crisp surface
I just want to point out that under the current offer Ark 2 has to be 30 or less otherwise we are paying the same amount or more. Old deal was ASA, DLC, Ark 2 for 90 all together. Current offer is ASA and all DLC for 60. Something to keep in mind. I have no issue supporting the devs by paying for more content but it needs to be legitimate content for the price point with significant gameplay updates. Also the way they're going about things is shady and the latest offer is still shady because they're just trying to obfuscate the amount of money the consumer is spending.
Bro 60$ is cheap asf for a unreal engine 5 game plus all dlc it could be worse it could be 80$ base game plus 30$ per dlc
I gotta be honest I’m more excited for the player camera and movements the most, feels like it’ll actually make me feel immersed in it.
It sounds like it’s gonna make the third person feel more “modern”
Like being able to spring in all directions in third person
"Water flowing as it should" meanwhile the video shows an unnaturally bouyant boat spinning in tight circles
Awwww, how naive.
@Bill Clinton Enjoyer I wont argue with ignorant people like yourself , I'll let you bask in your negativity :) though good try
Nobody is complaining about bug fixes...? Tone deaf
They never learned how to use the last engine....
this engine will get rid of over half the bugs quit whining
@@frostflame45 you are so naive
I've been with wildcard since the start pretty much I have -100% confidence in their ability to do anything properly, not even going to touch the subject of meshing
i love how no one realized they basically just upped the price now, of course basically everyone was gonna get ark 2. thanks to the community i cant afford it anymore. i'm up for debate on this
So how much exactly is everything going to cost now ?
It seems expensive if you can't afford it ...
I dont see how wildcard can produce all of this is only 18 months,
Ue5 update
All the new features in Ark Ascended
Remaster of all maps with a new creature per each one
A new cannon dlc with 4 new creatures
Then have ark 2 ready at the end
There is no way
There's so much to be excited for here! I have no issue with paying for Ark again (I've lost count of the number of times I've done it for Skyrim lol) as always, unfortunately WC suffer with their communication and transparency, hopefully this will also improve as we see the new games and updates come to fruition, it's a great time to be an Ark fan!
Is it worth $60 the price of a full game when it’s just an upgrade that was promised to be free in the first place.
To be honest, this is the ARK I want, ARK 2 is really not the game that matches the way I want to play...
aint no way im paying that much for the same game with very little visual change
If they remake SE and address a pot of the old issues as well as making an
Ascension animation for it, it could easily become one of my favourite maps.
Scorched Earth is my favorite map. Currently has too many issues to do a pro-longed play on it.
they changed the pack from 89.99 to 59.99 right 30 dollars saved, but if you look at it there is no ark 2 anymore, so they legit just rebranded the sale cuz ark 2 will probably be around 30$ so it still comes out to 90$
Yeah they did, only people who get a good deal are xbox game pass people because they get ark 2 free.
Tht bundle was a scam anyway
I hope all creatures are going to be on the new game. Probably just me being silly but I want all the creatures including the new ones to come over to this as well. My game runs poorly on my ps5 so I hope this will be a good quality of life update to this much loved game
I don’t understand why they doing the creature vote lol just add all of them ark would be insane if they had all those new mfs
Hes missleading you all, hes getting paid.
@@malekat8539 while that will prne true, I am honestly not sure if I will get ark 2. Some of the changes from Ark1 make me think that I might not like it. Both the dark souls combat system and third person only are thinks that I am not sure I will like in Ark 2.
I definitely wasn’t asked to make this video 🤔
This is going to respark a lot of people's love for the game and could quite possibly be a huge success
engines are just a set of tools for developers, it's not magic that automatically makes the game better
there is no reason to believe Wildcard will deliver, especially not in that short of a time frame
$60 for them to fix a game I already spent more then $100 in? Yeah fuck no.
I agree, a better performance experience for ark that has more updates and proper mods that don’t lag (as much) just seems like a good time :)
I hope Ark Survival Ascended won't suffer the same VRAM problems as new current gen games/ports are experiencing. Also storage solution would be appreciated, Ark's an ssd hogger
Nahhhhh snail games got to him😢
This feels more like ark 2 than ark 2 itself
I can see why they want to switch to Ascended because it will fix the old code which is so entrenched and built upon that it's better to switch to a better engine at the same time. To fix the old code for free (although it ideally should've been) would be costly to them and not worth the effort, as well as being hindered by the old engine
WE THANK GROVE STREET FROM NINTENDO SWITCH NEVER ASKED FOR MONEY
Man some ppl never see the writing on the wall but then again I think this youtuber get sponsored by ark anyway so makes sense to defend then.
I dont get sponsored bud. This is all me
Seeing how much hard work ark wants to put puts a smile on my face
A note: we are NOT getting prim plus with asa, they specifically say that they're dropping support and won't bring it over to the new version. Could someone mod it in? Sure, but people could mod it in now.
Also a flipside to "they HAVE to update everything all at once" means that updates could be so unwieldy that we just... get fewer of them. you know, because they have to do all the cross-platform things at once.
Dang, how much did they pay you Raas?
I’ll leave them to fall on their own blade.
have you all forgotten that the Ark remaster was announced as a free upgrade?
The way they have been treating the players, I will never buy another product from those greedy, rude, unprofessional arses.
I want to believe it'll be worth it, but WC obviously has a history of breaking promises and going back on their word. Therefore, we'll see.
If they can pull off everything they say they'll do, then I think it'll be worth it.
What promises have they broke?
i already thought that ark 2 felt like that they were promising more than they could give but now with ascended i think its gonna be even worse
I'm really excited for the upgrade also here's like Rass mentioned we get some more earth set DLC. also I really hope we get more dodorex and mady new versions of the megamek.
there is ONE thing I want:
A smaller file size. If the full game (ALL DLC) is under 200GB, I'll buy it once it goes on sale.
Me and my father are very excited for this! We watch ur vids together to get all our ark news, keep it man love ya ❤🙏🏿
Wildcard is just gonna disappoint once again, idk how can you be so confident in a game that doesn't even have a piece of gameplay or screenshots...

Lol
Absolutely love how you explained everything. Thank you, Raas, for making it much more understandable.
